  • Web applications haute different structural characteristics from conventional applications. A web application typically consists of server-side script elements which run on web sowers, client-side script elements which run on the client web-browser, link elements that the user clicks, and event elements that connect user-triggered request to the client script elements. These four elements are combined to form a web application. In such environments, direct application of conventional methods for measuring application complexity may not be possible, because they are primarily designed to measure complexity of modules and classes. In this paper, therefore, we propose metrics of Cyclomatic Complexity for Web Application (CCWA). We developed a tool to measure such metrics and applied it to the real-world examples. We found that the proposed CCWA metrics can be used for measuring complexity of highly complex web applications, which is not possible with conventional module and class based measurement techniques.

  • Optimal conditions of 40 Gbps RZ format for implementation of optical time division multiplexing/wavelength division multiplexing (OTDM/WDM) transmission system are induced by analyzing and comparing performance depending on duty cycle and extinction ratio (ER). Optical phase conjugator (OPC) and inline dispersion management (DM) are applied into optical transmission links for compensating signal distortion due to chromatic dispersion and nonlinearity of fiber. It is confirmed that RZ format of 0.25 duty cycle is less effected by system performance change depending on ER and it is suitable for multiplexing to 160 Gbps signal through OTDM. Also, it is shown that performance improvement of RZ format determined by same net residual dispersion (NRD) is more increased as residual dispersion per span (RDPS) becomes large.

  • A medium access control protocol is proposed for integrated voice and data services in the packet CDMA network with a small coverage. Uplink channels are composed of time slots and multiple spreading codes for each slot. This protocol gives higher access priority to the delay-sensitive voice traffic than to the data traffic. During a talkspurt, voice terminals reserve a spreading code to transmit multiple voice packets. On the other hand, whenever generating a data packet, data terminals transmit a packet based on the status information of spreading codes in the current slot, which is received from base station. In this protocol, voice packet does not come into collision with data packet. Therefore, this protocol can increase the maximum number of voice terminals.

  • This paper presents the development of a monitoring and control system for a vehicle cluster using a model-based design technique. For MBD(model-based design), MATLAB GUI(Graphic User Interface), M programs, simulink, state flow, and tool boxes are used to monitor a number of data such as warning, interrupts, and etc. connected to a real vehicle cluster. As a monitoring tool, a PC(Personal Computer) station interworks with the real vehicle cluster through the interface commands of tool boxes. Thus, unlike existing text-based designs, the MBD based vehicle cluster system provides very easy algorithm updates and addition, since it offers a number of blocks and state flow programs for each functional actions. Furthermore, the proposed MBD technique reduces the required time and cost for the development and modification of a vehicle cluster, because of verification and validation of the cluster algorithm on the monitor through a PC.

And the effect of target reset was analyzed by simulation. The designed module consists of UHF(ultra high frequency) receiver section, control section, and power distribution section. The UHF receiver section performs frequency down conversion, filtering and automatic gain control, etc. The control section demodulates frequency down-converted signals, extracts information, and performs external interworking. The power distribution section supplies external power, generates and supplies the power required by each section. The fabricated module was dimension of $105{\times}105{\times}80mm$ and weighed 1.10 kg and The receiving distance is more than 50 km.

  • We investigate BER (Bit Error Ratio) performance according to the gain of spatial and frequency diversities in uplink SC-FDMA of SIMO (Single Input Multiple Output) systems. The main results of the analysis in this paper are as follows. First, we prove that performance of integrated system for considering spatial and frequency diversity combining in parallel is equivalent with the performance of sequential system for performing diversity combining in sequence. By signal modeling, it is demonstrated that the performances of both systems are the same when the frequency diversity combining technique of the sequential system is equal to diversity combining technique of the integrated system, and spatial diversity combining technique of the sequential system is performed as MRC in advance of frequency diversity combining. Secondly, it is found that effect on the BER performance is different according to the gain of spatial and frequency diversities, respectively. The frequency diversity gain increases by increasing the number of subcarrier. It might affect the performance improvement of high SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) while it maintains gap between performances of ZF(Zero Forcing) and MMSE(Minimum Mean Square Error) in frequency diversity combining schemes. Also, spatial diversity gain increases as the number of receiving antennas increases. It means that it can reduce performance gap between ZF and MMSE in frequency diversity combining schemes by increasing the number of receiving antennas. In addition, it might affect the performance improvement of the whole SNR. Finally, through the analysis of performance according to the spatial diversity gain, the performance of ZF in frequency diversity combining is equal to the MMSE if the number of receiving antennas is 6 or more.

