Recently, remote controls for home appliances have been produced as many as the number of home appliances per household, and new home appliances are being released, but the number of new remote controls is continuously increasing due to their separate functions. Therefore, it is not inconvenient for first time users to use many remote controls because it is difficult and bulky. In recent years, the practical use of a universal remote control, such as large companies such as SAMSUNG and LG are producing a variety of forms. In this paper, we explain how to transmit and receive data format and infrared remote control through custom code identification method used in IR remote control for each company, and to see the size, characteristics and difference with ordinary remote control through ATmega128 remote control experiment. The ATmega128 can be used to control various home appliances displayed on the LCD. As a result, it can be seen that the number of remote controllers having only each function is reduced, and the integrated remote controller using ATmega128 Can handle household appliances.

스마트 폰의 선풍적인 인기에 힘입어 TV 산업에서도 스마트TV가 출현해 시장 영역을 넓히고 있다. 이에 따라 TV 리모컨 또한 새로운 방식의 유저 인터페이스를 지원하는 하나의 스마트 리모컨으로 업그레이드 되고 있으며, 스마트 리모컨을 통한 홈 멀티미디어 디바이스의 통합 제어와 미디어 공유에 대한 여러 가지 시도가 이루어지고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 DLNA 환경 속 스마트 리모컨과 TV 디바이스의 역할에 대해 재 정의하고, 이를 기반으로 DLNA 및 UPnP 디바이스 아키텍처에 제시된 컨트롤 포인트와 디바이스 간 제어 및 미디어 공유 절차에 따라 스마트 리모컨을 통한 TV의 제어 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 스마트 리모컨을 통한 TV의 제어는, 크게 사용자와 무관한 백그라운드 스레드로 처리될 제어 준비 단계와 사용자의 입력을 통해 실질적인 제어를 수행하는 제어 단계로 나뉘고, 각각의 단계에 해당하는 UPnP 미디어 네트워크 단계에 맞춰 진행된다. 제안된 DLNA 환경 속 TV 제어 방법의 구현을 위해서는 선행적으로 TV OSD 제어를 위한 코드에 연동해 TV 디바이스 서비스 서술자의 확장이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

Remote control for consumer electronics products that nowadays are divided by the state only performs each function. In any case, there is also the case that the number of losing too many messes Where remote control. In this paper, the reason and remote control using infrared remote control transmission, will be able to see the modulation method of the received remote control method. The experiment will be able to see that by looking at the LCD to ATmega128 control home appliances (TV, air conditioning, etc.). As a result, it will be able to deal with a single remote control electronics to reduce the number of the remote control to handle all further electronics in the home.

사물인터넷 리모콘은 스마트폰 애플리케이션으로 제어하고 있다. 그러나 제조사가 다른 디바이스를 사용할 경우 여러 애플리케이션을 설치하여 사용하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 스마트 홈 환경에서 사물인터넷 디바이스와 서비스를 통합 제어할 수 있는 사물인터넷 리모컨을 제안한다. 사물인터넷 리모컨을 WiFi를 통해 인터넷에 연결하고 서비스 서버를 통해 버튼 입력 이벤트를 다른 디바이스 혹은 서비스로 전송하여 직접 제어할 수 있는 사물인터넷 리모컨이다. 그리고 사물인터넷 리모컨의 초기 설정을 위한 애플리케이션과의 연동 테스트를 진행하였다.

사용자가 필요에 따라 부가적으로 구매하는 통합 리모컨은 사용자 편의 측면에서의 접근성과 효율성이 매우 중요하다. 이러한 사용자 편의가 보장된 상태에서 부가적인 기능성이 제공될 때 사용성을 높일 수 있다. 하지만 기존 통합형 리모컨의 경우 제한된 기능과 설정의 불편함이 있으며, 최근 스마트화 되고 있는 가전기기의 제어에는 한계점이 존재한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 통합형 리모컨의 제한된 기능을 개선하고, 사용자 접근을 손쉽게 한 통합 리모컨을 제안한다.

In order to develop a more useful and ergonomically attractive remote controller, I peformed experiments with various subjects to define factors that may obstruct the usability of remote controllers for multifunction A/V appliances. I also performed the experiments to evaluate other factors that were created to improve the usability of them, and showed that remote controllers with the improved factors are more efficient and more attractive to use. I analyzed about 40 types of remote controllers for various A/V appliances to understand impediment factors of usability. By this analysis I found the factors that affected the usability of them, and developed three types of improved remote controllers for the next version of $Play@TV^{TM}$ also set the subjects with the task of usability tests with an existing remote controller and the three newly chosen remote controllers, and those results were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the 'B type' remote controller took less time to perform the same tasks by 9.2% than the existing remote controller. I concluded that the usability factors of remote controllers - function receptivity, presentation of a tactile clue, reasonable size and weight, how to arrange the main buttons, grouping of related functions - will be useful and effective to improve the usability of A/V appliances.

