  • Recently, due to the influence of the 4th industrial revolution and the development of communication media, various digital video equipment are being used in industrial fields. Image data is easily damaged by noise in the process of acquiring and transmitting and receiving from the camera and sensor, and since the damaged image has a great effect on the processing of the system, noise removal is essential. In this paper, a weight filter algorithm using a weight graph is proposed to restoration images damaged by high-density impulse noise. The proposed algorithm obtains a weight graph using pixel values inside the filtering mask of the image, and restores the image by applying the final weight to the filtering mask. Simulation was conducted to analyze the noise removal performance of the proposed algorithm, and the magnified image and PSNR were used to compare with the existing method. The resulting image of the proposed algorithm showed excellent performance by removing high-density impulse noise.

  • This paper propose a digital watermarking algorithm for a digital hologram which is the most valuable image content. It is highly necessary to protect the ownership of a digital hologram. This paper introduces a watermarking scheme, a method to protect the ownership of digital holograms using the Fresnel transform domain data as the ones to be watermarked. Experiment results indicated that the proposed scheme was very imperceptible in the digital hologram and in the reconstructed holographic image. Also, they showed quite strong resistance to most of the attacks. we expect that the conclusions of this paper can be the basis for further research on the digital watermarking for digital holograms.

  • According to the increase of demand for diverse multimedia services, techniques to use images as the tool of information transmission have been rapidly developed. However, impulse noise affecting the reception of image and signal error occurs in the process of digitalization and transmission of images. In order to remove this impulse noise, a nonlinear filter is generally applied and a standard median (SM) filter is representative. However, SM filter degrades the qualify of overall image by error of the edge component. Therefore, in this paper, to restore the corrupted image by impulse noise, a nonlinear spatial filter based on Min-max operation was proposed and was compared with conventional methods through simulations.

  • Digital radiography (DR) images are corrupted by the additive noise, and also distorted by system impulse response. These unwanted phenomena are obstacles to obtain the desired image. To recover the original image, we applied multiscale Wiener filters in wavelet domain for DR images. The multiscale Wiener filter is first proposed by Chen for the restoration of fractal signals which are distorted by the system impulse response and additive noise. In this paper, we extended the multiscale Wiener filter to the two dimensional data. To compare the performance of ours with others, some simulations are given for a couple of wavelet filters with different wavelet levels, system impulse reponses and various noise power. When the addive noise powers are between 20-32 dB, the signal to noise ratio(SNR) of the proposed system is 0.5-2.0 dB better than that of the traditional Wiener filter method.

  • The application fields of the image processing get gradually diversified as the society develops to the highly leveled digital information era and is highlighted as an important field. Especially, many studies on image restoration, a key technology in the image processing have been carried out. This paper proposed a filter which applies the directivity and spatial weighting based on the degraded pixels in order to restore the image degraded in the high density salt and pepper noise environment. In addition, this paper compared this filter with the current methods for objective judgment using PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio) as a criterion of judgment.

  • Image processing is being spotlighted as an important sector with increasingly diverse applications as the society advances into a sophisticated digital information age. Especially, the image restoration as the core technology of image processing, many studies are being progressed. In this paper, in order to restore the damaged image in the Salt and Pepper noisy environment, a modified adaptive switching median filter where the size of local mask can be varied according to the noise density was proposed. And using the PSNR as the standard for objective decision making of the improvement effect, it was compared with the existing methods.

  • Image processing is being hailed as an important field with various applications as the digital information era advances. In particular, studies on methods to remove noise from images are being actively undertaken. This paper suggests an image restoration filter that processes through a weighted filter in accordance with the direction of partial masks to preserve edge while replacing the noise in the images with neighboring pixels. The PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio) was used as a tool to objectively judge the improvement effects compared to existing methods.

  • With the development of IoT and AI technologies and media, various digital devices are being used, and unmanned and automation is progressing rapidly. In particular, high-level image processing technology is required in fields such as smart factories, autonomous driving technology, and intelligent CCTV. However, noise present in the image affects processes such as edge detection and object recognition, and causes deterioration of system accuracy and reliability. In this paper, we propose a filtering algorithm using fuzzy weights to reconstruct images damaged by complex noise. The proposed algorithm obtains a reference value using noise judgment and calculates the final output by applying a fuzzy weight. Simulation was conducted to verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, and the result image was compared with the existing filter algorithm and evaluated.
