The aim of this study is to evaluate university canadian paddlers' iso-kinetic muscle function and provide training advices. Eight university paddlers with a 8.5 years career participated in this study. Inbody 720, biodex system III, biodex stabilizer system and THP 2 are used to investigate body component, muscle function(peak torque, average power and work fatigue), agility and dynamic balance. Iso-kinetic muscle function around shoulder, thorax and knee are measured. And then bilateral and unilateral muscle imbalance are calculated at each joint. Results of this study are as follows; University canadian paddlers' BMI average is 24.90 $kg/m^2$ and percent body fat is 12.23%. Reaction time average was 324 msec and balance score at each leg are below 2.0. A3, A4, A5, A6, A8 are needed to train shoulder muscle strength and power. A1, A2, A7, A8 are needed to strengthen shoulder muscle endurance. A2, A5, A8 are needed to train thorax muscle strength and power. A1, A8 are needed to strengthen thorax muscle endurance. Most of paddlers' reciprocal muscle balance ratio on thorax and knee are out of normal range. A2, A3, A4, A8 are needed to train abdominal strength and A3, A5, A6, A7, A8 are needed to train hamstring strength.

The purpose of the dissertation is to offer basic data available for being conducive to application of a training program by comparatively analyzing the players' physical strength, the knee joint, a hip joint, power of the trunk joint and muscle power in order to study isokinetic strength and muscle power between short distance athletes and Taekwondo players. This study measured peak power, %Body weight peak power, always power, and %Body weight peak power targeting 8 male athletes and 8 male Taekwondo players who warmed up 10 minutes before from the test to reduce repulsion and unfamiliarity at the instrument. The power of the knee joint($60^{\circ}$/sec), muscle power($180^{\circ}$/sec), were measured by using HUNOM(U.S.A). As a result of the physical strength, statistically, short distance athletes were indicated to be better in muscle strength, muscular endurance than Taekwondo players, and there was no significant difference between flexibility, power, and muscular endurance. Although the short distance athletes were indicated to be better in right and left muscle strength of knee joint than Taekwondo player, there was no significant difference and Taekwonde players were indicated to be higher at the right and left muscle power than short distance athletes.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of muscle asymmetry of knee joint among elite cyclists on anaerobic pedaling power related capacity. In another word, based on isokinetic strength of Non-Dominant, ND and Dominant, D, side, high, moderate and low ratio of ND to D were classified as High Symmetry Group, Moderate Symmetry Group and Asymmetry Group, respectively. Analysis of muscle asymmetry of extensor's ND and D side might not lead to any difference between the three groups. Based on muscle strength analysis of the flexor's ND and D, there was statistical difference between the groups in ND flexor and in the muscle balance index of the flexor muscle. This result also leads to significant difference in pedaling power functionality, but this effects might not lead to any negative pedaling power. Therefore, among even cyclists who may show almost the same recruitment pattern of ND and D side during pedaling stroke muscle asymmetry could exist but this phenomena might not negatively contribute to the pedaling capacity.
The flexors and extensors of the knee joint are essential for maintaining body stability. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between the isokinetic parameters of the knee flexor and extensor muscles and the function of the lower extremity muscles. Twenty-two healthy adults participated in this study. The time to peak torque (TTP), acceleration time (AT), and peak torque (PT) of the knee flexor and extensor muscles were measured. A 20m sprint, Sargent jump, one leg hop test, and side shuffle were measured to evaluate lower extremity function. The correlation between each variable was analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient. PT of the knee flexor showed a significant correlation with single leg hops and 6M hops in a single leg. PT of knee extensors was found to be significantly correlated with Sargent jumps and triple hops. Based on the results of this study, we suggest that the strength of the knee flexor and extensor muscles has the potential to be used to predict lower extremity function.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of participation in the accelerated rehabilitation with an anti-gravity treadmill program for 16 weeks on isokinetic myofunction and functional score of knee joint, ROM, and VAS score in meniscus repair patients. A total of 10 male adult patients who underwent meniscus repair by the same doctor were investigated in this study. Both extension and flexion peak torque at $60^{\circ}/sec$ and $180^{\circ}/sec$ significantly increased (p<0.001, p<0.01), while under muscle deficit, extension and flexion peak torque at $60^{\circ}/sec$ and extension peak torque at $180^{\circ}/sec$ significantly decreased (p<0.01, p<0.05). ROM in extension significantly decreased (p<0.05), whereas ROM in flexion significantly increased (p<0.01) in response to the program. VAS score significantly decreased (p<0.001) and lysholm scores significantly increased after completion of the program (p<0.001). These results suggest that 16 weeks of the anti-gravity treadmill accelerated rehabilitation program improves isokinetic muscle strength and functional score of knee joint, ROM, and VAS score in meniscus repair patients. Therefore, the anti-gravity treadmill accelerated rehabilitation program, which is a more scientific and effective method than conventional rehabilitation, leads to faster recovery of paly ground and normal daily activities.
This study conducted the following experiment to examine change of biophysical and physical fitness function on combined exercise program in 20' female university students with obesity according to heights of insole. Obesity related biophysical function was measured by basal metabolism and percent body fat(% Fat) and health related physical fitness was measured by isokinetic strength of quadriceps femoris muscle, muscular endurance, flexibility and power on comparative analysis of pre, post exercise and each groups(0cm, 5cm, 9cm) in 36 female university students with obesity subject according to heights of insole. These result lead us to the conclusion that each group were statistically improved at isokinetic muscular strength of quadriceps femoris muscle and basal metabolism, but 5cm group compared with 0cm and 9cm group was more significant improvement. Consequently, combination exercise applying appropriate heights of insole would be lead to positive increment of muscular strength and basal metabolism.
This study is to present objective data for the approaches of therapeutic exercise for the correction of genu varum by making an analysis and a comparison of the hip joints' ROM and isokinetic muscles of the female college students with straight legs with those of a female college student with idiopathic genu varum. Additionally, the state of the adductor muscle's thighs and the deep muscles of the subjects with bowed legs were experimented and the equipment's effect and applicability was reviewed through the process of the movement of newly developed exercise equipment, Balloa(2013, Balloa/Adonia/Korea). As a result, a person with genu varum needs the height increasing method for increasing external rotation ROM of a hip joint and requires the exercise techniques to strengthen external rotator muscles and to inhibit the activity of internal rotator muscles of a hip joint. Balloa increases the external rotation ROM of a hip joint and strengthens gluteal muscles, deep muscles, and adductor muscles, and the equipment's function of muscle strengthening shows that the equipment is an effective corrective exercise for the patients of genu varum.

