Seismic Design of Mid-to-Low Rise Steel Moment Frames Based on Available Connection Rotation Capacity (접합부 회전능력에 기초한 중/저층 철골모멘트골조의 내진설계)

  • A displacement-based seismic design procedure was proposed for mid-to-low-rise steel moment frames. The proposed method was totally different from the current R-factor approach in that it directly uses available connection rotation capacity as a primary design variable. To this end, the relationship between available connection rotation capacity and seismic response modification (R factor) was established first; this relationship has been a missing link in current ductility-based design practice. A step-by-step displacement-based iterative design procedure was then proposed and verified using inelastic dynamic analysis.

  • 본논문에서는 강섬유 철근 콘크리트 보(SFRC) 의 감쇄 거동에 대해서 실험적인 방법과 수치 해석적인 방법으로 연구를 수행하였다 SFRC는 보다 향상된 에너지 소산능력으로 일반 철근 콘크리트보에 비하여 뛰어난 감쇄 거동을 보인다. 감쇄거동은 종방향 철근비강섬유의 형태와 부피 콘크리트 강도 응력 수준등에 의해 영향을 받는다 SFRC보의 감쇠는 다양한 수준의 균열상태에서의 동적실험 데이터를 통하여 평가하였다 곡률과 감쇠의 관계식에 기초한 유한요소 프로그램(TICAL) 이 개발되었으며 0.44%의 강섬유를 혼입한 보의 경우 5-35%의 감쇠비 증가를 보였다

비선형 적응 예측방식을 이용한 비안정 신호 예측

  • 본 연구에서는 비선형 동적장치에 의해 발생하는 비안정 신호의 비선형 적응 예측을 위한 효과적 방법을 서술한다. 이 방법을 실제 원자력 발전소의 데이타를 이용하여 이상연상(hetero-association) 방식의 예측을 수행하였다. 다입력/다출력의 신경망은 이러한 비선형 예측에 이용할 수 있으나 학습되지 않은 상황에 대한 예측에는 어려움이 있었다. 본 연구에서 서술한 방법은 학습과 실행이 동시에 가능한 형태로 역전파 학습 (backpropagation learning) 알고리듬을 이용한 다층 인식자 (multilayer perceptron) 신경망과 비교하여 비성형 비안정 신호에 대한 우수한 예측 능력을 보여 주었다.

  • 최근 각 가정에 초고속 인터넷의 급속한 보급에 따라 정보가전간의 제어와 통신을 위한 홈 네트워크가 등장하게 되었다. 이와 같은 홈 네트워크에서는 비디오나 오디오와 같은 멀티미디어 서비스가 주요 트래픽이 될 것으로 예측되고 있다. 그러나 홈 네트워크에서의 각 정보가전은 이질적이고 분산적인 특징을 가지고 있기 때문에 컴퓨팅 능력과 지원 가능한 멀티미디어 타입이 정보가전마다 다르다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 정보가전의 특징에따라 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원할 수 있는 Home Manager(HomeMngr)를 설계하였다. 제안 기법은 이동 에이전트를 이용하여 자원의 동적 재구성과 분산 프로세싱를 수행하여 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하게 된다.

Inelastic Analysis of RC Members Using Repair and Retrofitted Element (보수 및 보강요소를 이용한 RC 부재의 비탄성 해석)

  • In this short paper, an elasto-plastic repair and retrofit element is developed for the investigation of the seismic performance of damaged reinforced concrete members. The developed element is capable of reflecting the increased characteristics due to both repair and retrofitting for degraded strength and stiffness of the members. The element having both birth and death time can freely be activated within the user-defined time intervals during static and dynamic time-history analysis. Comparative studies are conducted for reinforced concrete members being repaired and retrofitted. Analytical predictions including the developed element display reasonable correlation with experimental results. In short, it is concluded that the developed element is capable of providing salient features for the healthy assessment of seismic performance of RC members being repaired and retrofitted.

