A Study on the Vernacular Trends of Typography (타이포그래피의 풍토적 경향에 관한 연구)

  • Technically, the connotation of Typography is more than embodiments which are associated with records, keeping and expressions in languages. Therefore, it reflects a variety of social aspects based on cultures. The tendencies of modem Typography that have been confusing originate from the reaction caused by, what's called, cynical Rationalism - as a kind of characteristic. Nowadays, modem Typographic is required that it experience a new turning point with challenge and innovation. In association with the fact, it tends to be more local, compromised, dialectal, multi-cultural and anti-aesthetic. Moreover, there are multilateral tendencies concerned with generations and wealth & poverty. Consequently, the situation of modem Typographic which was regarded as an immovable role is now needed to change. The vernacular trends of Typographic changing with newer aspects is not always optimistic - it may be failure. However, at least, the experiments of it have expanded the range of modem Typographic. Therefore, the ultimate goal will be to obtain, what's called, potential data some of which are unknown to us.

  • The purpose of the present study is to explore the possibility of computer graphics as a new expression tool for high-grade elementary students' poster making by suggesting specific teaching-learning methods focused on expression using computer graphics to make posters in Unit 9 'Designing Notices' for 6th-grade elementary students. Through this study, we confirmed various possibilities of computer graphics as a new medium for art education and particularly its possibility for children's creative expression activities in expressing images hard to express with paper and brush and applying desired colors to the picture. The use of computer graphics as a new paradigm of art education in the 21st century is expected to contribute to the improvement of diversified visual literacy. Thus, art class in school education needs to take an active attitude in intrdoducing various multimedia.

  • The purpose of this study is to conduct research from qualitative aspects regarding the development of substantive design research for furniture brand and detailed development direction as single household has increased rapidly. In case of research method, the usability evaluation questionnaire was produced based on Honey Comb Model of Peter Morville. As a result, the single-person household including other household show preference for furniture for the one-man households and tend to purchase and use them. Nonetheless, it was found that places for sharing opinion and reselling the furniture are greatly lacking. Therefore, it is required to vitalize community market for the one-man household. And it is expected that this result of research provides useful implication concerning the single household as well as academic significance to offer primary information of furniture brand development-related research.

  • In this paper research covers a study on the need for smart TV according to smart TV 'smart' of issues, consider the changing elements of paradigm, according to the evolution of TV, from the point of view of the user experience analyze the Applications of Smart TV UX. Through analysis of user behavior from the current viewpoint of the TV and Future TV, reflected in the design of Smart TV UX. Ultimately for efficiently operating the contents, screen proposed a prototype for personalized intelligent user based on UX design. Ultimately, to satisfy the playfulness for the course of using the TV as the primary goal and content through the TV content easily to the desired goal to be reached quickly and easily at the point of how to approach the user's destination, shorten the access path is proposed in this study.

  • This study suggested model that the practical core process of regional city image which are city identity and strategies of the conservation, promotion and development in city development. In this paper compared and suggested city images as the urban culture strategies, its limitation and evolution in Daejeon metropolitan city as regional developmental paradigm. And this paper present the core idea of city brand and guide line for the success strategies of City marketing in Daejeon. We examined the analysis of positioning on differentiation and symbolism as City brand in Daejeon. This paper suggest we understand that city design and city marketing as universal and sustainability design.

Satisfaction Evaluation for the Pedestrian Improvement of Street Spaces - Focused on the Commercial and Residential Areas in the First District of Administrative-Centered City - (가로공간 보행증진을 위한 보행만족도 평가 - 행정중심복합도시 1지구 상업·주거지역을 대상으로 -)

  • A new urban paradigm that moves from a vehicle-centric to pedestrian-centric culture should be considered to improve the quality of the pedestrian environments for women, children, senior citizens, and disabled persons as well as to promote community unification by providing general movement rights to everyone. This study was implemented to provide decent alternatives to improve street spaces. The street spaces around the Commercial and Residential Area No.1 located in the Administrative-Centered City, Sejong Special Autonomic City, were selected to analyze and define the status of the walkways and the street spaces. Satellite imagery and numerical maps were used to collect geographic data. Practical and actual surveys for the selected sites were performed to analyze the street status and the pedestrian status. Based on the all collected data, analysis results, and literature reviews, the questionnaire was made, and 315 inquiries qualified for analysis. The physical status of all four study sites was the highest level, Grade A, and green open spaces were relatively sufficient. As a result, the factors obtained from the factor analysis have an impact on the satisfaction of the pedestrian streets in the commercial area. The factors are as followed Design > Convenience > Roadside trees and rest areas > Safety > Safety protective facilities > Transportation and information facilities > Continuity > Basic state of road surfaces > Comfortability, and in the residential area: Transportation and information facilities > Basic state of road surfaces > Comfort > Convenience > Continuity > Design > Illumination and crime prevention facilities > Safety > Roadside trees and rest areas.

