An Effective Pattern Selection Process for Developing of Pattern Based Software (패턴 기반 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 효과적인 패턴 선정 프로세스)

  • Over the past decade, several types of design pattern have been defined in the software engineering area. But these patterns have not been used so often compared with data structure and algorithm. Likewise, methods to select and apply design patterns during analysis, design, and development are not mentioned in CBD methodologies such as CBD96, RUP, and MaRMI III. This paper suggests the process of effectively selecting design patterns which can be applied to analysis, design, and development for development of application software with based on those offered by GoF and J2EE pattern catalogs. It also demonstrates how to effectively pattern-based software and shows differences and relative advantages from RUP by applying the suggested process to the development of aviation job application.

  • 디자인 패턴은 소프트웨어 -특히, 객체지향 소프트웨어- 의 개발시 재 사용성을 높기 위해서 사용되며, 이는 상속(Inheritance)과 같은 코드레벨 재사용 (code reuse) 보다 높은 레벨의 디자인 재사용 (design reuse)을 가능하게 한다. 디자인 패턴은 구체적인 문제에 대해 구체적인 해를 제공하는 cookbook과는 달리, 추상적인 문제에 대해 추상적인 해를 제시함으로써, 비슷한 부류의 문제에 적용할 수 있으므로 높은 재 사용성을 보장한다. 본 논문은 Retargetable한 특성을 갖는 Instruction set simulator의 개발에 디자인 패턴을 적용한 예를 보여줌으로써, 재 사용성 및 확장성을 높이는 방안을 소개한다.

An Empirical Study on the Contextual Features of the Program Components during the Process of Social Work Program Design in the Social Service Agencies (사회복지 프로그램 구성요소개발활동의 실태 및 구성요소의 동질적인 범주성에 대한 실증적 연구 : 3단계 디자인 활동 중심으로)

  • The purposes of the study are to describe the feature of the program components, and to identify their changes in the process of designing the social work programs in the community service agencies in Korea. In order to achieve these purposes, the researchers constructed an analytical framework including 24 program components derived from the related literatures. Data was collected by questionnaires answered by the social workers who were in charge of the program development and implementation. Descriptive statistics analysis and factor analysis were applied to exam the features of the program components in 195 social service programs developed by the funds from the Community Chest of Korea and a private funding foundation. As the result of the analysis, the three noticeable features are found; (1) the agencies have very actively involved in the designing work in the process of developing practice guideline, however they have less involved in the designing work in the process of implementing program; (2) program components which are low level in design activities are intervention models, staff education, and practical ethics; (3) 8 categories of components derived from the theoretical perspective are reduced to 6 categories in the process for developing practice guidelines, finally to 4 categories in the process for implementing the programs. The implications of major findings were discussed in academic and practical perspectives in Korea, including future research works in the area.

  • The deVelopment of technologies changes the thinking of people and the ways of IMngs. The software developers as well as users are now aware of the importance of graphic user interface design, and the usage of graphic elements is getting rrore and more easier due to the technological improvements based on the windows system(Microsoft). For these reasons, people who engaged in software developments do much more efforts to get user-oentered design solutions, in other words, the usability improvements. And the interdisciplinary projects teams which consist of experts of various fields are increasing in number. But, the lack of understanding on software developments and the proceeding of design work without the consideration of entire process of a project make interface design work difficult. For exampIe, some engineers often think designers as persons who decorate their products in the final stage. In this thesis, through the investigation of user interface design and software development process, the frarnework of effective team projects is proposed. The main purposes of this thesis are to define the work area and position of designers and to propose the interface design process for the cooperative software development projects within the interdiociplinary teams.

  • Design patterns are known widely by the techniques to improve software qualify. The design patterns are efficient solutions for problems occurring frequently in software development. Recently there are wide researches for design patterns to find them and to verify usability for them. But there are very few researches to define systematic development approaches about constructing application using design patterns. In this paper, we propose an approach for the pattern-oriented software development process using incremental composition for design patterns. For this proposal, first we define a development process using design patterns, propose technique for incremental composition for design patterns and view ports for software in the process. Also we deal with the problem of efficient traceability and maintenance to design patterns in the software system. And we use a feedback framework system as an illustrative example to show how the process can be used to develop the pattern-oriented software. In the development of software, the systematic development approach and usage increase efficiency to develop the system by using design experience and technique early in the development lifecycle. Therefore the system will assure the high stability and reusability and offer the low cost and time for development.

  • It's required to develop new design process which reflects objective and quantative data of real market structure and consumers' demand and to understand, use statistical packages and softwares for it in order to make a product design which can satisfy consumr's needs. Product design approachs have, however, merely focused on simple methods of design and have not been improved much so far with regards to customer-oriented design. Therefore, This study aims to help customer-oriented product design with validity and reliability by suggesting successful product design process based on reviewing existing literatures and by providing each steps of design process with optimal approaches reflecting consumers' preference. The results of this study may provide all design related fields with theoretical framework of successful design process and may reinforce competitive ability of design with the development of customer-oriented design process. We need to verify vality of this study by doing some case studies with various products in real market situations and need to develop measurements and survey methods to measure exact customers' perception dimensions.

  • This study applied the User-Centered Design(UCD) to develop effective VR safety training content for specific users. The UCD-based design was tailored to the VR, facilitating efficient design activities. The UCD process comprises key activities: deriving design concepts from user needs, designing with VR features, developing prototypes, conducting comprehensive evaluations with experts and users, and completing the finals. Unlike traditional UCD, this flexible approach allows iterative cycles, enhancing the quality and user satisfaction of VR safety training contents.
