Inspection Technology Development Based on Wireless Sensor Network for Agricultural Water Management (농업용수관리를 위한 WSN 기반 점검기술 개발)

  • 관개배수를 수행하는 농업용 수리시설물은 소규모이고 개소수가 많아 효율적으로 관리하기가 어려우며, 넓은 지역에 분포하고 있어 시설 현황의 파악조차 쉽지 않다. 농업용 수리시설물은 점검자가 관리항목을 종이 조사표에 수기로 작성하여 시설상태를 점검하고 있기 때문에 자료의 누락 및 오류, 전산화를 위한 재입력 과정 등에 있어서 어려움이 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 시설물을 효과적으로 관리하기 위해서는 정보망을 구성하여 원격으로 관리하거나, 직접 시설물을 돌아보며 관리해야 한다. 전자의 경우에는 비용이 많이 들기 때문에 적은 수의 관리지점을 제어하는 데는 유리하나, 농업용 수리시설물과 같이 개체수가 많을 경우에는 적용이 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 농업용 수리시설 점검 및 관리의 편의성, 효율성을 제고하기 위하여 농업용 수리시설물에 대하여 점검표준코드를 설계하였으며, WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) 기반의 점검기술 (RFID 및 QR코드)을 개발, 현장 적용을 통하여 활용성을 평가하였다. WSN 기술을 바탕으로 빠르고 정확하게 시설물을 인식할 수 있으며, 식별한 시설물의 정보를 바탕으로 현장에서 시설물에 대한 적절한 대응이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 개발한 기술은 대한민국 이동 지구의 시설물을 관리하는 데 직접 이용함으로써 평가하였다. 본 연구는 기존 농업용 수리시설물 점검의 비효율성을 개선하고 시설물 안전 평가 및 현장 이력 관리 등 현장 업무 효율 향상을 통해 농업용 수리시설 관리 및 농업용수 관리에 기여하는 바가 클 것으로 기대된다.

Effect of Pelvic Tilting and the Back-belt on Electromyographic Activity of Erector Spinae During Lifting (골반경사 방향과 허리벨트 착용이 물건 들고 일어서기 시 척추기립근의 활동전위에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study were to examine the effect of two different pelvic alignments and the back belt on electromyographic(EMG) activity of the erector spinae during lifting. The results were as follows: 1) EMG activity of erector spinae was greater when the pelvis was tilted anteriorly than when the pelvis was tilted posteriorly during lifting. 2) EMG activity of erector spinae was greater when the back belt than when without the back belt during lifting. These results suggest that the greater EMG activity of erector spinae with an anterior pelvic tilt position and with back belt during lifting may ensure optimal muscular support for the spine while handling loads.

The Effect of Noise and Background Music on the Trunk Muscle Fatigue during Dynamic Lifting and Lowering Tasks (들기/내리기 작업 시 소음과 배경음악이 몸통근육 피로도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to define the effects of noise and background music on the trunk muscle fatigue during dynamic lifting and lowering tasks. Six healthy male subjects with no prior history of low back disorders participated in this study. The participants were exposed to two levels of background noise such as 40dB noise and 90dB noise and three levels of background music such as no music, slow music, and fast music. Six different combinations of background noise and background music were played while the participants were performing the lifting task at 15% level of Maximum Voluntary Contraction. Electromyography signals from six muscles were collected and fatigue levels were analyzed quantitatively. In results, the 90dB noise increased trunk muscle fatigue and slowed down the recovery. The trunk muscle fatigue was the lowest when the fast music was played for as background. After recovery, the 90dB noise increased trunk muscle fatigue. The trunk muscle fatigue was the lowest when the slow music was played for as background. The results can be useful to manage the cumulative fatigue of trunk muscles due to background noise and music during repetitive lifting and lowering tasks in industry.

