Intelligent robot is defined as a system that it judges autonomously based on sensory organ of sight, hearing etc.. analogously with human. Human communicates using nonverbal means such as gesture in addition to language. If robot understands such nonverbal communication means, robot may become familiar with human . HCI (Human Computer Interaction) technologies are studied vigorously including face recognition and gesture recognition, but they are many problems that must be solved in real conditions. In this paper, we introduce the importance of contents and give application example of technology stressed on the recent research result about gesture recognition technology as one of most natural communication method with human.

This paper proposes a hierachically structured navigation algorithm for multiple mobile robots under unknown dynamic environment. The proposed algorithm consists of three basic parts as follows. The first part based on the fuzzy rule generates the turning angle and moving distance of the robot for goal approach without obstacles. In the second part, using both fuzzy and neural network, the angle and distance of the robot to avoid collision with dynamic and static obstacles are obtained. The final adjustment of the weighting factor based on fuzzy rule for moving and avoiding distance of the robots is provided in the third stage. Some simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

This paper discusses a human body extraction method for intelligent robot system. The intelligent robot system requires more robust silhouette extraction method because it has internal vibration and low resolution. The new hybrid silhouette extraction method is proposed to overcome this constrained environment. The temporal and gradient information is combined as hybrid silhouette. The motion region model is used to adjust combining parameters in hybrid silhouette. Finally, the experimental results show the superiority of the proposed method.
Due to pandemic situations, the development of home robots that can make the house an optimized space for various activities is active. This study aims to confirm the effectiveness of approach or avoidance behavior for feedback positioning on the user experience, depending on the context in which the robot performs the task. Based on two types of the task contexts(Reactive vs. Proactive) and three types of robot feedback positioning(No move vs. Avoidance vs. Approach), six different scenarios were designed for experimental study. Likeability, perceived intelligence, rapport, negative attitude and predictability of behavior are measured for each conditions. The result showed the main effects of perceived intelligence, rapport, predictability in the context of tasks, and of likability, perceived intelligence, rapport in robot feedback positioning. The interaction effects were shown in likeability and perceived intelligence. In conclusion, approach-avoidance experiences can also be applied to robot behaviors as well, and the negative effects of avoidance have been significantly confirmed.

There are many researches to develop robots that improve its mobility to adapt in various uneven environments. In the paper, a hybrid wheeled and legged mobile robot is designed and a obstacle avoidance algorithm is proposed based on low power walking using LRF(Laser Range Finder). In order to stabilize the robot's motion and reduce energy consumption, we implement a low-power walking algorithm through comparison of the current value of each motors and correction of posture balance. A low-power obstacle avoidance algorithm is proposed by using LRF sensor. We improve walking stability by distributing power consumption and reduce energy consumption by selecting a shortest navigation path of the robot. The proposed methods are verified through walking and navigation experiments with the developed hybrid robot.

An intelligent robot with RSSI based indoor location estimation function was designed and implemented. A wireless sensor node was attached to the robot to received the location data from the indoor location estimation function. Spartan III was used as the main control device in the mobile robot. The current location data collected from the indoor location estimation system was transferred to the mobile robot and server through Zigbee/IEEE 802.15.4 wireless communication of the sensor node. Once the location data is received, the sensor node senses the direction of the robot head and directs the robot to move to its destination. Indoor location estimation intelligent robot is able to move efficiently and actively to the user appointed location by implementing the proposed obstacles avoidance algorithm. This system is able to monitor real-time environmental data and location of the robot using PC program. Indoor location estimation intelligent robot also can be controlled by executing the instructions sent from the PC program.

In elementary school software education, a programming process is experienced through a simple problem solving process. And even this experience emphasizes that the problem-solving process is a CS Unplugged activity. However, CS Unplugged has a disadvantage in that it only learns the principles of computing, and the learner cannot experience real problem solving. In this study, a learning program using artificial intelligence robots was developed with the goal of cultivating the ability to solve problems encountered in the real life of elementary school students. Students could solve complex problems in real life from the point of view of artificial intelligence through the developed program, and increase their interest and understanding of artificial intelligence education through robot control.
The introduction of Smart technologies such as Artificial Intelligence(AI) systems are have a powerful impact in a variety of industry fields. Some experts predict that smart technology will completely change people's daily life and work styles, causing technological innovation, productivity improvement, and discovery and emergence of new fields. On the one hand, this vision cannot ignore negative views and concerns. Despite many social debates about employment, such as job loss and rising unemployment, there have not been many studies based on employee experience that provide a fundamental solution to the conflict between AI and employment. Therefore, this study finds out the effects and related factors of AI concierge robots for hotel employees, focusing on the hotel industry, and how employees' perceptions of AI concierge robots affect user resistance and turnover intention. This study, conducted a questionnaire survey of 322 hotel employees who had experience working with AI concierge robots in China, and used SPSS and SmartPLS statistical analysis programs to draw conclusions. We found that hotel employees' perceptions of AI concierge robots were significantly related to user resistance and turnover intention, and this association was related to employee self-efficacy, perceived organizational support, quality of AI services and new tasks. In addition, it was found that the quality of AI concierge robots directly or indirectly had the greatest influence on user resistance and turnover intention. The findings of this study provide theoretical implications for academia and practical implications for industry practitioners.
