Along with the increased use of e-journal since mid of 1990's, there has been a sharp increase of license contracting in the library. However the librarians who have no enough knowledge nor technology to handle the licensing are experiencing difficulties in the process. The study intended to help them understand the practical problems of license contracting between library and vendors, and proposed guidelines for developing model license for e-journal based on the licensing principles of IFLA and ALA.

1990년대 중반부터 전자 자료의 이용 증가와 더불어 라이선스 계약이 증가하였으나 국내의 경우에는 저작권 및 계약에 관한 기초적인 지식과 협상 기술이 부족한 도서관 사서들이 라이선스 계약시에 지침으로 삼을 수 있는 자료가 아직 전무한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 라이선스의 기반이 되는 계약과 저작권과의 관계를 정립하고, 문헌조사와 설문지조사, 국내외의 사례 분석 조사 결과를 바탕으로 도서관 사서의 라이선스 계약에 지침이 될 수 있는 라이선스 모델을 개발하고자 한다.

The purpose of the study is to develop a license model which could be used as guidelines during the process of contracting for the use of electronic journals in the academic libraries. The study was done through the following 4 steps. First, through the analysis of previous related literature, the study examined the licensing principles, the structure of the license, the relationship between copyright and contracts, and the development of license models in the library. Secondly, through the analysis of the basic structure of 5 representative license models abroad and 2 domestic licenses, the study established the basic structure of license model. Thirdly, a questionnaire was conducted on library licensee and the vendor licensor in order to find out the present states and problems of library contracting and their opinion on the core clauses of the contract. Lastly, having based on the results of the investigations mentioned above, the study finally developed the license model.

Companies that use open source SW must comply with the "Open Source SW License" in order to use it freely. However, despite the potential legal responsibilities and risks associated with compliance, they do not know or neglect the risks. For this reason, cases of disputes, including license violations, are soaring. Recently, Open source SW license compliance platform services have been developed and actively utilized to address these issues. This study designed a business model for open source SW license compliance platform and conducted an economic feasibility analysis. The focus of the study is the establishment of a business model and the estimation of potential customers and actual purchase rates. For this purpose, we designed seven business model scenarios for promotion and sales period, and performed an economic evaluation using an expanded model of the Bass model, the Kalish model and the customer's maximum willingness to pay.

Since core scholarly journals have been digitalized, license contracts for e-resources have been dramatically increased. Librarians have had difficulties in understanding various and complex license models that are proposed by publishers in a period of time. The standardization of license models for journals have been more in demand and standard model license for journals have been developed by librarians, publishers, consortia and the third party. In this study, we explain the development of the standard license model of KESLI consortium.(hereafter, KESLI model) The availability of KESLI model has been analyzed by comparing with established standard license models. As a result, KESLI model is proved to be adopted and used in a practical contract process of e-journals through consortium.

The purpose of the study is to suggest preferable future strategies for interlibrary use of e-journal. For this purpose, the study reviewed the meaning of interlibrary use for e-journal in the digital environment and the disputes about it, and analyzed several license clauses for interlibrary use.

Due to the dramatic improvement of Internet technologies and digital content authoring, many independent media creators produce various digital items and share them with others. In this situation, the independent media platforms must support the well-defined usage rights(licenses) specification, usage monitoring, and license trading trace for enabling complex types for selling, buying, using and reproducing digital items created by independent media creators. In this paper, we design an extended policy model based on the ODRL policy class model and implement a user interface prototype to specify multi types of usage rights like use, own, share, and cede. Our proposed model can be referenced to create license management modules of the independent media platforms.

The devices for the digital home in ubiquitous environment aim at providing multimedia services which are not limited to the time and space. However, it does not ensure the fair use of digital contents and causes damage to the contents providers because of indiscriminate distribution of digital contents and the use of illegal contents. DRM system for solving this problems cannot protect the license stored on digital home devices and manage license by redistribution of contents. In this paper, digital forensic model that enables the misuse detection and previous interception of large-scale illegal distribution for contents and license, and also enables the creation and management of digital evidence for legal countermeasure.

오픈소스 소프트웨어는 소스코드를 공개해 누구나 제약 없이 소스코드를 보고 사용할 수 있는 오픈소스 라이선스를 만족하는 소프트웨어다. 오픈소스 소프트웨어의 장점은 라이선스 비용절감, 특정 소프트웨어 및 하드웨어의 종속성 탈피, 유연한 연동성, 수 많은 개발자의 참여로 인한 빠른 발전 속도와 신뢰성에 있다. 단점으로는 체계적이지 못하고, 유지보수가 어렵다는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 취약점 침해여부 모델을 이용하게 된다면 오픈소스의 단점을 보완할 수 있다.

Open source software has a feature that offers its service by the subscription method without getting a license fee. Therefore, this business style needs a different form of estimate criteria from other proprietary software, which is paid by license fees and maintenance service fees. However, consumers, including the public sector, don't understand this feature. This problem has kept the open source software business from attaining prosperity. I would like to provide a model for the estimate criteria that can apply to the open source software business by investigating and developing various advanced research and market examples.
