An investigation on analysis of heavy vehicle cooling fan system by radiator consideration and blade number (대형차량용 냉각팬 날개수 및 주변장치에 의한 압력강하에 따른 성능해석 연구)

  • 본 논문에서 연구하고자 하는 팬은 대형 차량용 라디에이터 냉각팬으로써 수치해석을 통한 일반적인 팬의 성능 평가시 팬과 쉬라우드의 형상만을 이용하여 시뮬레이션 하지만 라디에이터를 거쳐 공기가 유입되는 실제 현상에 좀 더 가깝게 모사하고자 라디에이터의 압력 부하를 고려한 시뮬레이션을 수행하였고 기존 해석 결과와 비교하였다. 연구된 냉각팬은 쉬라우드의 전방에 라디에이터가 설치되며 라디에이터를 통하여 공기가 유입되기 때문에 라디에이터의 압력 부하에 따라 팬 성능에 영향을 준다. 라디에이터의 압력 부하 성능을 모사하기 위하여 쉬라우드 입구에 박스 형태로 라디에이터의 외부 크기를 모델링 한 후 수치해석 시 porous media model을 사용하여 풍속에 따른 압력 강하 곡선을 적용하였다. 수치해석에서 porous media model을 적용할 경우 실제적인 형상 모델링 없이도 실험으로부터 도출한 성능곡선을 조건으로 입력하여 실제 현상에 가까운 시뮬레이션을 할 수 있다. 그리고 팬 날개수 증가에 따른 해석을 수행하여, 날개수 변경에 따른 성능개선의 여지를 확인 하였다.

  • MEMS-based louver and shutter type conventional variable emissivity radiators change their emissivity properties in accordance with a temperature condition to achieve efficient thermal control performance. However, there are some drawbacks such as a structural safety of the mechanical moving parts under sever launch environment and constant power consumption to maintain the intended emissivity. In this study, to overcome above drawbacks, we proposed a MEMS-based variable emissivity radiator, which can change the emissivity property according to the polarity change of electrodes by using electric charge of the bead. The effectiveness of the optimized radiator design has been demonstrated through the comparison of efficiency with the fixed emissivity radiator.

  • 히트파이프 히트싱크의 라디에이터를 통과하는 공기 유동에 대한 열전달 및 유동 압력 강하를 구하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 이 라디에이터는 평판 휜-관 구조이며, 평판휜에 4개의 히트파이프가 유동 방향으로 정격 배열 되어있다. 입구 공기 속도 2.5~4m/s에 대해 열전달 성능실험과 수치해석을 수행하였다. 각 히트파이프의 단위 길이당 열속이 583.3W/m, 입구 공기 속도가 3m/s일때 총합 대류 열전달계수값은 약 32W/$m^2$K, 압력 강하는 8mmAq이었다. 전체속도범위에서 실험결과와 수치 해석 결과 사이에는 약 5%의 미만의 일치를 보였다.

Development of Coating Robot Automation System Based on OLP for Radiators in PPS (페키지형 발전시스템용 라디에이터의 OLP 기반 코팅로봇 자동화시스템 개발)

  • A robot automation system for coating uniformly a big radiator used in PPS(Packaged Power Station), which consists of 6-axis robot with spray gun, travelling vehicle, supply device of coating paint and thinner with pressured air, HMI controller and robot path OLP(Off-Line Programming), was developed. Experimental results on an optimum operation condition show that a coating thickness is $43{\mu}m$, which is satisfied to a design reference of $25-100{\mu}m$. A productivity of the developed coating robot automation system based on OLP is about 12.6 times of that of manual operation.

  • For keeping the indoor air quality, we develop the pulsating heat pipe(PHP) type heat recovery ventilator using an used radiator for vehicles. We compare the PHP type with existing model. There are some merits that are able to change the unit number according to heat load and show us the similar performance to existing models.

  • The study on the recovery of Nylon from a radiator of End-of-Life Vehicle was conducted by using triboelectrostatic separation technique. For the effective separation of the sample(Nylon, PP glass), charge polarity and amount of each sample with various charging materials have been investigated by faraday cage. And then, charging material was selected as carrying out basic separation experiments with materials that can be possible to polarize samples. Finally, the continuos type triboelectrostatic separator was developed with selected charging material and the recovery possibility of the sample was confirmed as carrying out various separation experiments.

Establishment of the Monoenergetic Fluorescent X-ray Radiation Fields (교정용 단일에너지 형광 X-선장의 제작)

  • Using a combination of an X-ray generator Installed in radiation calibration laboratory of Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) and a series of 8 radiators and filters described in ISO-4037, monoenergetic fluorescent X-rays from 8.6 keV to 75 keV were produced. This fluorescent X-rays generated by primary X-rays from radiator were discriminated $K_{\beta}$ lines with the aid of filter material and the only $K_{\alpha}$ X-rays were analyzed with the high purity Ge detector and portable MCA. The air kerma rates were measured with the 35 co ionization chamber and compared with the calculational results, and the beam uniformity and the scattered effects of radiation fields were also measured. The beam purities were more than 90 % for the energy range of 8.6 keV to 75 keV and the air kerma rates were from 1.91 mGy/h (radiator : Au, filter : W) to 54.2 mGy (radiator : Mo, filter : Zr) at 43 cm from center of the radiator. The effective area of beam at the measurement point of air kerma rates was 12 cm ${\times}$ 12 cm and the influence of scattered radiation was less than 3 %. The fluorescent X-rays established in this study could be used for the determination of energy response of the radiation measurement devices and the personal dosemeters in low photon energy regions.

Numerical Analysis for Improving Passing Flow Rate Quantity abound a Radiator (라디에이터 통과풍량 확보를 위한 수치적 검토)

  • This paper describes the analysis of flow field using a projection finite element method. The projection scheme with a pressure correction is presented for the analysis of an incompressible Navier-Stokes flow. The projection scheme is analyzed numerically and applied to the well-known bench marking problems such as lid driven cavity. Finally, the projection scheme is applied to a flow through the automobiles front. In the automobiles cooling system, the flow through its front is very important to a cooling performance. The results show that the flow quantity increases by locating the position of bumper to the further front position of a car. And, the improvement on the suction part below a bumper achieves the more passing flow quantity. The attachment of an air dam increases passing flow quantity causing the pressure rise to the front part and the pressure drop beneath a car.

  • In this work, the structural integrity was investigated of the structural design results of internal components for the aircraft engine. The radiator and intercooler were combined with the internal components of the engine. Therefore, the safety of the radiator and intercooler was investigated during flight conditions. The structural integrity was evaluated through structural analysis, using the finite element analysis method. The acceleration load for structural design and analysis was considered. The structural safety evaluation found the structural design results to be valid.
