TACT Productivity Management for Finish Works of Residential Buildings using Productivity Achievement Ratio (PAR) (공동주택 마감공사 TACT 기법 생산성 관리 - Productivity Achievement Ratio를 활용한 생산성 관리 -)

  • To complete various types of finish works with higher quality in much less time, TACT, which was mostly used for high-rise buildings, has been adapted to meet the needs for systematic schedule management in construction sites. However, the effectiveness of adapting TACT has not been shown as expected due to the different perspectives on productivity from both general contractor and subcontractors based on unforeseen conditions according to the types of site. Furthermore, not enough theoretical backgrounds, empirical data, and systematic approaches to solve the fundamental problems caused by each participants' different views on productivity has produced obstacles for establishing effective solutions. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the possible main reasons for having different point of views regarding productivity among various participants of residential building sites using TACT based on literature review, site survey, and interviews. Also, case study was conducted to propose obtainable productivity (OP) regression equation and productivity achievement ratio (PAR) with reduction factors (RFs) and actual productivity (AP) data from an actual construction site. The proposed outcome may assist general contractors converting output management with PPC to productivity management with actual data using PAR. On the other hand, subcontractors would be able to estimate theory-based maximum productivity of construction sites with TACT by using OP. The PAR will enhance the communication between general and sub-contractors for their decision making process. Finally, the main RFs derived from PAR could be used as essential keys for productivity management to increase the economical and operational effectiveness of the construction project.

  • Despite the importance and function of productivity information, in the Korean construction industry, the method of collecting and analyzing productivity data has not been organized. Also, in most cases, productivity management is reliant on the experience and intuitions of field managers, and productivity data are rarely being utilized in planning and management. Accordingly, this study intends to develop a prediction model for interior finishes of apartment using deep learning techniques, so as to provide a foundation for analyzing the productivity impacting factors and predicting productivity. The result of the study, productivity prediction model for interior finishes of apartment using deep learning techniques, can be a basic module of apartment project management system by applying deep learning to reliable productivity data and developing as data is accumulated in the future. It can also be used in project engineering processes such as estimating work, calculating work days for process planning, and calculating input labor based on productivity data from similar projects in the past. Further, when productivity diverging from predicted productivity is discovered during construction, it is expected that it will be possible to analyze the cause(s) thereof and implement prompt response and preventive measures.

  • Compared with the natural marble, the artificial marble has the advantages of excellent appearance, high degree of finish, even color, fine pressure and wear resistance, bear erosion and weathering, etc. It can be widely used in kitchen countertops, bath vanity tops, table tops, furniture, reception desks, etc. However, large amounts of artificial marble waste such as scraps or dust have been generated from sawing and polishing processes in artificial marble industry. Waste from artificial marble industry is increasing according to demand magnification of luxurious interior material. Artificial marble wastes can be recycled as aluminum oxide used as raw materials in electronic materials, ceramics production, etc., and methyl methacrylate(MMA) which become a raw material of artificial marble by pulverization, pyrolysis and distillation processes. The characteristics of artificial marble wastes was analyzed by using TGA/DSC and element analysis. Crude aluminum oxide was obtained from artificial marble waste by pulverization and thermal decomposition under nitrogen atmosphere. In this work, Box-Behnken design was used to optimize the pyrolysis process. The characteristics of crude aluminum oxide was evaluated by chromaticity analysis, element analysis, and surface area.

  • TRUTEC building, which is located at DMC B block is zone, is just one the office building in Soeul. TRUTEC building is designed by Barkow Leibinger Architeken in Germany, has 5 stories under and 12 stories above and has been finished with the unique three dimensional curtain wall unit. Big trial to make unique elevation succeeded as getting rid of the typical plain curtain wall unit. In addition, aluminum bars are treated by the latest CNC machine in order to achieve 3D section. Construction of curtain wall is highly focused from the moment of contract to keep the schedule because the contract period is 18 months. Regular design meeting and technical meeting between stakeholders including construction manager, designer, engineer, consultant and so on have been held during the construction to minimize the risks from the unique elevation and trial. Step by step mock-up test (design mock-up and visual mock-up on site) has been performed before functional mock-up test.

  • This study proposed a new optimization-based decision model for an enterprise resource planning and production scheduling of a pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturing plant. To do this work, we first define the inflow and outflow information as well as the model structure, and develop an optimization model to minimize the production time (i.e., makespan) using a mixed integer linear programing (MILP). The unique feature of the proposed model is that the optimal process scheduling is established based on real-time resource logistics information using a radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, thereby theoretically requiring no material inventories. essential information for process operation, such as the required amount of raw materials and estimated arrival timing to manufacturing plant, is used as logistics constraints in the optimization model to yield the optimal manufacturing scheduling to satisfy final production demands. We illustrated the capability of the proposed decision model by applying the optimization model to two scheduling problems in a real pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturing process. As a result, the optimal production schedule and raw materials order timing were identified to minimize the makespan while satisfying all the product demands.

