Structural Analysis using Equivalent Models of Active Control Devices (능동형 제진장치의 등가모델을 이용한 구조해석)

  • In this paper, equivalent models for active control devices are proposed so that building structures with such devices are analyzed using commercial structural analysis programs for the assessment of the structural members under active vibration control. Equivalent link models represent active control device with a virtual linear spring and dashpot, and equivalent force models are control force history acting at the installation point in structural models. Active controllers are designed based on the reduced-order models for a vertical cantilever model and a high-rise building model and corresponding equivalent models are determined from control gain matrices. Based on acceleration, displacement and member force responses, the effectiveness of the equivalent models is verified. As a result, proposed equivalent models, of which equivalent link model showed better performance, appear to enable detailed investigation of structural behavior to the extent of member force level.

  • In this paper, we programed the PPP(Point-to-Point Protocol) used in embedded application environments for Globalstar Satellite Modem. There are number of satellite communication systems such as Orbcomm, Globalstar, Inmarsat and etc. But each satellite data service have provided a communication interface only for their own data links. A data communication link is needed to communicate with Globalstar satellite service. Globalstar communication system uses PPP to establish data communication link, so we implemented the embedded processor based PPP protocol. The user terminal equipment also designed in this paper has various input/output devices and sensors applicable to any user specific application. The proposed PPP program works well with Globalstar data communication link through experimental tests.

  • As the space debris in the satellite orbit increases, the risk of collision between the currently operating satellites and the space debris is continuously increasing. Therefore, in this study, we designed one-degree-of-freedom capture device using simple deployment mechanism. The capture device consists of four link groups connected with net. To increase the reliability, each link group is connected to one driving part so that the total degree of freedom is 1. In addition, the links were stowed on each side of the satellites so that they would not affect the janitor satellite mission. Finally, to confirm the possibility of deployment in the space environment, we carried out deployment experiments in water similar to the microgravity environment, and confirmed the deployment of capture device and the possibility of capturing target satellite.

  • In various types of UAV systems, which have been developed recently, the communication system that is responsible for the connection between the ground control unit and the UAV is called the data link.Especially, in the data link used in systems for transmission of surveillance images from UAV in real time, stability of communication should be ensured. In this paper, the design of the data link modem was proposed for the purpose of applying for UAV for surveillance. And, the designed wad verified through the performance measurement of the implemented systems.

Design of variable 4-bar linkage structure for adjustable driving angle (구동 각도 조절이 가능한 가변형 4절링크 설계)

  • Since 4-bar linkage widely used in various industrial fields has a fixed link length, it is inconvenient to add an independent link structure or control device to change the movement of output link. Therefore, this paper proposes a new concept of variable 4-bar linkage mechanism to selectively adjust the movement of the output link to fit desired situations, and applied to the commercial table fans, which is a representative product using a 4-bar linkage system. The optimal rotation angle steps for efficiency are determined experimentally and the appropriate lengths of linkage to fit each step are calculated analytically. Changes in the linkage length are implemented by the rotational motion using a grooved cylindrical cam and the feasibility of the proposed variable linkage mechanism is verified through fabrication and measurement. The presented variable link mechanism is expected to improve the efficiency of industrial robots and fuel valve systems.

The Burst Effect Analysis of 2.5 Gb/s TDM-PON Systems Using a SOA Link Extender (반도체광증폭기로 전송거리 확장된 2.5 Gb/s TDM-PON에서 버스트 효과에 의한 신호왜곡 분석)

  • A bidirectional TDM-PON link to support 2.5 Gb/s upstream signals of 256 ONUs was considered for an extended transmission distance of 50 km. The power budget of the link was 58 dB for the upstream signal and a SOA was applied as a link extender which had a 25 dB gain. Receiver sensitivity of the upstream signal was -25 dBm for -30 dBm input power to the SOA. When the input power was -10 dBm, pulse overshooting caused by gain transient of the SOA was maximum at 45% and the signal performance degradation gave a power penalty of 1.55 dB for $10^{-12}$ BER. However the penalties diminished rapidly and became negligible as the input power went below -15 dBm. So this input power dynamic range of up to -15 dBm means that it is not positively necessary to use gain control methods for the next generation TDM-PON systems.

  • As a link composition of a double link type level luffing jib crane was determinated through the link composition design, the design to be considered will be computations of the luffing trajectory deviation at the fly jib tip and the required luffing device capacity. This paper is a study regarding the static and dynamic analysis for a mechanism of the crane. The objective of the static analysis is to determinate the capacity and the dimension of luffing device when the crane selfload, rated hoisting load, wind load and inertia force are applied on the crane. The objective of dynamic analysis is to compute the luffing trajectory deviation, velocity and inertia force due to luffing acceleration for each link. All analyses are performed by computer programs. The reliability of the program was checked by results from analyses of the related commercial package. It is expected that the productivity and reliability of the design can be improved by this program which can rapidly and exactly deal with static and dynamic analysis for a given link composition of the crane.

  • 기존의 에너지 저장장치를 갖는 계통연계형 태양광 발전 시스템은 태양광 모듈의 높은 개방전압으로 인하여 별도의 양방향 컨버터를 이용하여 배터리에 에너지를 충방전 해왔다. 이러한 시스템은 구조상 다수의 반도체 소자의 사용으로 인한 제작단가 상승 및 전기적 절연의 문제가 발생한다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 새로운 구조의 에너지 저장장치를 갖는 고주파 링크 방식의 계통연계형 태양광 발전 시스템을 제안하며, 제안된 시스템의 이론적 분석을 수행하고, PSIM 시뮬레이션 툴을 이용한 모의 실험을 통해 그 우수성을 검증한다.

  • According to the computerization of railway signaling systems, the interface link between these signaling equipment is also replaced by digital communication channel, expecially communication link for interface between EIS and LDTS, but there are some problems in the present state of railway signaling. First of all, different communication protocol is applied to interface between above two signaling equipment although they have same functions. The other is that the communication protocol currently used in railway field has some unreasonable points such as structure, formation of byte, error correction scheme and etc. To solve these problems, the standard communication protocol for railway signaling is designed. The structure of designed communication protocol and the results of performance analyses are represented in this paper. It will be expected the increase of safety, reliability and efficiency of maintenance of signaling system by using of the designed communication protocol for railway signaling.

  • In this Paper, We analysed the technical characteristics of a automatic identification system that will introduce in aviation and marine radio stations. IMO's Marine Safety Committee approved revision of chapter V of the Safety of Life at Sea(SOLAS) Convention in 73rd meeting. According to this, AIS will become a mandatory carriage requirement by 01 July 2002. AIS as a surveillance system continuously receives its own position from the GNSS and then repeatedly broadcasts it on a W:.u data link for avoiding traffic conflicts and possible disasters. VHF data link is organized so that a specified number of time slots make up a repeatable frame. Each radio station can autonomously allocate and deallocate slots within the frame using selection algorithm which is called SOTDMA(Self-Organized Time Division Multiple Access). The results can be an aid in the continued of understanding technical characteristics for AIS as a broad surveillance system.