This study was conducted to compare the muscle strength, muscle power, and H/Q ratio according to energy system contribution in athletes participating in various sports. Subjects of the study were assigned into an Anaerobic Exercise Group (AEG, n=60; Short-Distance, Weight Lifting, Jumping, Throwing, Bowling, Golf) and an Endurance Exercise Group (EEG, n=60; Modern Pentathlon, Field Hockey, Handball, Cycle, Boxing, Rowing) groups. Isokinetic peak torque/body weight% and flexor/extensor ratio at 60, 180 deg/sec of knee extension and flexion were measured using an cybex 770. Data analysis was conducted using an independent t-test and one-way ANOVA. Based on the results of this study, there was higher extension, flexion strength and flexion power in the AEG than the EEG (p<0.05). We also confirmed higher muscle strength and muscle power in short distance and jumping athletes than other athletes participating in other events (p<0.05). However, there was no significant difference within the endurance exercise group. The HS ratio was within a stable range of 50% to 60% in all events. Collectively, the outcomes of this study indicate that routine physiological and performance testing can provide measurable benefits for elite athletes and their coaches.

Chin Tuck Against Resistance Exercise(CTARE) and Shaker exercise is used to common for strengthening of suprahyoid muscle. No previous studies was compare of two exercises for patients with dyaphagia. This study investigated the effects of CTARE and Shaker exercise on suprahyoid, sternocleidomastoid muscle activity in stroke older patients with dysphagia. Ten stroke patients with dyaphagia voluntarily participated in this study. All subjects was performed in the order in the CTARE (isometric, isokinetic), Shaker (isometric, isokinetic), and repeated each ten trials. After CTARE was performed, subjects took a 5 min wash out period to minimize muscle fatigue. Activity of suprahyoid and sternocleidomastoid muscle during two training was analyzed using surface electromyography(sEMG). Wilcoxon signed rank test was used to assess differecences for muscles activity between the effects of the CTAR and Shaker exercise within group. CTARE and Shaker exercise showed no significant difference activity in suprahyoid muscle(p > .05). CTARE showed significantly lower muscle activity in sternocleidomastoid muscle than Shaker exercise(p < .05). CTARE in stroke older patients with dysphagia may be a effective intervention to improve swallowing function than Shaker exercise.

This study determines the effect of 3D compression pants and Kinesio taping on muscular function of the leg during knee joint flexion and extension. Eight males participated in the experiment, wearing basic pants (BP), Kinesio taping on bare skin (KT), 3D compression pants with (KTP) and without Kinesio taping (CP). The test protocol for isokinetic muscular function was composed of four sets at three angular velocities (60, 180, $240^{\circ}/sec$) using Cybex 660. Peak torque and work per repetition of the lower limbs of eight males were analyzed from the result of Cybex. Agility and power of the subjects were examined from side step and sergeant jump. Peak torque, average power, work per repetition, force decay time of subjects wearing CP and KTP were significantly better than BP or KT, especially at low angular velocity of $60^{\circ}/sec$. The time to generate peak torque of subjects wearing BP was the longest, while the force-decay time of BP was the shortest. The application of Kinesio tape on skin did not increase muscle peak torque, work and power, but did shorten the time to generate peak torque.
