퍼지 논리를 이용한 드릴의 마모 상태 진단 (Diagnosis of the Drill Wear Based on Fuzzy Logic)

  • 공장 자동화 및 무인 자동화를 실현하기 위해 가장 기본적이며 중요한 기술은 제조공정에 대한 감시 기술이다. 특히 절삭공정에서 생산성을 향상시키기 위해서는 절삭 과정 중 드릴이나 앤드밀 등과 같은 공구의 마모상태가 실시간으로 감시되어야 한다. 본 논문은 드릴 공정에서 퍼지 논리를 도입하여 마모진단 시스템을 구성하였다. 실시간 마모진단을 위해서 절삭력과 절삭력의 변화량을 퍼지 입력 변수로 하여 컴퓨터를 이용한 드릴의 마모상태를 판단하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 퍼지 마모진단 시스템을 평가하기 위하여 퍼지 마모량과 드릴의 실제 마모량을 측정하여 그 결과를 비교하였다.

고속도강에 코팅한 TiN의 마모기구

  • 금속재료에 경도가 큰 TiN을 코팅하면 우수한 내마모성능을 얻을 수 있기 때문에, 이 TiN 코팅은 절삭공구나 금형등의 수명을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법이라고 기대를 모으고 있다. 특히 최근에는 물리증착법이 개발되어, 비교적 낮은 온도에서 연화되는 재료에도 코팅할 수 있게 됨에 따라, 엔드밀, 드릴등의 고속도강계의 절삭공구나 금형등의 수명을 크게 향상시킬 수 있는 방법으로 이 TiN코팅이 커다란 주목을 받게 되었다. 그러나 이 TiN 코팅이 미끄럼중에 어떻게 마모되는지는 아직도 잘 알려지지 않고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 고속도강에 코팅된 TiN의 마모기구를 실험적으로 관찰하여 규명하는 것이다.

  • 본 연구에서는 선반가공에서 일반적인 선반작업 후 밀링이나 드릴링 가공이 가능한 복합가공기의 역할을 한번에 수행할 수 있는 CNC 공구터렛의 홀더 주축에 대한 수학적 모델링을 통하여 시스템의 횡진동 및 비틀림 진동 해석으로 발생할 수 있는 진동 문제에 대처할 수 있는 방안을 제시 하고자 한다.

STS 304 배관재의 드릴가공시 공구마모에 관한 연구 (A Study on Tool Wear in Drilling STS 304 Steel Pipe Material)

  • The purpose of this investigation is experimentally to clarify the machinability and tool wear of STS 304 steel pipe material for piping. In order to determine the effects of cutting parameters and tool wear on thrust, torque, AE RMS, drilling is conducted on CNC milling machine. In this experiment, it is measured that thrust, torque, tool wear length, tool wear area and AE RMS during drilling using Hss tool. It has been found that a) During the drilling, the thrust and the torque of the STS 304 pipe are received more the effect of the feed than the spindle speed and the thrust increase with the increase of feed, b) The value of the AE RMS is been larger the effect of the cutting speed than the feed rate, and the value of the AE RMS increase with the increase of spindle speed, c) It has been found that the suitable feed in feed condition of 0.03, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15mm/rev is below 0.05mm/rev, d) The value of the AE RMS was shown a characteristic of the jump value during it was a sudden inrcrease of the tool wear. The increased character of the AE RMS value can be known an effective factor of the tool wear detection, and e) It can be quantitatively evaluated the condition of the tool according to calculate a area of the drill wear image which is obtained by a vision system.

  • Drilling is one of the most important operations in machining industry and usually the most efficient and economical method of cutting a hole in metal. From automobile parts to aircraft components, almost every manufactured product requires that holes are to be drilled for the purpose of assembly, creation of fluid passages, and so on. It is therefore desirable to monitor drill wear and hole quality changes during the hole drilling process. One important aspect in controlling the drilling process is drill wear status monitoring. With the monitoring, we may decide on optimal timing for tool change. The necessity of the detection of tool wear, fracture and the abnormal tool state has been emphasized in the machining process. Accordingly, this paper deals with the cutting characteristics of the hot-rolled high strength steels using common HSS drill. The performance variables include drill wear data obtained from drilling experiments conducted on the workpiece. The results are obtained from monitoring of the cutting force and Acoustic Emission (AE) signals, and from the detection of the abnormal tool state with the computer vision system.

BTA드릴에 의한 SM55C의 심공가공시 최적절삭조건과 공구수명에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimum Cutting Conditions and Tool Life in Deep Hole Drilling for SM55C by BTA Drill)

  • The deep hole drilling has an increasing demands because of its wide range applications and its good productivity. The BTA drills are capable of machining for having a large length to diameter ratio in single pass to higher degree of accuracy and surface finish. It's really necessary that the investigation for the deep hole drilling by the BTA drill because its required quality should be satisfied with single pass. This thesis deal with the experimental results obtained during single tube BTA system machining on SM55C steel for different machining conditions. The results of the investigation on the optimum cutting condition selecting and tool life reveals as follows. (1) The optimum cutting condition was cutting speed, V = 42 m/min and feed speed. F = 90 mm/min and the tool life was about 10 meters. (2) Surface roughness was $12\mum$ and the roundness was less using $16mum$single edge BTA drill in testing cutting condition.

마이크로 드릴의 최적 생산설계 (Optimum Manufacturing Processes of Micro-drill)

  • Resently, reduction of industrial products in size and weight has increased by the application of micro-drill for gadgets of high precision and gave rise to a great interest in a micro-drilling. Due to the lack of tool stiffness and the chip packing, micro-drilling requires not only the robust tool structure which has not affected by the vibration, but also the effective drilling methods designed to prevent tool fracture from cutting troubles. Firstly, this paper presents a new manufacturing process of micro-drill for improving the product rate and an optimum shape of micro-drill for lengthening the tool life, and secondly suggests between tool life and drilling torque acquired in the inprocess monitoring system.

Due to the lack of tool stiffness and the chip packing, the micro-drilling requires not only the robust tool structure which has not affected by vibration but also effective drilling methods designed to prevent tool fracture from cutting troubles. This paper presents an optimum design shape of a 0.15 mm micro-drill associated with a new manufacturing process to improve the production rate and to lengthen the tool life and suggestions on the micro-drilling characteristic properties associated with the tool life and workpiece quality.
