Effect of Chitosan-Added on the Quality Characteristics of Maribo Cheese (키토산을 첨가한 마리보 치즈의 품질 특성)

  • Chitosan provides beneficial effects such as decrease in cholesterol, weight loss, and antioxidative effects. The manufacture of Maribo cheese containing powdered chitosan (CP) or nanopowdered chitosan (NCP) is not yet established. Thus, this study was conducted to determine the effect of CP and NCP on Maribo cheese's physicochemical properties. The curd was added with 0.2 and 0.5% of CP and NCP, respectively, after the second whey drainage. The pH changed and the lactic acid bacterial population decreased in all treatments. Additionally, WSN and TBA gradually increased during the ripening of cheese. The TP of control cheese was higher than that of another group. On the basis of the obtained results, consumer preference test on overall acceptability of 0.2% NCP was good-41%, great good 13%. It was concluded that the quality of Maribo cheese was not affected by adding chitosan. Furthermore, 0.2% NCP was preferred during cheese ripening and observed the possibility of functional cheese than another group.

Incidence of Wolf Teeth in Jeju Ponies and Jeju Pony Crossbreds (제주마와 제주산마에서 이리치아 잔존율)

  • Wolf teeth have been reported with incidence rate of 13% to 31.9% in horses of both sexes. However, there is no report about the incidence of wolf teeth in pony breeds. In order to determine the incidence of wolf teeth in Jeju Ponies and Jeju Pony crossbreds, oral examination and palpation of the interdental space of ponies at the Jeju Race Park were performed from 2006 to 2010. Results of this study showed that a total of 90 (3.4%) of the 2,675 examined Jeju Ponies and Jeju Pony crossbreds had wolf teeth. Among 30 Jeju Ponies that had wolf teeth, 22 were male (73.3%) and 8 were female (26.7%). Among 60 Jeju Pony crossbreds that had wolf teeth, 25 were male (41.7%) and 35 were female (58.3%). In Jeju Ponies, wolf teeth were most common in 3-years-old, followed by ${\geq}4$-years-old, then 2-years-old. For Jeju Pony crossbreds, wolf teeth were most common in 3-years-old, followed by 2-yearsold, then ${\geq}4$-years-old. In conclusion, the incidence of wolf teeth in Jeju Ponies and Jeju Pony crossbreds was considerably lower than what has been reported for horses in other countries.

  • Root-knot nematode damage was found on yam, Dioscorea bulbifera in Andong Korea. From the root-knots, female nematodes were isolated and subjected to DNA sequence analysis. Sequence of cytochrome oxidase subunit II (COII) was analyzed from the genomic DNA of the isolate. COII locus size and sequence of the nematode isolate were similar to those of Meloidogyne javanica or M. incognita. However, an analysis of HinfI restriction site, a species-specific character between these two species, showed that the isolate did not match to either M. javanica or M. incognita.

  • Purpose: This study was performed to detect various chemicals such as metal elements and volatile organic compounds which contained in mascara and we analyzed 5 sorts of mascaras frequently used by people. Methods: We purchased five sorts of mascaras commercially available and analyzed for detecting metal elements and volatile organic ingredients. Results: We found somewhat high concentration of aluminum and manganese and several organic compounds in some samples. Conclusions: The results suggest that mascara has metal elements and organic compounds which can influence to eye.

우주발사체 개발을 위한 발사대 케이블마스트(CABLE MAST) 사례조사

  • 우주발사체 발사를 위해서는 발사대시스템 개발이 필수적이다. 발사대시스템은 기계설비와 추진제공급설비, 관제설비로 구성되며, 그 중 기계설비는 발사지지대(Launch Pad), 이렉터(Erector), 트랜스포터이렉터(Transport-Erector), 케이블마스트(Cable-mast), 자동체결장치(Auto-coupling Device) 총 다섯 부분으로 나눌 수 있다. 발사지지대는 발사 전까지 발사체를 지지하는 구조물로 발사체의 안전을 보장하고 공급배관 및 통신라인의 경로를 제공한다. 이렉터는 발사준비과정에서 수평으로 이송된 발사체를 2개의 대형 유압실린더를 사용하여 기립시키는 장비로 발사 취소 시 발사체를 수평으로 전환한다. 트랜스포터이렉터는 조립공간에서 조립을 마치고 최종점검이 완료된 발사체를 전용차량을 이용하여 발사대로 이동하고 발사체를 안전하게 잡아준다. 자동체결장치는 지상으로부터 발사체로 연결되는 추진제, 압축가스 등의 연결배관을 자동으로 연결/분리하는 장치이다. 케이블마스트는 우주발사체 상단부의 UCU-E(Umbilical Connectors Unit-Electrical)를 통해서 전기, 고압가스, 고온공기 등을 공급하기 위한 통로로 발사 전까지 발사체시스템과 지상장비와의 통신수단이다. 또한 발사체로 연결되는 라인들을 발사 시에 나오는 후류에 의한 충격으로부터 보호하고, UCU-E가 기계적으로 분리되도록 구성되어 있다. 본 논문은 기존에 적용된 케이블마스트에 대한 구성, 기능 및 운용절차에 관한 것으로, 현재 진행 중인 한국형발사체 개발을 위한 기초 자료조사로 활용하고자 한다.

