A MapReduce-based kNN Join Query Processing Algorithm for Analyzing Large-scale Data (대용량 데이터 분석을 위한 맵리듀스 기반 kNN join 질의처리 알고리즘)

  • Recently, the amount of data is rapidly increasing with the popularity of the SNS and the development of mobile technology. So, it has been actively studied for the effective data analysis schemes of the large amounts of data. One of the typical schemes is a Voronoi diagram based on kNN join algorithm (VkNN-join) using MapReduce. For two datasets R and S, VkNN-join can reduce the time of the join query processing involving big data because it selects the corresponding subset Sj for each Ri and processes the query with them. However, VkNN-join requires a high computational cost for constructing the Voronoi diagram. Moreover, the computational overhead of the VkNN-join is high because the number of the candidate cells increases as the value of the k increases. In order to solve these problems, we propose a MapReduce-based kNN-join query processing algorithm for analyzing the large amounts of data. Using the seed-based dynamic partitioning, our algorithm can reduce the overhead for constructing the index structure. Also, it can reduce the computational overhead to find the candidate partitions by selecting corresponding partitions with the average distance between two seeds. We show that our algorithm has better performance than the existing scheme in terms of the query processing time.

Empirical Leisure Environment Satisfaction Evaluation of Public Institution Employees in Innocity (혁신도시 이전 공공기관 종사자의 여가활동 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 -광주·전남 공동혁신도시를 중심으로-)

  • With respect to the growth and development of innocity from improvements in leisure environments, this research examines the factors that affect the level of satisfaction of innocity leisure environments to propose political implications. In order to do so, 43 leisure activities were chosen, and the level of importance of those activities to the residents prior to moving to the innocity was compared to the level of satisfaction the residents felt regarding the activities after moving. As a result, 13 activities, including literature attendance, had greater levels of satisfaction after moving than the levels of importance prior to moving. The rest (30) activities showed the opposite results. We deduced the factors that affect the level of satisfaction by performing logistic regression analysis on 3 dependent variables. As a result, the static and passive leisure activities had higher satisfactory levels, whereas the dynamic and active had lower satisfactory levels. Thus, innocity must develop culture facilities quickly, expand exercise facilities to support sports activties, and promote tourism by improving and networking with tourist attractions in order to improve future satisfactory levels of leisure activities.

  • Since the first sale of a banner advertisement in 1995, electronic commerce has become a new transaction channel for consumers. With more than 20 years of its history, electronic commerce has become an important consumption channel for everyone and inexperience is no more a reason that discourages the consumption through this channel. The great expansion of this channel is now a formidable thereat to traditional channels. However, products with high asset specificity and complexity are still having difficulty to be traded over the online channel where the experience of the products for a consumer is limited. Especially, variations of the same product's quality depending on how pre-owners used the product and high complexity to describe the quality of the products prevent used goods from being traded over e-channels. Added to that, the information asymmetry between sellers and buyers for used goods makes the establishment of market transaction difficult. Considering the challenges, the current case study discusses thredUP, a clothing resale platform company. In this paper, we study how the company could overcome those limitations in this toughest resale market through the use of AI for dynamic pricing and standarized product quality ratings. In addition, we also hope to provide readers with the opportunity to understand the secondhand industries and its market, and see where it is heading for in the future.