  • In this paper, we propose a selective DFT spreading method to solve a high PAPR problem in uplink OFDMA system. A selective characteristic is added to the DFT spreading, so the DFT spreading method is mixed with SLM method. However, to minimize increment of computational complexity, differently with common SLM method, our proposed method uses only one DFT spreading block. After DFT, several copy branches are generated by multiplying with each different matrix. This matrix is obtained by linear transforming the each phase rotation in front of DFT block. And it has very lower computational complexity than one DFT process. For simulation, we suppose that the 512 point IFFT is used, the number of effective sub-carrier is 300, the number of allowed sub-carrier to each user's is 1/4 and 1/3 and QPSK modulation is used. From the simulation result, when the number of copy branch is 4, our proposed method has more than about 5.2 dB PAPR reduction effect. It is about 1.8 dB better than common DFT spreading method and 0.95 dB better than common SLM which uses 32 copy branches. And also, when the number of copy branch is 2, it is better than SLM using 32 copy branches. From the comparison, the proposed method has 91.79 % lower complexity than SLM using 32 copy branches in similar PAPR reduction performance. So, we can find a very good performance of our proposed method. Also, we can expect the similar performance when all number of sub-carrier is allocated to one user like the OFDM.

  • In this paper, the performance of a multicarrier CDMA system applying M-ary orthogonal signaling and adaptive subchannel allocation scheme is analyzed for forward links in Rayleigh fading channel. Also, the effect of error caused by subchannel allocation is analyzed. In the proposed system, each DS waveform is transmitted over the subchannel having the biggest fading among L subchannels. Considering M-ary orthogonal signaling and 4 subchannels, the BER of $10^{-3}$ is satisfied if SNRs are 7.33 dB, 5.33 dB, and 4.47 dB for k = 1, 2, and 3, respectively. Therefore, SNR is decreased as k is increased. If the error of subchannels exists, the BER of $10^{-3}$ is met if SNR is 8.18 dB in the absence of M-ary orthogonal signaling. So, a required SNR is declined about 0.85 dB. Adding the M-ary orthogonal signaling with k = 4, it is observed that the multicarrier CDMA system has performance improvement because a required SNR is 5.44 dB.

  • Vehicle communication can facilitate efficient coordination among vehicles on the road and enable future vehicular applications such as vehicle safety enhancement, infotainment, or even autonomous driving. In the $3^{rd}$ Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), many studies focus on long term evolution (LTE)-based vehicle communication. Because vehicle speed is high enough to cause severe channel distortion in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) environments. We can utilize channel estimation methods to approach a reliable vehicle communication systems. Conventional channel estimation schemes can be categorized as least-squares (LS), decision-directed channel estimation (DDCE), spectral temporal averaging (STA), and smoothing methods. In this study, we propose a smart channel estimation scheme in LTE-based V2V environments. The channel estimation scheme, based on an LTE uplink system, uses a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) as the pilot symbol. Unlike conventional channel estimation schemes, we propose an adaptive smoothing channel estimation scheme (ASCE) using quadratic smoothing (QS) of the pilot symbols, which estimates a channel with greater accuracy and adaptively estimates channels in data symbols. In simulation results, the proposed ASCE scheme shows improved overall performance in terms of the normalized mean square error (NMSE) and bit error rate (BER) relative to conventional schemes.
