The GEO-Localization of a Mobile Mapping System (모바일 매핑 시스템의 GEO 로컬라이제이션)

  • When a mobile mapping system or a robot is equipped with only a GPS (Global Positioning System) and multiple stereo camera system, a transformation from a local camera coordinate system to GPS coordinate system is required to link camera poses and 3D data by V-SLAM (Vision based Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) to GIS data or remove the accumulation error of those camera poses. In order to satisfy the requirements, this paper proposed a novel method that calculates a camera rotation in the GPS coordinate system using the three pairs of camera positions by GPS and V-SLAM, respectively. The propose method is composed of four simple steps; 1) calculate a quaternion for two plane's normal vectors based on each three camera positions to be parallel, 2) transfer the three camera positions by V-SLAM with the calculated quaternion 3) calculate an additional quaternion for mapping the second or third point among the transferred positions to a camera position by GPS, and 4) determine a final quaternion by multiplying the two quaternions. The final quaternion can directly transfer from a local camera coordinate system to the GPS coordinate system. Additionally, an update of the 3D data of captured objects based on view angles from the object to cameras is proposed. This paper demonstrated the proposed method through a simulation and an experiment.

A Progressive Rendering Method to Enhance the Resolution of Point Cloud Contents (포인트 클라우드 콘텐츠 해상도 향상을 위한 점진적 렌더링 방법)

  • Point cloud content is immersive content that represents real-world objects with three-dimensional (3D) points. In the process of acquiring point cloud data or encoding and decoding point cloud data, the resolution of point cloud content could be degraded. In this paper, we propose a method of progressively enhancing the resolution of sequential point cloud contents through inter-frame registration. To register a point cloud, the iterative closest point (ICP) algorithm is commonly used. Existing ICP algorithms can transform rigid bodies, but there is a disadvantage that transformation is not possible for non-rigid bodies having motion vectors in different directions locally, such as point cloud content. We overcome the limitations of the existing ICP-based method by registering regions with motion vectors in different directions locally between the point cloud content of the current frame and the previous frame. In this manner, the resolution of the point cloud content with geometric movement is enhanced through the process of registering points between frames. We provide four different point cloud content that has been enhanced with our method in the experiment.

A New Stereo Matching Algorithm based on Variable Windows using Frequency Information in DWT Domain (DWT 영역에서의 주파수 정보를 활용한 가변 윈도우 기반의 스테레오 정합 알고리즘)

  • In this paper we propose a new stereo matching algorithm which is suitable for application to obtain depth information with high-speed in stereoscopic camera environment. For satisfying these condition we propose a new adaptive stereo matching technique using frequency information in discrete wavelet (DWT) domain and variable matching window. The size of the matching window is selected by analysis of the local property of the image in spatial domain and the feature and scaling factor of the matching window is selected by the frequency property in the frequency domain. For using frequency information we use local DWT and global DWT. We identified that the proposed technique has better peak noise to signal ratio (PSNR) than the fixed matching techniques with similar complexity.

  • In this paper, a 1.5V 256kb eFlash memory IP with low area DC-DC converter is designed for battery application. Therefore, in this paper, 5V NMOS precharging transistor is used instead of cross-coupled 5V NMOS transistor, which is a circuit that precharges the voltage of the pumping node to VIN voltage in the unit charge pump circuit for the design of a low-area DC-DC converter. A 5V cross-coupled PMOS transistor is used as a transistor that transfers the boosted voltage to the VOUT node. In addition, the gate node of the 5V NMOS precharging transistor is made to swing between VIN voltage and VIN+VDD voltage using a boost-clock generator. Furthermore, to swing the clock signal, which is one node of the pumping capacitor, to full VDD during a small ring oscillation period in the multi-stage charge pump circuit, a local inverter is added to each unit charge pump circuit. And when exiting from erase mode and program mode and staying at stand-by state, HV NMOS transistor is used to precharge to VDD voltage instead of using a circuit that precharges the boosted voltage to VDD voltage. Since the proposed circuit is applied to the DC-DC converter circuit, the layout area of the 256kb eFLASH memory IP is reduced by about 6.5% compared to the case of using the conventional DC-DC converter circuit.

  • Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) created on the basis of blockchain have their own unique value, so they cannot be forged or exchanged with other tokens or coins. Using these characteristics, NFTs can be issued to digital assets such as images, videos, artworks, game characters, and items to claim ownership of digital assets among many users and objects in cyberspace, as well as proving the original. However, interest in NFTs exploded from the beginning of 2020, causing a lot of load on the blockchain network, and as a result, users are experiencing problems such as delays in computational processing or very large fees in the mining process. Additionally, all actions of users are stored in the blockchain, and digital assets are stored in a blockchain-based distributed file storage system, which may unnecessarily expose the personal information of users who do not want to identify themselves on the Internet. In this paper, we propose an NFT platform using cloud computing, access gate, conversion table, and cloud ID to improve usability and privacy problems that occur in existing system. For performance comparison between local and cloud systems, we measured the gas used for smart contract deployment and NFT-issued transaction. As a result, even though the cloud system used the same experimental environment and parameters, it saved about 3.75% of gas for smart contract deployment and about 4.6% for NFT-generated transaction, confirming that the cloud system can handle computations more efficiently than the local system.

Implementation for Hardware IP of Real-time Face Detection System (실시간 얼굴 검출 시스템의 하드웨어 IP 구현)

  • This paper propose the hardware IP of real-time face detection system for mobile devices and digital cameras required for high speed, smaller size and lower power. The proposed face detection system is robust against illumination changes, face size, and various face angles as the main cause of the face detection performance. Input image is transformed to LBP(Local Binary Pattern) image to obtain face characteristics robust against illumination changes, and detected the face using face feature data that was adopted to learn and generate in the various face angles using the Adaboost algorithm. The proposed face detection system can be detected maximum 36 faces at the input image size of QVGA($320{\times}240$), and designed by Verilog-HDL. Also, it was verified hardware implementation by using Virtex5 XC5VLX330 FPGA board and HD CMOS image sensor(CIS) for FPGA verification.

  • Grid accounting model is necessary to support the demand and supply of id resource. Most grid accounting systems currently in use intrude upon site autonomy by modifying local accounting systems or calculate the cost of grid service without regard to site price policy. In this paper we propose and design Grid accounting model based on site price policy. This model assures autonomy of sites participating in gird computing and be able to actively cope with diverse billing services. Also this proposed model enables to provide RUS to Grid entities by transforming basic accounting information into GGF-UR format and allows this entities to exchange resource usage information. In this paper, proposed Grid accounting model enables sites to have autonomy of them and is evaluated for business model to enforce elaborate charging policy, compared with other systems.

Data Type-Tolerant Component Model: A Method to Process Variability of Externalized Data (데이터 타입 무결성 컴포넌트 모델 : 외부화된 데이터 가변성 처리 기법)

  • Business entities with which most service components interact are kind of cross-cutting concerns in a multi-layered distributed application architecture. When business entities are modified, service components related to them should also be modified, even though they implement common functions of the application framework. This paper proposes what we call DTT (Data Type-Tolerant) component model to process the variability of business entities, or externalized data, which feature modern application architectures. The DTT component model expresses the data variability of product lines at the implementation level by means of SCDTs (Self-Contained Data Types) and variation point interfaces. The model improves the efficiency of application engineering through data type converters which support type conversion between SCDTs and business entities of particular applications. The value of this model lies in that data and functions are coupled locally in each component again by allowing service components to deal with SCDTs only instead of externalized business eutities.

Design of Optimized pRBFNNs-based Night Vision Face Recognition System Using PCA Algorithm (PCA알고리즘을 이용한 최적 pRBFNNs 기반 나이트비전 얼굴인식 시스템 설계)

  • In this study, we propose the design of optimized pRBFNNs-based night vision face recognition system using PCA algorithm. It is difficalt to obtain images using CCD camera due to low brightness under surround condition without lighting. The quality of the images distorted by low illuminance is improved by using night vision camera and histogram equalization. Ada-Boost algorithm also is used for the detection of face image between face and non-face image area. The dimension of the obtained image data is reduced to low dimension using PCA method. Also we introduce the pRBFNNs as recognition module. The proposed pRBFNNs consists of three functional modules such as the condition part, the conclusion part, and the inference part. In the condition part of fuzzy rules, input space is partitioned by using Fuzzy C-Means clustering. In the conclusion part of rules, the connection weights of pRBFNNs is represented as three kinds of polynomials such as linear, quadratic, and modified quadratic. The essential design parameters of the networks are optimized by means of Differential Evolution.

Collaborative System based on Social using XMDR-DAI for Business Process in Mobile Cloud (모바일 클라우드 환경에서 비즈니스 프로세스를 위한 XMDR-DAI를 이용한 소셜 기반의 협업 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose a social-based collaboration systems for business process management in the mobile cloud. This XMDR-DAI is to provide services for data sharing and exchange between local systems that operate independently in a cloud environment, take charge of a social-based collaborative business process management. Social-based collaborative business processes are handled in a collision among a structure such as unit conversion, meaning conflict, and the schema mapping data resulting from the inner query. The conflict was resolved by mapping process which takes in each XMDR-DAI.