Electromyographic Analysis of Muscle Activity and Fatigue of the Paraspinal Muscles During a Repetitive Lifting Task (반복 들기 작업에 따른 허리주변 근육의 근활성도와 근피로도에 대한 근전도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a repetitive lifting task on the level of activation and median frequency of the paraspinal muscles, and to provide basic data of the maximal acceptable duration of the lifting task to avoid muscle fatigue. Ten healthy male subjects were recruited as participants and they repetitively (12 lifts/min) lifted a box ($46cm{\times}30cm{\times}30cm$, 15 kg) for 10 minutes. Electromyographic data (muscle activation and median frequency), heart rate, and Borg CR10 score were recorded at 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 minutes after the lifting task. Electromyographic data was recorded from the elector spinalis, mutifidus, external oblique abdominis, and rectus abdominis for 1 minute. The results showed that as the repetitive lifting task progressed, the heart rate and Borg CR10 score significantly increased. In addition, activation of the muscles increased. The median frequency significantly decreased over time in the elector spinalis, mutifidus, and external oblique abdominis (right side), except for the external oblique abdominis (left side) and rectus abdominis. It is suggested that the median frequency recorded from a dynamic task is used to monitor muscle fatigue. Furthermore, the repetitive lifting task (15 kg, 12 lifts/min) should not continue for more than 3 minutes in order to avoid muscle fatigue.

Comparison of Three Existing Methods for Predicting Compressive Force on the Lumbosacral Disc (들기작업 설계와 평가를 위한 요천추의 Compressive Force 예측모형 비교연구)

  • The main objective of this study is to compare three representative methods predicting compressive forces on lumbosacral disc : LP-based method, double LP-based method and EMG-assisted method. Two subjects simulated lifting tasks performed in the refractories industry, in which vertical and horizontal distance, and weight of load were varied. To calculate the L5/S1 compressive forces, EMG signals from six trunk muscles were measured and postural data and locations of load were recorded using the Motion Analysis System. The EMG-assisted model was shown to reflect well all three factors considered here. On the other hand, the compressive forces of the LP-based model and the double LP-based model were only significantly affected by weight of load. In addition, lowly positive correlation was observed between compressive forces of the EMG-assisted model and lifting index(LI) of 1991 NIOSH lifting equation. From this results, it can be concluded that compressive forces on L5/S1 by the EMG-assisted method should be used as biomechanical criterion in order to evaluate risk of jobs precisely, and LI can not evaluate risk of lifting tasks fully.

A study on coupling effect during lifting (들기 작업시 손잡이의 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Despite rapid technological advance and increased automation facilities, many jobs and activities in our living require manual materials handling(MMH). These include wide variety of activities such as moving things, lifting bags. boxes or cartons, etc. Many studies found that handle could affect on maximum acceptable weight of lifting, but there were few studies f3r the effects of work posture and coupling in lifting tote box. This study performed that ten male college students were required to lift a tote box with and without handle for three postures (bending, straight, right angle posture). From the experiment, following results were obtained. (1) MVC reduced maximum 23% by type of handle. (2) MVC was highest in straight posture, but was lowest in right angle posture. (3) As a result of ANOVA, MVC paid attention to posture and coupling. (p<0.01) (4) To all handle types, biceps brachii activity was increased in right angle posture. but reduced in straight posture. (5) To all posture, biceps brachii activity was most lively in no handle. The results of MVC measurement, subjective rating, EMG analysis, statistic analysis showed that maximum acceptable weight of lifting was influenced by type of handle and straight posture was more comfortable than other postures. Based on these results, it was concluded that acceptable weight of lifting has to differ for work posture and coupling.

The Development of a SVR-based Empirical Model for the Effect of the Unbalanced Floor Height on MVC of Lifting Task (불균형한 바닥높이가 들기 작업의 최대발휘근력에 미치는 영향 분석을 위한 SVR 예측모델 설계)

  • Low back pain is one of major issues in musculoskeletal diseases mainly caused by MMH (Manual Material Handling) tasks. In Korea, the standards of NIOSH(National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) Lift Equations in U. S. A. have been most widely used. However, there is no standard in case the height of one feet is higher than that of another one. Moreover, since the standards are developed in U. S. A., there are many limitations for the applicability of Korean workers. In this study, MVC(Maximum Voluntary Contraction) for four postures are measured and an empirical model based on SVR(Support Vector Regression) is constructed. Constructing SVR model, PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) is employed to investigate the optimal parameters of SVR. The results show that the performance of this empirical model is approximately accurate, even if the deviation of experimental values is large due to the individual differences. This empirical model may contribute to establish the standards of MMH tasks in Korea.