  • Recently, the paradigm of SOC investment has shifted from new construction to maintenance. This shift became more important for the highway system because it is as one of the most important SOC. In Korea, highway maintenance costs are about 20% of the total annual highway construction budget, which is about two-thirds of developed countries. In addition, establishing standardized guidelines for the highway maintenance operation is not in place. Therefore, in order for domestic road construction and maintenance technology to secure competitiveness in the global construction market, it is urgent to improve the management capacity for maintenance as well as the technology and management capacity. This study examines highway maintenance practices in OECD countries such as North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan to identify core elements of highway maintenance practice. It is imperative to establish a comprehensive management system based upon asset management principle. Even if the budget for the highway construction is reduced, investment in maintenance needs to be maintained.

  • In this paper, the social paradigm is rapidly changing with the expansion of human consciousness, which has emerged as the development of 20th century science and the influence of cutting-edge media as the search for new forms of flower art sculptures. Is becoming. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to analyze the interaction relationship of the expression elements of environmentally friendly pressed sculptures in the space as interior materials in the space where customer service is provided. (Research method) After deriving the formative expression characteristics of environmentally friendly pressed flower sculptures, and deriving interactive analysis elements between the servicescape space and humans of the pressed flower sculptures through references, service the flower sculptures for 8 installation cases The expression patterns of the interrelationships in the space of the landscape of the landscape were analyzed. (Results) The characteristics of dynamic formation and continuity were emphasized in the environment-friendly pressed sculpture space, and the interaction that the sympathetic reaction to the natural motif element felt as a new experience in space appeared. In the future, commercial spaces can be actively experienced through natural elements, and users can experience active interactions to create differentiated spaces as spaces where humans and humans coexist.

  • The world is preparing another unseen war, that is, the cultural war of digital economy which will dominate the new millenium. As the “contents”, which are composed of various ingredients of media, gain vitality, the developed nations are in preparation of the war with the “cultural industry” weapons. The digital economic experts say that the left out nations will become economic colony in the new millenium age. The most important characteristics of cultural industry is the unity of creativity and culture which is all the more improved on the basis of the culture created upon knowledge. This leads to competition between nations or regions, and to survive one has to develop the industrial structure through cognition of its own cultural value. Furthermore, it is not a short-term development and investment of cultural products but a study on the method to graft the cultural value to the industry itself. The multi-media period does not accept an independent medium, and the contents products are becoming the leading industry since il is proved that they last semi-permanently in the digital world. The victory lies in the quality and quantity of the contents as the high ability and variety of the technology of media advance in accordance to the market principles. Since the culture, science and economy are becoming one complex structure, all nations of the world are trying the evolve a unique design of their on culture on the basis of the global universality. In consequence, we should excavate a uniqueness from our cultural heritage and develop into a korean design which will be recognized in the world market. The value of our cultural property should not only be used as academic and research purposes but should be re-evaluated with modem view, recognized as the core element that decides the quality of life and developed into exclusive designs. The korean designs represent the mould concept of our people which evolves from the mould or shape alphabet of Korea To meet the requirements of the changing world and in preparation of the cultural competitive age, it is never too early to make a data on the korean designs through their analysis and evaluation.

  • 본 논문에서는 하천정비에 있어 구상, 계획, 설계, 사업, 운용 유지관리의 각 단계에 따른 대응에서 의사 합의 형성의 목적과 논의의 대상을 정하고, 객관적이며 합리적인 합의 형성 방법을 선택하는 모델로서 "안전", "이용", "환경" 이라고 하는 3요소 모델을 제안하고자 한다. 종래의 제도로써 계획의 절차, 환경평가, 행정소송, 의회제도에 새로운 대응으로써 공공사업의 구상 단계에 있어서 주민 참가 절차 등을 고려하고, 다양한 이해관계자의 의향을 조정하고, 원할한 합의 형성을 추진하면서, 대상 사업 등을 사회적으로 바람직하게 끌어가기 위한 합의 형성에 관한 종합적인 producer의 필요성을 논한다. 끝으로 이 모델에 의거한 4대강 정비사업에 대한 예비 전문가 그룹의 의사결정의 관점을 합의 형성 이론과 테크닉으로써 분석결과, 4대강 정비사업에 대하여는 3요소간의 우선순위가 "안전", "환경", "이용" 의 순으로 나타나고 있어, "이용" 에 우선순위를 둔 경부대운하 사업에 대한 시민들의 우려를 뒷받침하고 있다. 또, 전통적인 유역하천에 대하여는 "환경" 이 큰 비중을 차지하고 있어 시민의 환경에 대한 높은 관심을 표현하고 있다. 끝으로 이러한 새로운 패러다임을 파악하기 위한 3요소 모델의 의사합의 형성내용을 하천정비사업이나 관리에 적용하여 실현시키기 위하여 하천정비사업에도 "유니버설디자인" 수법의 도입을 제언한다.
