Assessment of Failure for Fretting-Wear of Steam Generator U-Tubes in Operating Nuclear Power Plants (증기발생기 U-튜브의 마모 손상평가)

  • 본 연구에서는 증기발생기 튜브의 마모마손에 대한 평가 방법을 열수력해석, 자유진동해석, 비선형해석, 마모량예측 등의 과정을 통해 증기발생기튜브의 마모량과 수명을 예측하는 방법에 대해 알아보았다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 1) 증기발생기 비선형충격해석에서 사용되는 정확한 난류 여기진동가진 가진력의 확보가 정확한 마모치를 예측할 수 있고, 2) 마모치예상을 위한 수식의 사용시 튜브의 미끌림거리 over bar L값이 매우 주요한 변수임을 알 수 있었다. 3) 충격력과 마모치의 연관관계에 대한 정확한 정의가 본 연구에 사용된 Archard의 마모방정식 이외에 여러 가지가 있으나, 아직 이들에 대한 정보부족으로 더 많은 검토가 필요하다.

A Wheel Wear Analysis of Railway Vehicle on a Curved Section (곡선 구간에서 철도 차량 휠의 마모 특성 해석)

  • The wheel wear of a railway vehicle is mainly generated when maneuvering on a curved track. The change in the wheel profile affects the dynamic stability of the vehicle. In this analysis, the wheel wear volume was calculated while changing the velocity and radius of the curve to analyze the wear characteristics of a wheel at a curved section. The wear index was calculated from a vehicle dynamic analysis based on a multibody dynamics analysis and wear volume from a wear model by British Rail Research. The wear volume at a radius of 300 m is dominant compared with other radii. The wear volume was calculated by assigning different coefficients of friction to the tread and flange of the wheel to investigate the effect of lubrication on the wear characteristics. The effect of the improvement by lubrication is calculated by varying the radius of the track, and is assessed on an actual urban railway section.

  • Herein, we present a numerical investigation of wear analysis of sliding systems with a constant speed subjected to Archard's wear law. For this investigation, we compared two methods: eigen-wear analysis and adaptive meshing technique. The eigen-wear analysis is advantageous to predict the evolution of contact pressure due to wear using the initial contact pressure and contact stiffness. The adaptive meshing technique in finite element analysis is employed to obtain transient wear behavior, which needs significant computational resources. From the eigen-wear analysis, we can determine the appropriate element size required for finite element analysis and the time increment required for wear evolution by a dimensionless variable above a certain value. Since the prediction of wear depends on the maximum contact pressure, the finite element model should have a reasonable representation of the maximum contact pressure. The maximum contact pressure and wear amount according to this dimensionless variable shows that the number of fine meshes in the contact area contributes more to the accuracy of the wear analysis, and the time increment is less sensitive when the number of contact nodes is significantly larger. The results derived from a two-dimensional wear model can be applied to a three-dimensional wear model.

  • For the wear characteristics assessment of Saemaul train passing through curves, an analysis model for multi-car system has been developed. By using this model and ADAMS/Rail, sensitivity analyses have been conducted for the wear characteristics by changing the related parameters. At low speed, the wear number and the sliding mean of right wheel showed higher than left wheel, while those of left wheel showed higher than right wheel at high speed. According to the decrease of curve radius, the wear number and the sliding mean were increased. When the length of transition curve was increased, the wear number and the sliding mean was increased. And according to increase of cant, the wear number and the sliding mean were increased.

  • 석탄화력발전소에 정착되는 고속분립체 이송용 곡관의 내마모성 향상에 관한 수치해석 및 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 22.5$^{\circ}$와 90$^{\circ}$ 곡관을 모델로 하여, 분립체에 의한 곡관의 마모를 감소시키기 위해 유동방향이 전환되는 부분에 와류장이 형성되도록 곡관의 단면형상을 변화시켰다. 삼차원, 난류유동장의 지배방정식을 유한체적법으로 이산화시키고, SIMPLE 알고리즘을 이용하여 해를 구하였다. 수치해석을 통해 마모감소를 위한 새로운 형상의 곡관을 설계하였다. 새로운 형상의 곡관을 제작, 운전중인 국내 화력발전소에 장착하여 마모실험을 수행하였으며 내마모성이 매우 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다.

The Effect of Fretting Wear on Fatigue Crack Initiation Site of Press-fitted Shaft (압입축에 발생하는 프레팅 마모가 피로균열 발생 위치에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of the present paper is to evaluate the effect of the evolution of contact surface profile by fretting wear on the contact stress distribution and fatigue crack initiation site of press-fitted shaft by means of an analytical method based on experimental data. A finite element analysis was performed to analyze the stress states of press-fitted shaft, considering the worn contact surface profiles of shaft. The evolutions of contact stress as wearing of contact surface were analyzed by finite element analysis and fatigue crack nucleation sites were evaluated by fretting fatigue damage parameter (FFDP) md multiaxial fatigue criteria. It is found that the stress concentration of a contact edge in press-fitted sha손 decreases rapidly at the initial stage of total fatigue life, and its location shifts from the contact edge to the inside due to fretting wear as increasing of fatigue cycles. Thus the transition of crack nucleation position in press-fitted shaft is mainly caused by stress change of a contact edge due to the evolution of contact surface profile by fretting wear. Therefore, it is suggested that the nucleation of multiple cracks on fretted surface of press fits is strongly related to the evolution of surface profile at the initial stage of total fatigue life.

  • 구름접촉피로는 차륜과 레일의 반복적인 접촉으로 인하여 발생하는 표면손상현상으로 점차 증가하는 레일손상 중 하나이다. 접촉마모 및 주기적 그라인딩보다 균열의 성장속도가 더 빨라 균열진전이 시작되는 최소균열크기(minimum crack size for growth)는 레일의 파괴방지 및 유효한 유지보수전략을 수립하는데 기초자료로 활용된다. 본 연구에서는 최소균열크기를 예측하기 위하여 차륜레일의 접촉에 영향을 미치는 주요 파라미터를 변화시키면서 최소균열크기의 변화를 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 Fletcher와 Kapoor의 "2.5D"모델을 적용한 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어를 개발하였으며, 최대접촉하중(1174MPa), 표면마찰계수(0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4), 잔류응력, 접촉에 의한 표면마모(1.0nm/cycle), 그라인딩량(0.3mm/10MGT)을 파라미터로 하여 해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과 최소균열크기는 해석조건에 따라 1.41-1.95mm로 계산되었다.

  • The analysis of the frictional energy of the rubber block with contact to the surface is necessary to study the wear for rubber. It is important to define the relationship of the frictional energy and wear, as the most theory of the wear of rubber product is based on the frictional energy of rubber block. To predict the life of the rubber block, the most of research has been focused on the use of the finite element analysis or the actual experiments which need the many time and expensive costs.Therefore, this research is achieved the successful results of the analysis to the frictional energy by analytic method. This frictional energy is function of the material properties, the shape of block, the vertical and horizontal load and the block moving speed. The analytical results are compared with the test results of this paper which can be used for the analysis of the friction behavior for the wear estimation of the rubber products.