  • 가정 내에서의 초고속망 이용이 활성화되면서 가정 내에서의 활동은 매우 다양하고 복잡하며 그에 따른 서비스도 여러 가지 형태가 존재한다. 외부 인터넷망과 연동되는 홈 네트워크의 개념이 생기기 전부터 흠 오토메이션, 홈시큐리티 등의 서비스를 제공하기 위한 고립적인 형태의 망과 서비스 제공 시스템이 있었다. 월드 와이드 웹 서비스를 기본으로 한 인터넷의 폭발적인 활성화와 고속 인터넷망의 확산에 따라 가정 내에서 제공되는 서비스를 인터넷과 연계시키려는 시도가 보편화되었고 가정 내에서 사용되는 독립적인 기기들을 인터넷에 연결하여, 외부의 정보를 이용해서 활용하거나, 가전내의 기기들을 외부에서 액세스할 수 있게 되었다. 이렇게 하여 보다 풍부한 서비스를 제공하고, 사용상의 시간적인 제약을 완화할 수 있다. 예들 들어 인터넷상에서 조리법을 전송받아 전자레인지를 작동할 수 있으며, 외부에서 잘못 켜둔 가스밸브를 잠글 수도 있다. 가정 내에서 wrhd되던 이러한 서비스들은 서로 다른 하드웨어와 통신방법을 사용하고 있어, 이러한 서비스를 통합하여 운영, 관리할 수 있도록 하는 흠 서버의 개념이 대두되었다. 외부 인터넷 망과 연계된 흠 오토메이션, 홈 시큐리티등을 제공할 수 있는 기반이 마련되었고, 가정 내에서 독립적으로 제공되던 서비스들을 단일 홈 서버를 통해서 관리하려는 시도가 진행되었다. 그러나 홈 서버는 개발하는 업체의 보유기술에 따라 중심기능은 약간씩 차이를 보이고 있다. 홈 서버 응용 영역은 전문 지식을 소유한 인력과의 연계가 필요하고, 다양한 서비스 영역 행위가 아주 복잡하기 때문에 이들을 연결해 주는 자치 시스템을 필요로 한다. 또한 홈 서버 서비스 영역에서 정보는 각 영역 전문가가 가진 지식의 전달을 필요로 하기 때문에, 지식을 주고받는 멀티 에이전트의 시스템의 활용 영역으로 적당하다. 멀티 에이전트 시스템은 분산된 환경에서 에이전트간에 에이전트 통신 언어를 사용해서 대화를 하기도 하고, 상호 협력하는 에이전트들로 구성된 시스템을 뜻하며 흠 서버처럼 동적이고 고도의 자치성을 요구하는 영역에 적당하다. 멀티 에이전트 플랫폼으로는 FIPA(Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents)가 제시한 에이전트 표준 플랫폼이 1997년부터 2000년에 이르기까지, 계속적으로 변화, 발전하고 있다. 본 연구는 FIPA에서 제시하는 플랫폼을 기반으로 홈 서버에 정보가전을 제어하는 에이전트를 두고 외부에서 다른 에이전트가 홈 서버에 위치하는 에이전트와의 통신을 통하기 정보가전을 지능적으로 제어하도록 하였다. 정보가전 에이전트는 가정 내 가전제품을 외부에서 제어하기 위한 에이전트이다. 단순한 관리가 아닌 에이전트로 하여금 지능적으로 가전제품 관리를 하게 한다. 정보가전 에이전트는 홈 서버에서 작동하는 에이전트와 PDA에서 작동하는 에이전트로 구성된다. 정보가전 에이전트는 전력량, 수도 사용량 제어와 가전제품 제어 기능과 보안 관련 서비스를 제공한다. 두 에이전트는 FIPA에서 정의된 규격에 맞게 만들어지기 때문에 FIPA명세서를 따르는 다른 에이전트와 자유로운 통신이 가능하다.

The Thermal Properties Analysis of the Mixtures Composed with Epoxy Resin and Amine Curing Agent (에폭시 수지/방향족 아민 경화물의 배합비 변화에 따른 열적 특성 분석)

  • In this work, a series of molar ratios composed with YD-128 and DDM were chosen based on the viscosity analysis. The mixtures of YD-128 and DDM with the different molar ratios were cured at $170^{\circ}C$ for 15 min followed by post cure at $190^{\circ}C$ for two hours. The thermal properties of the cured samples were investigated with DSC, TGA, DMA, and TMA. The conversion ratio of the mixtures of YD-128 and DDM (1 : 1.1) was calculated by dividing ${\Delta}H$ obtained from DSC experiments for each cured sample by ${\Delta}H$. The TGA data of the cured samples showed that the thermal stability and thermal degradation activation energy were proportional to the amount of DDM in the mixtures. However, the highest tan ${\delta}$, and the lowest thermal expansion data with DMA and TMA respectively were obtained from the stoichiometric mixture of YD-128 and DDM. Furthermore, the different ratio of mixtures were applied to test specimens to be cured at $170^{\circ}C$ to measure single lap shear strength with universal testing machine.