과거에는 시스템이 돌아가기만 하면 되지 편리함이나 사용자의 취향을 고려하는 것은 모두 사치라는 생각이 있었다. 그러나 현재는 단순히 사용성에 근거한 시스템만으로는 그 시스템이 좋은 시스템이라고 평가 받기에는 부족한 면이 있다. 이제는 시스템이 HCI 관점에서 평가되며, 이때 시스템개발의 최종목적은 단순히 동작하는 시스템을 만드는 것이 아니라 사용자들에게 최적의 경험을 제공할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하는 것이다. 이러한 최적의 경험은 시스템과의 상호작용이 유용하고, 편리하며, 직관적이어야 얻을 수 있다. 일반적으로 TV 리모컨은 화면에 미리 지정된 부분들을 순차적으로 이동하는 간접 이동 방식으로 매우 간단한 인터랙션만을 제공해 준다. 본 논문에서는 사용자에게 보다 직관적인 인터페이스를 제공해주기 위해 리모컨의 기능을 확장한 프로젝터 기반의 가상 리모컨을 제안한다. 가상리모컨은 사용자가 원하는 위치에 생성될 수 있으며, 기존의 TV 리모컨과 같이 미리 지정된 메뉴 사이를 이동해서 제한된 선택을 하는 것이 아니라, 보다 직관적인 인터페이스를 통해 직접 기기를 동작시키는 가상 체험을 느끼면서 조작할 수 있도록 해 준다. 실험을 통해, 기존의 TV 리모컨이 일정한 학습을 필요로 했던 것과는 달리, 체험자들은 사전 학습없이 TV의 주요 기능을 가상리모컨을 사용함으로써 쉽고 빠르게 컨트롤할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Most of existing integrated remote controllers can control only a group of home appliances made by the same manufacturer. And they cannot monitor the status of home appliances since they are based on analog RF(Radio Frequency) signal and operate in a uni-directional manner In this paper, we propose a software framework for a hi-directional universal remote controller(URC) which monitors the status of home appliances in Wireless Personal Area Network(WPAN). The URC can handle the control and status messages which consist of a command with related arguments. When a user wants to control any home appliance, the URC can be dynamically configured to its dedicated remote controller by generating a GUI according to its profile. Any other devices which have a capacity for understanding the profile from the controlled devices can play the same role of the URC.

본 연구에서는 사용성 테스트와 사용자 설문조사 단계를 거쳐 고연령계층 사용자를 고려한 통합 리모컨 버튼 레이아웃을 도출하여 고연령층의 사용편의성이 반영된 리모컨의 사용성을 향상시키고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 일차적으로 신체, 인지심리적인 고연령층의 인간요소(human factor)들을 추출한 다음, 고연령계층 중 연령대별 남녀 사용자를 모집하여 현재 사용되는 기존의 리모컨으로 사용자에게 과제를 부과하여 사용성 테스트와 설문조사를 실시하였다. 사용성 테스트 결과를 중심으로, 통합 리모컨 버튼 레이아웃 디자인 시 반영되어야 할 필수 기능 버튼의 도출과, 버튼 배열의 최적화된 모델을 제시 할 수 있었다. 또한 이러한 과정을 통해 UI 디자인 시 지켜져야 할 세가지 요소인, 연관있는 기능의 동일요소 부여로 동작의 상호 의사소통을 고려해야한다는 것(유사성)과 유사기능간 근접배치로 사용자가 동작할 수 있는 버튼을 쉽게 이해하도록 해 주어야 한다는 것(근접성), 그리고 예상되는 연속 동작의 기능을 동선을 고려해서 배치해야 한다는 것(연속성)을 확인하였다. 마지막으로, 한 가지 기준에 의한 일률적인 버튼 배열보다 사용자의 요구사항과 인지적 한계를 반영한 그룹핑을 고려한 버튼 배열이 사용성을 높이는 중요한 요인이라는 것을 알 수 있었다.

A Multi-Vision needs an image adjust of each product to make the same picture quality for all products when it's installed. Owing to this reason need individual control. This document request indivisual control method for each product with the Remote controller. To realize this method need make Set ID and Picture ID on the UI and need daisy chain of cable to connect Remocon code(IR Signal) In to Out, After allocation the Set ID for each product. Picture ID of the product which want to change picture quality make equal to Set ID. And the product which is same Set ID and Picture ID is only controlled through decoding of Remocon code to Scaler.
