Light Factor Performance of a Room with Light Guide and Blind Systems by Mockup Experiments (혼합형 채광조절장치가 실내공간의 주광조도분포에 미치는 영향에 관한 Mockup 실험평가)

  • This study aims to evaluate the illuminance performance of sloped light guide with automated venetian blind systems. For the purpose, a mock-up model was constructed as a prototype of Korean office building with $12.0m{\times}7.3m{\times}3.7m$ ($w{\times}d{\times}h$) and south facing side-window mounted between the clerestory window($2.0m^2$) and the view window($5.6m^2$). The light guide of 1.28m deepth and $29^{\circ}$ tilted angle, is covered with 0.6mm galvanized steel sheet and 97% reflective film. To protect the room from low solar angle, a blind systems, 0.15m deepth and $30^{\circ}$ automated slat angle was installed. To assess illuminance performance, the totally 37 measuring points for illuminance were monitored. For the detailed analysis, photometric sensors were installed at work-plane (8 points), wall (7 points), ceiling (3points), and exterior horizontal illuminance (1 point) respectively. The performance was measured under clear sky and is monitored by Agilent data logger, photometric sensor Li-cor and the Radiant Imaging ProMetric 1400. Comparisons of light factor and uniformity are discussed.

  • This proposed simulation-based design study is based on the design of residential high-rise buildings in South-Korea. the purpose of this study is to evaluate the amount of daylighting performance passing through building glazing according to sky conditions, orientation of windows and each space of Apartment buildings. The clear sky includes sunshine and is intense and brighter at the horizon than at the zenith, except in the area around the sun. Daylight received within a building is directly dependent upon the sun's position and the atmospheric conditions. Orientation of the building generally used to refer to solar orientation which is the siting of building with respect to solar access. Although any building will have different orientations for its different sides, the orientation can refer to a particular room, or to the most important facade of the building. north-facing windows receive twice the winter sun than east and west facing windows, allowing light and warmth into the home. They can be easily shaded from the high summer sun to help keep the house cool. Ideally, the glazing area should be between 10-25% of the floor area of the room. This paper was calculated by a Desktop Radiance program. The space dimensions were based on a unit module of real constructed apartment having divided into five sections such as living room, room1, room2, room3 and kitchen.

  • This paper will discuss the process behind creating casual games utilizing Spritekits. Casual games, which recently have been on this rise due to the increasing use of personal adhered media and SNS, are significant in that they are leading the way to various changes in the gaming industry whilst making it popular. With this background in mind, and through research on Casual Games, we have divided the production process of Casual Games into three parts and created the game "Round and Round" which utilizes Spritekits. We have sectioned and organized the production process of Casual Games into four parts as followed: information architecture, design, program development, and debugging. This research will propose an easier methodology to approaching the production of casual games and be a guideline for creating games with the minimal amount of personnel.

  • As ecological design elements, daylighting can be applied to provide adequate illumination on visual tasks to create an attractive visual environment and to save electrical energy. Daylighting control systems reject direct sunlight and penetrate it onto the ceiling or to deep into the room. This study aims to evaluate the luminance environment of sloped light guide with automated venetian blind systems according to sun angle changes. For evaluation, a mock-up model was used and the south facing side-window mounted between the clerestory window and the view window. To assess luminance performance, 3 view points of luminance were monitored. As results, the conventional and lightshelves show ideal luminance ratio between workplane and surroundings(3:1) and workplane and darkness area(2:1) due to total ratio of surroundings and darkness area has lower ratio than workplane. Compared to the lightshelves window, conventional window shows unrelieved effect in between the workplane and brightness area(1:5). It means that there has low deviation according to the required standards. Also, compared to the ratio between the brightness area and darkness area(2~6:1) conventional window with high deviation(10~20:1) provide discomfort glare due to the excessively strong contrast, while lightshelves window shows a required luminance ratio that provide a three-dimensional effect to occupants. Therefore, luminance distribution indicate that application of a lightshelves and blinds not only has a significantly positive effect but also offers higher luminance quality in a daylit room

  • In recent years, most automobile manufacturers have been using slim light source images to imprint their own brand image and identity. A light guide type lamp is widely used for making these kinds of a slim light source image. A light guide lamp means using a light emitting diode light source at one end of a long cylindrical pipe. The light from the light emitting diode source moves through the pipe by total reflection principle. Moving light is sent forward by various optic structures which is applied in the cylindrical pipe. However, the light guide lamp has a problem that the image of the light differs depending on the viewing direction, and in some cases there is dark section. It means light guide has low quality about lighting image. In this paper, trying to improve the fundamental problems of the light guide mentioned above by using various triz methods. Through functional modeling, estimating the factors affecting the light in the light guide lamp and make various ideas to improve the lighting image using the chain effect cause analysis, function oriented search scientific database techniques. Using these kinds of various TRIZ methods, finally find solutions that can improve the brightness and lighting uniformity of the light guide lamp. The ideas obtained in this paper were applied to actual vehicle development, and several patents achievements were obtained. In conclusion, it is proved that TRIZ method is useful for making ideas in actual automobile industrial field and is also a useful method for acquiring patent.

Study on the Removal of Carbon Dioxide in the Subway Cabin Using Zeolite Type Carbon Dioxide Adsorbent (제올라이트계 이산화탄소 흡착제를 사용한 지하철 객실 내부의 이산화탄소 제거에 관한 연구)

  • High concentration of carbon dioxide at subway cabin is one of the serious environmental concerns because carbon dioxide causes drowsiness, headache, and nervelessness of passengers. Ministry of Environment set a guideline for indoor carbon dioxide levels in train or subway in 2007. In this study, a carbon dioxide removal system for subway cabin was developed and tested using a test subway cabin. Various types of modified zeolites were used as the adsorbent of carbon dioxide. The tested zeolites were applied to the subway cabin, and showed high potential to lower the indoor $CO_2$ level.

Meta-analysis of the Effect of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Training on Gait Ability in Patients with Storke

  • The purpose of this meta-analysis was to determine the efficacy of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation training on Gait. We included all randomized controlled trials assessing the efficacy of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation training on gait ability control in patients after stroke. This study was conducted according to the PRISMA guideline. CINAHL, PubMed and RISS were searched for studies published up to December 2020, and all randomized controlled trails assessing PNF intervention were included. This analysis included only randomized controlled trials. A total of 12 studies were selected from 1475 records obtained from the databases. The meta-analysis was performed using the R software. The overall intervention effect was moderate (standardized mean difference (SMD): 0.67, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.50-0.84). Additionally, Gait rite (SMD: 0.69), 10m walking test (SMD: 0.59) had medium effect sizes. These findings indicate that PNF is an effective intervention for improving gait ability in patients stroke.

Study of injection molded pattern transferability of double-sided micro-patterned automotive thick light guides (양면 마이크로 패턴 차량용 후육 라이트 가이드의 사출성형 패턴 전사성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we investigated the injection molding technology of thick-walled light guides, which are parts that control the light source of automotive lamps. Through injection molding analysis, the gate position that can minimize product shrinkage and deformation was selected, and a mold reflecting the analysis results was manufactured to evaluate the effect of injection speed and holding pressure on transferability during micro-pattern molding through experiments. When designing an injection mold for products with varying thicknesses, it was found that installing the gate on the side of the thicker part was advantageous for reducing volume shrinkage and deformation. It was found that the effect of shrinkage due to thickness may be greater than the position of the gate on pattern transferability. The pattern transfer error decreased as the injection speed and holding pressure increased, and it was found that increasing the injection speed was relatively effective.