  • The research studies how features of games can be utilized and converted into storytelling elements by analyzing specific transmedia storytelling cases. For the research, was selected for subjects of analysis. From the analysis conducted, first, how game can be expanded and transformed into interactive animations was observed. Also, use of representative elements of the original game, concepts and basic settings in was seen. And lastly, implementation of transmedia storytelling strategies that constitute narratives based on character creation and connection between spaces was also observed.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational effect of non-face-to-face classes in elementary school social studies using Minecraft. the fourth grade of elementary school is divided into experimental and control groups, and social studies using Minecraft are conducted for one semester. As a result of the study, the experimental group students who experienced elementary social studies classes using Minecraft showed a significant increase in achievement, learning attitude, and sense of place compared to the control group, focusing on questions, explanations, and opinions in the Minecraft virtual space It was confirmed that they were cooperating with each other.

  • 최근 각광 받고 있는 멀티 터치 인터랙션 시스템에서 기존의 디스플레이 방식인 벽면 디스플레이 방식의 네모난 형태의 디스플레이 방식이 아닌 볼록형(Convex) 불규칙 디스플레이 방식으로 산 모양의 디오라마 형태의 디스플레이에서 멀티 터치 인터랙션이 가능한 시스템을 제안한다. 먼저 볼록형 불규칙 표면의 산 디오라마를 제작을 하고 후면 투영 방식으로 프로젝터 영상을 산 디오라마 표면을 대상으로 디스플레이 하고 영상 분석 모듈을 통하여 터치 인터랙션 좌표 정보를 분석한다. 분석된 터치 인터랙션 좌표는 3D 좌표로 변환하고 디스플레이 모듈에 보내면 디스플레이 모듈에서는 인터랙션 메타포로 분석하고 결과를 콘텐츠에 실행시킴으로써 볼록형 불규칙 표면의 산 디오라마에서 멀티 터치 인터랙션에 따른 결과를 사용자가 체감 할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 시스템은 향후 다양한 디오라마 형태로 제작하여 목적에 맞는 전시 시스템으로의 디바이스나 체감형 아케이드 게임 디바이스로 활용이 가능할 것이다.

Studies on the Forming Mechanism of The Fishing Ground of Yellow tail, seriola quinqueradiata, in The Adjacent Sea of Jeju Island (제주도 주변해역의 방어어장형성기구에 관한 연구)

  • We studied the fishing ground of a yellowtail and oceanographic conditions around Chujado and Marado around Jeju Island from autumn to winter. Also we investigate the forming mechanism of fishing ground around Marado, which shows the best catch of yellowtail near Jeju island. The obtained results are summarized as follow ; 1. When the high temperature water about 15.0∼19.0 in depth of 50m distributed around Chujado and Marado, the fishing ground of Yellowtail is shows a good catch. On the contrary, when the low temperature water about 11.0∼14.0 is shows a poor catch. 2. Fishing grounds of yellowtail by handline fishing are formed with a school of Yellowtail migrating southward from the coastal sea of Korea and slaying around Marado to winter and spawn due to following factors. Firstly, a front of temperature and salinity is formed between inshore water and oceanic water around Marado. Secondly, small-size eddies and excellent horizontal and vortical mix which is created by strong tide and geographical features including irregular underwater ground and an isolated island. An abundant school of yellow tails stays in front of the tide where a good fishing ground was made.

Quality Characteristics of Ssukgaen Dduk Made with High-Dietary Fiber Rice 'Goami' Focused on Yam and Glutinous Rice (마와 찹쌀의 첨가 비율에 따른 고아미 쑥갠떡의 품질 특성)

  • This study compared the production of functional Ssukgaen Dduk containing yam, mugwort, glutinous rice and Goami 2 rice, which is rich in dietary fiber and prevents diabetes and adult disease. To enhance the chewiness and softness of Goami Ssukgaen Dduk, the dough was kneaded various times. When Ssukgaen Dduk was made with various amounts of yam and glutinous rice (25:5%, 20:10%, 15:15%, 10:20%, and 5:25%) to Goami 2 rice, the control group (non-glutinous rice Ssukgaen Dduk) showed the highest preference level in sensory test. Of the yam and glutinous rice additives groups, YG4 (10% yam and 20% glutinous rice) showed higher preference. As glutinous rice additives increased and yam additives decreased, preference level significantly increased. Of the yam and glutinous rice groups, G40 kneaded 40 times, showed a significant difference (4.17 compared to control group). G40 also indicated appropriate characteristics in terms of taste, texture, chewiness, softness, and delicacy of texture. G60 and G80 kneaded 60 and 80 times, respectively, showed remarkably lower scores than other samples in terms of general preference. Thus, quality characteristics of Ssukgaen Dduk decreased when amount of kneading increased, hardness significantly decreased. In conclusion, Ssukgaen Dduk should contain 10% yam and 20% glutinous rice added to 70% Goami 2 rice powder mixed with mugwort, kneaded about 40 times.
