Stability Analysis for a Virtual Spring Model with an Extrapolation and High-frequency ZOH (외삽법과 고주파 영차홀드 출력이 포함된 가상 스프링 모델의 안정성 영역 분석)

  • In order to enhance the realism of a virtual environment, a method of maximizing the stiffness of the virtual environment model is needed, which maintains the stability of the haptic system. In our previous research, we proposed a haptic system with a first order hold, instead of a zero order hold, and showed that the maximum available stiffness of a virtual spring with the first-order hold is larger than that with the zero-order hold. However, in terms of real system implementation, the zero order hold is a more common and easy method. In this paper, we propose an extrapolation method and a high frequency zero-order-hold output method in order to obtain the stability region using a zero order hold, which is equivalent to the method using the first-order-hold. The simulation results shows that the stability range of the virtual spring becomes almost the same as that of the method using the first order hold when the sampling period of the high frequency zero-order-hold method is decreased. Moreover, the stability range of the proposed method is several times to several tens of times greater than that of the method using the zero order hold only. Therefore, it is expected that the proposed method can enhance the realism of rigid bodies in a virtual environment.

Dynamic response of segment lining due to train-induced vibration (세그먼트 라이닝의 열차 진동하중에 대한 동적 응답특성)

  • Unlike NATM tunnels, Shield TBM tunnels have split linings. Therefore, the stress distribution of the lining is different even if the lining is under the same load. Representative methods for analyzing the stress generated in lining in Shield TBM tunnels include Non-joint Mode that does not consider connections and a 2-ring beam-spring model that considers ring-to-ring joints and segment connections. This study is an analysis method by Break-joint Mode. However, we do not consider the structural role of segment lining connections. The effectiveness of the modeling is verified by analyzing behavioral characteristics against vibration loads by modeling with segment connection interfaces to which vertical stiffness and shear stiffness, which are friction components, are applied. Unlike the Non-joint mode, where the greatest stress occurs on the crown for static loads such as earth pressure, the stress distribution caused by contact between segment lining and friction stiffness produced the smallest stress in the crown key segment where segment connections were concentrated. The stress distribution was clearly distinguished based on segment connections. The results of static analysis by earth pressure, etc., produced up to seven times the stress generated in Non-joint mode compared to the stress generated by Break-joint Mode. This result is consistent with the stress distribution pattern of the 2-ring beam-spring model. However, as for the stress value for the train vibration load, the stress of Break-joint Mode was greater than that of Non-joint mode. This is a different result from the static mechanics concept that a segment ring consisting of a combination of short members is integrated in the circumferential direction, resulting in a smaller stress than Non-joint mode with a relatively longer member length.

A Study on the Chattering under Cryogenic Flow Test of a Oxidizer Shutoff Valve (산화제 개폐밸브의 극저온 유동시험에서 채터링의 고찰)

  • The oxidizer shutoff valve of a gas generator controls the mass flow rate of the propellant of a rocket engine using pilot pressure and spring the force of the valve. The developing oxidizer shutoff valve can be shut off if the pilot pressure is removed from the actuator. Therefore, force balancing is necessary to analyze the characteristics of the forces with respect to the opening and closing of the valve in order to evaluate its performance. In light of this, the valve has been designed to adjust the control pressure required to open the poppet and to determine the working fluid pressure at which the valve starts to close. Under cryogenic flow test as a tests level of C.R.T(Control Random Test), the chattering phenomena occurred due to much leakage of a metal seat section. The pressure for chattering of the oxidizer valve is predicted at about 11 bar using force balancing analysis.

  • In this paper, we proposed real time free-length monitoring systems interlocking with the spring free-length sorter which shows the state of production connected to the spring production device. This systems enable the administrator to check the quality or quantity of product and the defect rate, etc., in the remote place. The proposed systems are comprised of the wireless device interlocking with PLC device, the server program, and user GUI program. The wireless device transmits the received data from PLC device to server program using Wi-Fi. Server program represents the data from the wireless device on the screen and insert those data into database. User GUI program shows data stored in database and supports the function which converts the stored data in DB to excel file.

  • The two degree of freedom model is proposed to study the effects of imperfect fixing at the active end of spring-top resonant column apparatus. A computer program using the SYMPHONY spreadsheet is developed to calculate the dimensionless frequency, F, from which modulug can be determined. It is found that the effect of reaction mass through the parameter Tr on dimensionless frequency, F, can not be ignored if Tr$\leq$20. As To increases, the variation of F increases. But for Tr$\geq$ 20, the effect of To becomes small. It is recommended that T. be greater than 20 if single degree of freedom model is rosed to determine modulus of soil. It also is found that damping ratios of specimen and apparatus do not strongly affect the dimensionless frequency, F.

  • This study investigates the reinforcing effects of the Multi-bar Spring nails with respect to the conventional Soil-nails in artificial slopes. Based on wide experience related to design and construction, soil nails have been widely applied to reinforce slope in the world. Multi-bar spring nails are one of the improved soil nailing methods. These method maximizes bending, shearing, pull-out resistance for those multi-nails, not unit nail, that are inserted in the borehole using special spacer at regular intervals. In addition, because cutting plane is confined effect resulting from a pressured plate at the end of the nails with compression spring equipment, slope stability is secured using MS-nailing method. Analyzing bending, pull-out, shearing condition of MS-nail, it was examined throughly elastic region, load transfer capacity, reinforcing effect on cutting plate of MS-nails. In addition, Pilot and laboratory tests, numerical analysis were carried out to verify the superiority of MS-nailing method. In case, MS nailing method is applied to reinforce artificial slope, it was analyzed that bending, pull-out, shearing resistance was increased more than existing nailing method was applied. In this study, it was shown that surface failure was more or less prevented using MS-nailing method, confining effect on cutting plane using spring stuck to flexible equipment.