  • As static traffic assignment has reached its limitation with ITS policy applications and due to the increase of interest in studies of ITS policies since the late 1980's, dynamic traffic assignment has been considered a tool to overcome such limitations. This study used the Dynameq program, which simulates route choice behavior by macroscopic modeling and dynamic network loading and traffic flow by microscopic modeling in consideration of the feasibility of the analysis of practical traffic policy. The essence of this study is to evaluate the feasibility for analysis in practical transportation policy of using the dynamic traffic assignment technique. The study involves the verification of the values estimated from the dynamic traffic assignment with South Korea's expressway network and dynamic O/D data by comparing results with observed link traffic volumes. This study used dynamic O/D data between each toll booth, which can be accurately obtained from the highway Toll Collection System. Then, as an example of its application, exclusive bus-lane policies were analyzed with the dynamic traffic assignment model while considering hourly variations.

  • Throughput and latency of interconnection network are important factors of the performance of multiprocessor systems. The dual-link CC-NUMA architecture using point-to-point unidirectional link is one of the popular structures in high-end commercial systems. In terms of optimal path between nodes, several paths exist with the optimal hop count by its native multi-path structure. Furthermore, transaction latency between nodes is affected by congestion of links on the transaction path. Hence the transaction latency may get worse if the transactions make a hot spot on some links. In this paper, I propose a dynamic transaction routing algorithm that maintains the balanced link utilization with the optimal path length, and I compare the performance with the fixed path method on the dual-link CC-NUMA systems. By the proposed method, the link competition is alleviated by the real-time path selection, and consequently, dynamic transaction algorithm shows a better performance. The program-driven simulation results show $1{\~}10\%$ improved fluctuation of link utilization, $1{\~}3\%$ enhanced acquirement of link, and $1{\~}6\%$ improved system performance.

The Effect of a Virtual Reality-based Exercise Program Using a Video Game on the Muscle Strength, Balance and Gait Abilities in the Elderly (비디오 게임을 이용한 가상현실 운동 프로그램이 노인의 근력, 균형 및 보행에 미치는 영향)

  • Age related decrease of muscle strength, balance, and gait abilities bring about physical inactivity in the elderly. Virtual reality (VR) training has been used successfully to rehabilitate functional balance and mobility in elderly subjects. This study was aimed at determining the effect of VR-based exercise programs by using a video game on the muscle strength, balance, and gait abilities in the elderly. 48 old people were randomly divided into two groups; VR-group (men: 11, women: 14, age: 68.42yrs) and control group (men: 10, women: 13, age: 67.58yrs). VR-group performed an exercise program twice a week for 8 weeks and control group had no intervention. The VR-based exercise program was composed of warm up(10 mins), VR-program(40 mins), and cool down(10mins). It was performed by playstation eyetoy play that provided visual and auditory feedback as well as movements of the upper and lower extremities. Muscle strengths of the knee and ankle were measured using manual muscle tester. Static balance was estimated using computerized posturography. Dynamic balance was measured by Timed up and go test (TUG), Functional reach test (FRT). 10m walk test and 6-min walk test were used to assess gait abilities. After the completion of the VR-exercise program, muscle strength, balance, and gait abilities were improved significantly (p<0.05). In conclusion, the VR-based exercise program showed improvement on the muscle strength, balance, and gait ability in the elderly. This exercise program is both effective and interesting for this age group.

  • 성능에 기초한 내진설계에서는 구조물이 보유하고 있는 능력을 효과적으로 파악하기 위해서 비선형 정적 해석이 적용되고 있다. 그러나 비선형 정적해석은 고차모드에 대한 효과를 고려하지 못함으로써 고층구조물이나 비정형 구조물과 같은 경우에는 정확한 비선형 지진응답의 산정과 내진성능을 평가하는데 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 건축구조물의 선형 및 비선형 지진응답 평가를 위하여 응답 스펙트럼해석을 통하여 얻어지는 층전단력으로부터 층하중을 산정하는 유사동적해석법이 적용되었다. 제안된 방법을 비선형 정적 해석에 적용하여 구조물의 비선형 자동응답을 비선형 시간이력해석의 결과와 비교하였다. 기존의 층분포하중에 의한 비선형 지진응답과 비교하였으며, 제안된 방법에 의한 지진 응답이 구조물의 비선형 거동특성을 가장 정확하게 표현하였다. 그러므로 본 연구에서 제안된 방법을 사용하여 비선형 정적 해석을 수행한다면 비교적 명확한 건축물의 비선형 거동특성과 내진성능을 평가할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
