  • Currently, a cartoon is generally used for a term implying a short cut strip based on satire and humor in Korea. Today, the way of expressing a cartoon includes the active utilization of expressive ways through digital medium as well as traditional methods, and the introduction of oriental feelings or an engraving which is a technique used in fine art. Also, there is a three-dimensional cartoon utilizing objets such as cup and handbag. This study was conducted on assumption that the area of a cartoon may be extendable with a three-dimensional technique added with a tactual sense. Also, this thesis is aimed to identify the possibilities of the industrialization of cartoon contents and of becoming an edutainment (education + entertainment) through a new cartoon technique, and to prepare the basis for scientific research necessary for extending the domain of a cartoon.

  • As the consumption of fishery products continues to increase, aquaculture industry has emerged instead of fishing industry facing limitations of fish stock resources. Recently, smart fish farming industry has rapidly developed through convergence with 4th Industrial Revolution technology. Accordingly, it is important to derive a future model of smart fish farming platforms in order to secure the superiority of the aquaculture industry and the technology standard hegemony. In this study, the future direction of smart fish farm platform was derived through the analysis of environment related to politics, economy, society, and technology related to smart fish farming by applying PEST methodology of macro-environment analysis. It is expected that it will help the public and industrial circles in planning and implementing related projects by including the entire process of value chain of aquaculture industry of breeding, production, management and distribution, and by presenting advanced models based on artificial intelligence and digital twin.

  • Digital storytelling provides students with opportunities to plan and compose a story, and create a storytelling material using various digital technologies. Through digital storytelling activities, students can enhance competencies such as creativity, communication, critical thinking and collaboration, which are required for the digital generation in the future. The purpose of this research was to develop a digital storytelling model that guides students' activities related to the planning of a story and the creation of a digital material. The model classified 4 stages of activities(i.e. 'Preparing Activity', 'Planning and Composing a Story', 'Producing Storytelling Material' and 'Making a Presentation and Evaluating Storytelling Material'), and provided instructional guidances for each stage. Also various forms were presented for story planning, story table, evaluation among students and individual reflection journal.

  • In this article, I will provide a philosophical discourse on digital sexual violence that is a technological version of male violence. First, critical analysis of the mechanism of the spatiality and the temporality of the hidden and illicit camera is developed to focus on the immeasurable damage of this violence. I elaborate a notional division between digital sexual violence and cyber sexual violence. Secondly, the ease of taking images of women's bodies and the rapid transmission of these images through the advancement of digital communication technology and hyperconnectivity, lead to use these images as a new digital monet for men. They consolidate their male solidarity by reaffirming female inferiority and humiliating women. Thirdly, the invention of the structure of the new affect to resist to digital sexual violence is crucial. For that, it would be necessary to pass from the sexual shame to the sexual displeasure and to the socio-political indignation. These would create another opportunity to resist to digital sexual violence.

  • 한국후지제록스가 국내에 디지털 인쇄를 처음으로 소개하기 시작한 1990년대만 해도 '디지털 인쇄'라는 개념 자체가 시장에 성립돼 있지 않았다. 하지만 이제는 그 누구도 디지털 인쇄의 필요성에 대해 의문을 갖지 않는다. 지난 수년간 웹, 모바일, SNS 등 미디어의 급속한 변화와 함께 소비자들의 행동 양식과 커뮤니케이션 수단이 바뀌었고, 그에 따라 인쇄 시장에 대한 요구 또한 달라졌다. 이러한 변화의 급물살과 함께 2014년에도 큰 성장이 예상되는 디지털 인쇄 시장에는 어떠한 변화들이 있을까?

Study on the form of expression for Web Comics : Focused on Scroll Comics (웹 만화의 표현 양식에 관한 연구 : 스크롤 만화를 중심으로)

  • The growth of Web comics is very noticeable in Korean comic market as the 21st century is entered. In amongst these1 trends, the scroll comics had established it self as one of the main stream form for expression, outside the form of the traditional published comics, so it is providing a new visual experience for the readers. The scroll method uses the large vertical space that is uncomparable to the column compartment of the printed comics, and its uses of animation-like techniques, innovative partitioning, flob styles and narration partition positioning, the limitless canvas and the scroll bar of the web page, is leading the digital comic age. However, it is still very uncertain whether the 'scroll comics' will still be valid in the age of Web2.0. It is concerning that even though there are limitless potential in the realms of digital and web, the web comics seem to be bound to one particular medium, 'scroll'. In this report, the form of expression in the scroll centered web comics will be analyzed, and based on this, the future evolution of digital comics shall be investigated.

A Study on CQI Form for Quality Management and Improvement of Class (수업의 질 관리 및 개선을 위한 CQI양식 연구)

  • This study examined the curriculum CQI forms implemented at A university for quality management and improvement of instruction. Under the reorganization of competency-based curriculum, University A has improved the CQI form so that the planning, process and outcomes of class can be managed systematically. This study proposes a CQI form through literature research and has undergone a revision process through external expert verification. The major findings are as follows. First, when developing the CQI form, the questions were composed to evaluate and reflux the entire course of the class, including the planning, operation, results, and feedback of the class. Second, it was divided into three stages such as last semester, current semester, and next semester to prepare a comprehensive analysis and improvement plan, so that the effect of continuous class improvement and reflux can be obtained. Third, integrating the lesson plans and lecture evaluation results in the preparation of CQI increased the convenience of instructors. Fourth, the objective results (achievement results for each evaluation tool, lecture evaluation results) were provided to the instructor so that they could sufficiently reflect on them. This study is significant in that it provides implications for future CQI development.

  • Form design for information registration should consider and classify various possible cases and each user case and reflect it in the design. In this paper, I analyzed the visual and emotional factors of information design that elicit positive emotions from the user experience point of view, focusing on the birth certificate of among other public documents issued by the government. In order to derive problems and supplements from the user's overall writing experience point of view, Keller's Motivational Behavior Construction Model was used. The process of writing the birth registration form creates recognition, reasoning, relationship, establishment, achievement, expectation. In order to more actively draw an emotional point of view, it is essential to set of information and to materialize the information experience. It is hoped that this will be a good guideline in the process of presenting a new perspective on information design and improving the experience.

  • 구술 시대에서 필사 시대와 인쇄 시대를 넘어서서 디지털 시대에 이르기까지, 인간이 존재한 이래 이야기는 끊임없이 계속돼 왔다. 이야기란 인간의 정신적, 육체적 과정에 깊이 뿌리박고 있기 때문에 이야기 없이 우리는 재미있게 살 수 없다. 이야기를 생산, 소비하고자 하는 인간의 욕망은 끊임없이 계속되고 있지만, 그 이야기를 담아내는 틀과 유형은 시대와 문화에 따라서 달라지기 마련이다. 틀과 유형이 달라지면서 발생하는 또 다른 문제가 바로 새로운 수용과 해석의 문제이다. 우리 시대의 게임은 분명 새로운 서사 양식이므로 새로운 틀 안에서 이해돼야 한다. 이번 호에는 지난 호에 이어 게임의 서사와 상호작용성에 대해 집중적으로 살펴보고자 한다.

  • This study aimed to analyze the housing lifestyles of one person households (OPH) with the perspective of digital placemaking in order to suggest the planning criteria for OPH house. The structured questionnaire survey was accomplished by 145 OPH. The main findings were as follows. (1) OPH's housing lifestyles were classified into four types composed of ten factors. (2) The user preference for the space organization was varied by four types of housing lifestyles. (3) Most OPH required the informational appliances and their needs for other digital appliances were significantly differed by four types of housing lifestyles.