  • A new type of ultrasonic spray nozzle was fabricated employing a piezoelectric device. The spray nozzle was designed to disperse chemicals in a water treatment mixing tank. The piezoelectric properties in ultrasonic spray nozzles were optimized to improve the dispersion of chemicals. The piezoelectrics were packaged in an aluminum case with silicone resin for the aqueous solution proof packaging. Chemicals were dispersed with high efficiency and the chemicals consumption was reduced by the ultrasonic fine particle spraying. The concentration of Escherichia coli in mixing tank was decreased remarkably using ultrasonic spray nozzle dispersion compared to the conventional methods.

  • The previous disk scheduling schemes for best-effort applications do not guarantee the real-time requirement of multimedia objects and the real-time disk scheduling schemes do not satisfy throughput of multimedia server. So, this paper propose a two-step disk scheduling scheme to satisfy the requirement of best-effort as well as soft real-time applications. This scheme is based on the round robin algorithm that imposes different weights on the best-effort task and the real-time one. The experiment results on the Linux kernel have shown that both best-effort tasks and real-time tasks could get fair service.

  • 공사현장에서 사용하고있는 거푸집의 대체를 오랫동안 연구 끝에 가로(60cm) 세로(120cm)의 규격의 PE-FORM을 개발한바 있으나, 일반 건설 현장에서 어떠한 형태의 구조물 시공을 위한 형틀을 제작함에 있어 통상적으로 기존 합판거푸집을 사용하고 있으나, 현재 국내에서 사용되고 있는 합판은 전량 수입에 의존하고 있어 외화낭비가 심할 뿐 아니라 평균 2-3회 정도밖에 사용하지 못해 자원 낭비를 초래하고 있으며, 합판 거푸집을 사용한 경우, 목공이 구조물의 형태에 맞춰 FORM을 일일이 제작해야하므로 시간과 비용의 소모가 크고 또한 FRP-FORM, EURO-FORM, STEEL-FORM GANG-FORM SYSTEM-FORM 등 구조물의 성격 형태에 따라 각종 개량된 거푸집을 사용한다고 해도 그것은 단순한 구조물의 형상을 만들어 내기 위한 형틀로써만이 이용되고 있을 뿐, 그 이상의 목적으로는 활용 할 수 없기 때문에 구조물의 특성상 방수 방식의 기능이 요구될 경우, 거푸집 해체 후 벽체의 내부 또는 외부에 액체, 몰탈, 에폭시, 쉬트 방수등 별도의 후속 공정이 추가되 번거로움이 있는 반면, 그 효과는 기대에 크게 미치지 못하고 있는 점을 착안, 수년 전부터 연구에 착수, 콘크리트 구조체의 방수ㆍ방식 문제를 해결 할 수 있는 획기적인 공법의 PE-PANEL의 요철형 거푸집 및 방수ㆍ방식공법을 개발해내는데 성공함으로써 지금까지 난제로만 여겨졌던 목재 거푸집의 대체 자재개발과 아울러 거푸집 겸 콘크리트 표면의 마감 처리을 동시에 해결한 매우 혁신적인 신기술이라 할 수 있다.   • The curtain-wall work has been more frequently applied in the construction industry since demand of high-rise buildings has been increased. The curtain-wall work is usually performed with the frame work simultaneously for reducing construction period, but it might be delayed because of several problems caused by interference of process. However, there is not an appropriate tool which can be used by a work manager for adjusting quantity of the construction equipments or the workers when the curtain-wall work was delayed. To resolve this problem a construction simulation anticipating and analyzing potential problems before starting the work can be applied in the curtain wall work. This research suggests a general model for the curtain-wall work by using construction simulation and produces a combination of construction equipments and workers which can estimate optimum work productivity.

  • With the recent changes in building environments such as low-carbon green growth, there have been increasing demands for the new building system that is eco-friendly and can maximize efficiency such as the unit modular system. For the unit modular system, more than 80% of the whole process is carried out in the factory while in the field, mostly unit module assembling and finish work are done. Thus, the quality at the pre-construction stage when design and manufacturing are done determines the quality of the building as a whole. In the country, the unit modular method was first applied in 2003 to school buildings and has gradually expanded afterwards, but due to the lack of examples and related information as well as the small scale of modular manufacturers, its characteristics have not been sufficiently reflected in design, manufacturing and field constructions. This study, as an attempt to improve the design quality of unit modular buildings, points to the problem in manufacturing and field construction, compares and analyzes its causes, and suggests major points to be considered in the early stage of designing the unit modular buildings.
