Two Color PIV를 이용한 램제트엔진 연소기 특성에 대한 연구

  • 램제트 엔진에 대한 기초 연구로서 양쪽 대칭의 공기 흡입구를 갖는 2차원 형태의 램제트엔진 연소기를 제작하여 그 특성을 분석하였다. 실험은 흡입공기의 연소실내 유입각도와 연소실내의 도움 위치에 따른 연소실 형상을 바꾸어가며 연소기내의 유동특성을 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 고속 유동장의 2차원 평면 속도 분포를 측정할 수 있는 two color PIV 기법을 개발하였다. 이 기법은 다른 색의 두 레이저빔을 사용하여 방향성의 문제를 해결하며, 이미지의 색 분리에 따른 거의 완벽한 cross-correlation이 가능하며 높은 single-to-noise 비를 얻게 됨으로써 dynamic range의 증가가 가능해지며, 조사 영역 안에 존재해야 하는 입자 쌍의 수가 줄어들게 된다.(중략)

  • In order to understand the operation characteristics and major design parameters of a dual combustion ramjet engine, a fundamental analysis model based on gasdynamics and thermodynamic theories was established. The preliminary performance analysis was accomplished and the results clearly describe the intimate relationship between air inlets, gas generator, and supersonic combustor. The methodology presented provides a means for quantitatively determining the geometries of the gas generator and supersonic combustor and assessing the effects on performance of each of the engine components. Also the design results for a basic configuration were provided.

  • An unsteady numerical combustion analysis was performed to investigate the combustion characteristics of A Dual Combustion Ramjet(DCR) engine using a gas generator. According to a variance of the equivalence ratio of the gas generator, the flow pattern in the combustor was analyzed. A typical acoustic frequency in the combustor was observed by detail analysis of pressure fluctuation at each location of the combustor.

  • Development and validation of performance analysis model for dual combustion ramjet engines has been performed. A typical performance model for hypersonic intake flow and supersonic mixing and combustion was demonstrated; Taylor-Maccoll equation for coaxial intakes and a quasi-one dimensional reacting flow analysis with CEA chemical equilibrium for supersonic combustion. The results, thermodynamic data of intake and supersonic combustor were validated with CFD numerical results.

  • Ramjet engine is weak for low frequency combustion instability because of their long air flow passage. A model combustor which has fuel injector and V-gutter shaped flame holder was designed and fabricated in order to simulate a combustion mechanism of ramjet engine, and it could demonstrate combustion instability which might occur in ramjet combustor. The frequency of the instability was very similar to that of acoustic resonance frequency of combustor, and it proved that a typical combustion instability by thermo-acoustic coupling occurred.

  • 최적의 액체 램제트 연소기 설계를 위하여 흡입공기와 분무, 혼합 그리고 이에 따른 연소의 일련의 과정이 일어나는 램제트 연소기의 유동해석을 2차원 및 3차원으로 수행하였다. 격자구성은 연소기에 공기를 공급하고 연료를 분무하는 공기 유입관 영역과 연소실 및 노즐 영역, 그리고 출구 대기 영역으로 나누어 독자적으로 격자를 생성시켰다. 연소실 내의 유동 특성에 있어서 2차원과 3차원의 유동해석 결과는 선회영역 유동특성이 크게 차이가 남을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 실제 액체 램제트 연소기의 설계를 위해서는 3차원 유동해석과 실험이 반드시 필요하다.

  • 액체렘제트 엔진에서는 고온·고속의 공기가 공기흡입구로 유입되기 때문에 고성능 램제트 연소기의 설계를 위하여 실제 비행조건을 모사할 수 있는 고온 고속의 공기 발샐장치가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 수소연소에 의해 Vitiated Air를 발생시키도록 설계된 Vitiated Air Heater(VAH)를 제작하였으며, VAH의 성능평가를 통하여 80∼120m/s 와 400∼800K 범위에서 손쉽게 속도와 온도의 조절이 가능하고 균일한 속도 및 온도분포로 대기공기와 같은 Vitiated Air를 얻을 수 있었다. 그리고 VAH을 연결하여 Dump형 연소기의 특성을 실험하였다. 액체 램제트 엔진에 있어서 공기흡입구가 하나인 Dump형 연소기에 주요변수로서 흡입공기의 온도와 공연비를 변화시키면서 연소기내의 화염형상을 관찰하고, 온도분포를 계측하였으며 Injection 위치에 따른 화염현상을 관찰하였다. 각 경우의 연소효율을 계산하여 실험범위에서의 최적 연소조건을 제시하였다.

  • A two color PIV technique has been developed for visualization of complex and high speed flow in a ramjet combustor. Two color PIV has the advantages that velocity distribytions in high speed flowfields can be measured simply by varying the time interval between two different laser beams and a directional ambiguity problem can be solved by color separation, and then a singnal-to-noise ratio can be increased through nearly perfect cross-correlation. As a basic research of the ramjet engine, a 2-D shaped combustor with two symmetric air intakes has been manufactured and an experimental study has been conducted using a two color PIV technique. The flow characteristics such as recirculation zones and two intake air mixing have been investigated varying inlet angles and dome heights. It is found that the size and air mass ratio of reciculation zones are affected mainly by an inlet angle, but not much by a dome height.

  • This experimental study is the supersonic combustion of dual combustors in dual combustion ramjet engine. Through the preliminary performance analysis of DCR, the configuration of dual combustors was determined and constructed, supersonic experiments were accomplished.