Real-Time Power-Saving Scheduling Based on Genetic Algorithms in Multi-core Hybrid Memory Environments (멀티코어 이기종메모리 환경에서의 유전 알고리즘 기반 실시간 전력 절감 스케줄링)

  • Recently, due to the rapid diffusion of intelligent systems and IoT technologies, power saving techniques in real-time embedded systems has become important. In this paper, we propose P-GA (Parallel Genetic Algorithm), a scheduling algorithm aims at reducing the power consumption of real-time systems in multi-core hybrid memory environments. P-GA improves the Proportional-Fairness (PF) algorithm devised for multi-core environments by combining the dynamic voltage/frequency scaling of the processor with the nonvolatile memory technologies. Specifically, P-GA applies genetic algorithms for optimizing the voltage and frequency modes of processors and the memory types, thereby minimizing the power consumptions of the task set. Simulation experiments show that the power consumption of P-GA is reduced by 2.85 times compared to the conventional schemes.

Characteristics and Efficiency Analysis of Evolutionary Seoul Metropolitan Subway Network (진화하는 서울 지하철 망의 특성과 효율성 분석)

  • The metropolitan subway network of Seoul has gone through many evolutionary processes in past decades to disperse the floating population and improve the traffic flow. In this study, we analyzed how the structural characteristics and the efficiency of the subway network have changed according to the dynamic evolutionary processes of the metropolitan subway network of Seoul. We have also proposed new measures that can be used to characterize the structural properties of the subway network more practically. It is shown that the global efficiency is about 74%, which is higher than those of subway networks of foreign countries. It should also be considered that passenger flow between stations is even higher, at about 85%. Since the private lines, including line 9, the New Bundang line, the Uijeongbu line, and the Ever line do not release their traffic data since September, 2013, only 5 years of data from September, 2008 to September, 2013 is available. So, in this study we limit the analysis period to these 5 years.

Development of Intelligent Multi-Agent in the Game Environment (게임 환경에서의 지능형 다중 에이전트 개발)

  • Recently, research on the multi-agent system is developed actively in the various fields, especially on the control of complex system and optimization. In this study, we develop a multi-agent system for NPC simulation in game environment. The purpose of the development is to support quick and precise decision by inferencing the situation of the dynamic discrete domain, and to support an optimization process of the agent system. Our approach employed Petri-net as a basic agent model to simplify structure of the system, and used fuzzy inference engine to support decision making in various situation. Our experimentation describes situation of the virtual battlefield between the NPCs, which are divided two groups, such as fuzzy rule based agent and automata based agent. We calculate the percentage of winning and survival rate from the several simulations, and the result describes that the fuzzy rule based agent showed better performance than the automata based agent.

The Development of the Writing Software for the Electronic Blackboard Supporting the User Action Recognition Functions (사용자 동작 인식 기능을 지원하는 판서 소프트웨어 개발)

  • By the dissemination of the electronic blackboard systems, smart devices, and digital contents, the Korean government is recently conducting the project that replaces the classic education which utilizes paper textbooks with SMART education using various devices. Also, teachers in the field must be easily able to use SMART education infrastructure for the activation of SMART education. Especially, since the electronic blackboard is expected as a education device which will be most common for teachers, the writing software operated on the this device must supports a simple interface. And the usage of it must be simple. In this paper, we developed the writing software for the electronic blackboard which everyone can use easily. Our writing software supports the basic writing function, the human gesture recognition function which recognizes the user gesture and performs works corresponding with that gesture, and the automatic button alignment function based on the frequency of the usages.

Intellignce Modeling of Nonlinear Process System Using Fuzzy Neyral Networks-based Structure (퍼지-뉴럴네트워크 구조에 의한 비선형 공정시스템의 지능형 모델링)

  • In this paper, an optimal idenfication method using fuzzy-neural networks is proposed for modeling of nonlinear complex systems. The proposed fuzzy-neural modeling implements system structure and parameter identification using the intelligent schemes together wlth optimization theory, linguistic fuzzy implication rules, and neural networks(NNs) from input and output data of processes. Inference type for this fuzzy-neural modeling is presented as simplified inference. To obtain optimal model, the learning rates and momentum coefficients of fuzzy-neural networks(FNNs) are tuned automatically using improved modified complex method and modified learning algorithm. For the purpose of its application to nonlinear processes, data for route choice of traffic problems and those for activateti sluge process of sewage treatment system are used for the purpose of evaluating the performance of the proposed fuzzy-neural network modeling. The results show that the proposed method can produce the intelligence model with higher accuracy than other works achieved previously.
