  • If the Industrial Revolution had been the first industrial revolution. our 21st century will witness a second industrial Revolution. Namely. we will attest to a revolution whereby we will be freed from brain work by automation systems. computers and artificial intelligence. The technological revolution of the Information society has also resulted in various changes in the area of design. Designers almost depend on the newest computers of advanced functions to drastically reduce the production time. maximize the effects. save the cost and differentiate the design products for a stronger competitiveness. Accordingly. the media of design expression are changing. In short. the design works which had been done on the plane are now being expressed on the three-dimensional cyber space. Thus, this study alms to review the effects. positive and negative. of such a trend on the design.

  • Currently barbola has been considered in Korea. The artistry of it has been studied. Interior design barbola has developed from an art activity to a real life product. Interior design is meant to total design activity to satisfy all condition both function and emotion suited for the goal of interior space human dwells. We study the product technique of optic media barbola sculpture with affection and refinement to use traditional superior onion on optic media and permeability in order to apply the artistry of barbola to interior design. We make real sculpture using it. The mineral electric radiation sheet in this research includes 0.2mm thickness with low power, high brightness, and non-heat. The result of this study contains a new type and narrative beyond the limitation of the traditional barbola. We make power saving lighting sculpture through it.

WWW 홈페이지 디자인에 있어서 CI 개념의 도입에 관한 연구

  • 인터넷에 대한 대중들의 관심과 참여가 폭발적으로 늘어나면서 웹 싸이트는 단순한 통신과 정보전달의 차원을 넘어서 문화적이고 사회적인 영향력을 행사하는 새로운 매체로 자리를 잡아가고 있다. 웹 싸이트의 방문자들은 단순히 그 곳에 들어있는 정보만을 보는 것이 아니라 그 홈페이지가 속한 기업 혹은 집단의 이미지- 기업의 문화가 사상, 성향, 역량을 보게되기 때문이다. 웹 싸이트는 또 하나의 홍보매체로서 자리를 잡아가고 있으며, 각 기업들은 앞을 다투어 이를 이용한 정보 및 이미지의 전달에 적극 참여하고 있다. 그룹 계열사들의 홈페이지는 각 사의 특징을 나타낼 수 있도록 독립적이고 자유로우면서도 단일 회사의 그것과는 달리 그룹 전체적으로 일관성을 유지하여야 한다. 즉, 기업이미지 구축 시 적용되는 CI의 개념의 홈페이지 제작 시에도 적용되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 그룹 내의 그룹내의 계열사들이 자율적으로 홈페이지를 구축할 때 하나의 표준이 될 수 있는 디자인 지침을 제시해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 홈페이지를 이루는 구성요소들과 그 요소들을 효과적으로 적용하기 위한 고려사항들을 고찰해보고, CI의 적용대상이 될 수 있는 항목들을 추출하여 이를 사례연구를 통해 적용시켜보고자 하였다.

  • The research on applying typographic medium to typography has been active, and the results have been Used on designs. ut method of applying editing design in imaginary space in the Web environment to typographic medium has been used in actual life instead of editing design for print outs. In this treatise, we will look into appropriate method to apply typography under the Web environment through research , and limitation of applying typography as a method to apply typography into the Web environment appropriately, and discuss the alternative for it.

  • The way people read news is changing, from print to screen. In this study, we aimed to understand the impact of the use of infographics in news on readers. According to a study conducted by Reuters Research Institute at the University of Oxford in 2017, the proportion of online consumers of news is steadily increasing, with over 51 per cent of Americans receiving news via social media. Additionally, newspaper subscription rates are rapidly declining. According to previous studies, the understanding of text information is higher in print media than on screen. Therefore, to compensate for the weaknesses in the understanding of online news, online news media are providing infographic news services to deliver good news. Therefore, this study attempted to understand the impact of using infographics in the news. To this end, three experiments were conducted. The findings from the study indicate that the use of infographics in news has a positive effect on users in terms of the variables measured, including cognitive effect and acceptance of news. As compared with print news, on-screen news was not as effective in terms of comprehension. However, we propose interactive infographics to enhance communication effect along with improved design.

  • CIP, or Corporate Identity Program is a program to standardize, conforming to a set of regulations, various visual media which form a corporate environment based on the concepts drawn from the corporate strategies in order to actively create a planned but ideal corporate image. However, both the recent corporate renovation and the emergence of a new type of corporations prompted by a rapid change in an corporate environment caused the existing corporate concepts to be adapted to such a change. Particularly various visual media related to a corporate image are getting digitalized, and the emergence of a new and varied type of visual media give rise to a new pattern of the identity design accommodating such changes. It may be improper and insufficient for the existing CIP to be applied on the franchising business which is considered most suitable for the new corporate environment. Business firm's office work has long been operated in an computing environment where the computer does all the work, and an individual home as well as small business began widely using the computer. It may therefore be necessary that the corporate identity design for the franchising business should include not only the use of visual media but new, ultramodern information media as well, departing from the CIP heavily centered on the usual print media. This study, for this reason, separates the identity design for the franchising business from the existing CIP to call it FIP, or Franchise Identity Program, and discusses its concept and details.

  • This study focused on the transition from modularity of a mechanical construction system to the seriality in a digital production system in architecture and arguing how digital design process affects the design of surface in the contemporary architecture and development of digital technology actively intermediate surface of architecture and expressive characteristics of media on surface. The analysis of two exhibition facilities of Herzog & de Meuron expose process of fabrication in the surface design and makes possible to implementation of the concept of code to seriality which shows images employed to reveal immediate representation of the perceptual communication with humans and architecture through the role and significance of digital design techniques.