  • 누설방지를 목적으로 산업용 기계에서 많이 사용되고 있는 기계평면시일(mechanical face seal)은 기능상 높은 신뢰도를 요구하고 있다. 이를 위하여 동적 안정성이 커야되고, 밀봉된 유체의 누설을 최소화시킬 수 있는 정도에서 시일의 수명을 결정해야 한다. 이와같이 상반된 성질을 동시에 만족시키기 위하여 시일 성능에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 기하학적 요인들을 고려하여 해석해야 한다. 일반적으로 미끄럼 접촉운동을 하고 있는 시일에서 시일링 간극(sealing gap)이 수 micron 단위라는 점을 고려할때 시일 조립시 중심맞추기(alignnment) 정미\ulcorner 결여 및 회전축의 자중량 등에 의한 기계적 변형(mechanical distortion), 특히 고온의 분위기에서 작동되고 있는 시일의 열변형(thermal distortion)은 시일의 경사집에 커다란 영햐을 주고 있다. 또한 누설을 최소화시킬 목적으로 시일 링(seal ring) 을 시일의 경사짐에 커다란 영향을 주고 있는 스프링의 강성도를 증가시키면 상대 미끄럼 운동을 하고 있는 접촉명이 건조마찰에 의한 마멸이 진행되어 코닝(coning)현상이 생긴다. 시일 평면에서 코닝 현상은 시일의 축방향 분리력(axial separtating force)과 경사 모우면트(tilting moment)에 커다란 영향을 주고 있는 것으로 알여졌다. 이들의 연구는 주로 경사진 시일평판에 시일근사치이논(seal approximation bhoryl)을 이용하여 1차원 비압축성에 관한 시월 성능을 해석하였다. 본 연구에서는 비압축성 유체의 점성이 온도에 의하여 변화를 일으키는 조건하에서 경사진 회전시일에 코닝이 발생되었을때 시일링 각극에서의 압력분포를 ㅈ차원인 경우에 대하여 수치적으로 해석을 하였다.

  • 최근 국제적으로 지진 발생 규모가 증대하고 있으며, 우리나라를 비롯한 많은 나라에서 구조물 및 주요 시설물에 대한 내진설계에 관심이 증대되고 있다. 지진방재는 건물자체의 안전성뿐만 아니라 내부설비 및 소장품에 대한 안전성까지 종합적으로 검토되어야 하며 이를 위한 대책이 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구의 주요목적은 예측 불가한 자연재해인 지진에 대해 일반적인 면진성능을 갖는 기초격리장치로서의 기능을 충실히 수행할 수 있는지를 확인하기 위하여 면진장치를 사용한 구조물의 면진효과를 검증하는 것이다. 또한 설계된 스프링의 탄성계수에 따른 실제 지진 시 응답의 차이를 알아보기 위하여 공진실험 및 진동대 실험을 실시하여 면진테이블 시스템의 면진성능을 평가하였다. 진동대 실험은 미국 "NEBS Requirements"에서 규정하는 요구응답스펙트럼에 상응하는 임의 지진파를 적용하였고 각각 x축과 z축 가진 후, x-y-z 축을 동시에 가진하여 수행하였다. 시험응답스펙트럼(Test Response Spectrum)은 요구응답스펙트럼(RRS)에 포락하도록 시험하여 최대가속도는 x축 방향 가진 시 90%의 감쇠효과가 나타났으며, 3축 방향 가진 시 x축 방향은 58%, y축 방향은 31%의 감쇠효과가 나타났다. 최대상대변위는 설계스트로크 140mm에 대하여 최대 85.54mm의 변위가 발생하여 안정적인 거동을 나타내었다. 본 연구에서 제안한 면진테이블 시스템은 중요 첨단장비 및 문화재 등의 전도 및 파괴를 방지하는 데 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.

  • Most of explorer robot in past has the fixed magnitude and communicate with wire communication method. In case of various range of pipe's width and various angle in pipe inter structure, the exploring work is very difficult. Thus, in this paper, we design as dealing with spring tension with pushing out pipe exterior, and applied RF communication. We can accept good performance both structure change and improvement of ability, monitor and collect the defaults data in pipe inter structure. Newly designed and developed pipe explorer robot is very advantageous to carrying and driving as being small and law weight.

Geovisualization of Coastal Ocean Model Data Using Web Services and Smartphone Apps (웹서비스와 스마트폰앱을 이용한 연안해양모델 예측자료의 시각화시스템 구현)

  • Ocean leisure sports have recently emerged as one of so-called blue ocean industries. They are sensitive to diverse environmental conditions such as current, temperature, and salinity, which can increase needs of forecasting data as well as in-situ observations for the ocean. In this context, a Web-based geovisualization system for coastal information produced by model forecasts was implemented for use in supporting various ocean activities. First, FVCOM(Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model) was selected as a forecasting model, and its data was preprocessed by a spatial interpolation and sampling library. The interpolated raster data for water surface elevation, temperature, and salinity were stored in image files, and the vector data for currents including speed and direction were imported into a distributed DBMS(Database Management System). Web services in REST(Representational State Transfer) API(Application Programming Interface) were composed using Spring Framework and integrated with desktop and mobile applications developed on the basis of hybrid structure, which can realize a cross-platform environment for geovisualization.
