롤러 베어링의 동역학 해석을 위한 접촉 모델링 기법의 검증 (Validation of Contact Modeling Technique for Dynamic Analysis of Roller Bearing System)

  • In this paper, an analytical model is developed to describe the dynamic characteristics of a roller bearing. In order to obtain accurate dynamic response of roller bearing, each roller is modeled as a rigid body, which has radial and axial movement and rotational constraints. Beam element between outer race segments is used to consider flexibility of outer race. Beam deflection is calculated from beam forces and used for contact between roller and outer race. The efficient contact search kinematics and algorithms in the context of the compliance contact model are implemented to detect the interactions between roller and race for the sake of speedy and robust solutions. The numerical results are validated with another analysis results which are calculated using waviness condition. Increasing rollers, dynamic responses are compared with each other. In order to confirm dynamic behavior and nonlinear characteristic of roller bearing, Poincare map is used.

  • When a bearing roller is in contact with race ways. excessive pressure peaks occur at the ends of the contact region. They are called edge loading. In this study, a method to determinate crowning quantity of the tapered roller bearing which considers tilting. This method is based on contact analysis.

  • This study establishes a numerical analysis model of the finite element overhung rotor supported by a DTRB and describes the stiffness properties of the DTRB. The vibration characteristics and contact pressure of the RBR system are predicted according to the DTRB support characteristics such as the initial axial compression and roller profile. The stiffness of the DTRB significantly varies depending on the initial axial compression and external load owing to the occurrence of rollers under the no-load condition and increase in the Hertz contact force. The increase in the initial axial compression increases the rigidity of the DTRB, thereby reducing the displacement of the RBR system and simultaneously increasing the natural frequency. However, above a certain initial axial compression, the effect becomes insignificant, and an excessive increase in the initial axial compression increases the contact pressure. The roller crowning radius, which gives a curvature in the longitudinal direction of the roller, decreases the displacement of the RBR system and increases the natural frequency as the value increases. However, an increase in the crowning radius increases the edge stress, causing a negative effect in terms of the contact pressure. These results show that the DTRB support characteristics required for reducing the vibration and contact pressure of the RBR system supported by the DTRB can be designed.

  • A new automatic diagnostic system for predicting multiple defects in rolling element bearings is developed by taking probbability into account. A database is constructed from the frequency characteristics of tested bearings with various types of defects. The proposed algorithms for the automatic diagnosis of bearing defects are shown to be satisfactory through the experiments. This method can be effectively used for quality control of the rolling bearing in plants.

  • 일반적으로 접촉 피로 마멸은 구름 또는 미끄럼 접촉시 작용하는 반복 응력에 의해 표면과 표면 아래에 균열이 형성되고 성장 및 합체의 과정을 거쳐 표면의 일부가 떨어져 나가는 손상으로 기어나 캠-롤러, 구름 베어링과 같이 구름-미끄럼 접촉상태로 운전하는 기계요소에서 가장 중요하게 고려되어야 할 파손 메커니즘이다. 특히 기어나 구름 베어링 같이 고주기 접촉 피로 특성을 지니는 기계요소의 수명은 피로수명 실험과 통계적 기법을 이용한 Weibull 이론을 기초로 한 수명식을 대부분 사용하고 있다.(중략)