Comparisons of Abdominal Muscles Thickness During Single Leg Holding Exercise on Stable Surface and on a Foam Roller Using Ultrasound Imaging (안정된 면과 폼 롤러 위에서 한 발 들기 자세 시 초음파를 이용한 복근들의 두께 양상 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the thickness of the abdominal muscles during single leg holding exercise (SLH) in a hooked lying position on stable surface and on a foam roller. Healthy twenty subjects who had no medical history of lower extremity or lower back pain were recruited for this study. Muscle thickness of transverse abdominis (TrA), internal oblique (IO), and external oblique (EO) was recorded using real-time ultrasonography during SLH. Paired t-test with Bonferroni adjustment was used to compare the muscles thickness during SLH on stable surface and on a foam roller. The result showed that TrA and IO muscle demonstrated greater thickness during SLH on foam roller than those on the stable surface. This finding suggests that SLH on an unstable foam roller is more effective to increase thicknesses of TrA and IO muscles than stable surface.

  • Due to the administrative expand and the paradigm shift in global environments, the range for the enterprises assessment are now expanding to inclusive administration assessment including all kinds of accidents in work places as well as products and services. Therefore continuous investment and concern to safety and health are needed since some faults in safety and health lead to the enormous expense as well as decline of brand image. In this paper, n are concerned with the safety administration in industrial field and analyze the accident data, before and after the establishment of specialized organization for accident prevention, using the reliability growth model of Duane. The validity of the model is verified under the assumptions of NHPP(non-homegeneous Poisson process) of the accidents.

  • 現代 컴퓨터의 연산장치(Arithmetic unit)의 design을 하는데 있어서 가장 중요하게 요구점점되는 點은 계산의 속도(Computational speed)와 計算의 정확성 (Computational accuracy)이라고 보겠다. 여기서는 정보처리기(Information processor)로서 또는 非數理的인 연산(Non-numeric operation)을 위한 도구로서 보다는 數理的 연산(Arithmetic)을 수행하는 도구로서의 컴퓨터 연산에 限해서만 論하고자 한다. 대개의 경우 기계를 고안하는 사람들은 계사의 속도에 對해서는 특별한 관심을 갖고 그러한 목적에 맞는 기계를 만들어 낼려고 하지만 數値의 정 확성(Numerical accuracy)에 對해서ㅡ 등한시했던 경우가 많았다고 보겠다. 그러 나 이 두 條件 즉 빠른 속도 틀림없는 정확성을 同時에 충족 시키고자 하는 것이 기계 고안자들의 理想 목포가 되는 것은 사시링다. 여기에 수반도는 문제는 제작 비를 고려하지 않을 수 없다는 것이다. 정화하고 빠른 operation을 할 수 있는 기 계는 너무 비싼 제작비가 들기 때문에 사용목적에 적절하게 두 문제를 절충하여 고려하는 것이 일반적이라 하겠다. 初期의 컴퓨터는 한 Word(Computer Word)로 서 36개의 bit를 사용한 것이 많았다고 본다. 그러나 1961년 4月 Tennessee에서 Oak Riage National Laboratory와 The Society for Industril and Applied Mathematics 후원하에 일주일에 걸친 국제회의가 열렸었는데 거기 모인 거의 모 든 學者들이 앞으로의 과학 연구용 컴퓨터(Scientific Computer)의 한 Word의 길 이는 적어도 48bit 이상으로 증가시켜야 된다는데 의견을 모았었다고 한다. 이제 rounding error의 성향(begavior)을 알아보기 위한 간단한 例를 들어 봄으로써 이 글을 쓰는 동기으 일면을 대신하고자 한다.
