Design and Implementation of an Agent-Based Guidance System for Mask Dances (에이전트에 기반한 탈놀이 안내 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we design and implement an agent-based mask dance guidance system which provides multimedia information on traditional masques through WWW. When the server receives a query from the client, it produces the multimedia data by connecting several real full-motion videos, and synthesizing adequate voice data for guiding announcement. To develop an agent-based guidance system, we designed and implemented four agents such as interface agent, user modeling agent coordinator agent and data management agent. The mask dance guidance system also provides the functions of searching using the keyword and learning.

  • 최근 사이버대학들은 치열한 입시경쟁을 겪고 있다. 이에 학교들은 교육질 개선을 위하여 다양한 노력을 하고 있다. S 사이버대학의 경우 최초로 전과목별로 실시간 채팅서비스를 제공하여 동영상 강의와 게시판의 한계를 극복하고자 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러닝 교육의 학습효과를 종속변수로 설정하고, 학습내용, 교수설계요인과 채팅서비스를 독립변수로 투입하여, 다중회귀분석을 기법을 통해 분석하였다. 분석결과 학습내용, 교수설계요인, 채팅서비스 모두는 학습효과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 전교과목에 적용한 채팅서비스는 온라인 교육 효과를 높일 수 있는 방안임을 확인하였고, 효과적인 채팅 서비스의 활용방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, an implementation example of Java based MPEG-4 system that follows MPEG-4 standard protocols in order to provide multimedia-messaging service is introduced. The multimedia-messaging service is a wireless LAN based wired and wireless service that delivers multimedia contents including video and audio information. Detailed Methods to develop a MPEG-4 system like technology of MPEG-4 system implementation, definition for wired and wireless multimedia service, DMIF implementation, and mp4 file Parsing are described.

A Survey Study of IT Vocational Education Contents Development in Ubiquitous Learing for Persons with Hearing Impairments (u-Learning 기반 IT 직업교육과정 개발을 위한 청각장애인의 욕구조사)

  • The purpose of this study is to research the actual condition of on-line and off-line computer education in order to create more opportunities for the possibility of effective learning and u-Learning - based IT vocational education development of persons with hearing impairments. To carry out this study, we had a preliminary education of this study for a sign language interpreters who had working in a association of the deaf in Daegu, and had conducted a survey study participating for 100 persons with hearing impairments living in Daegu-Kyungbook Region. The results of this study were as follows: First, during on-line and offline education environment for persons with hearing impairments, factors such as teaching methods and contents, screen organization, learning effects, offering lecture material and subtitle, subtitle and sign language video of position and size, offering computer instructor who have a sign language interpreter with IT mentoring, on-line educational user environment setting must be considered factors for u-Learning - based IT vocational education development. Second, 74% of the subjects showed their interest in taking a course, after u-Learning contents are developed for persons with hearing impairments. Third, the subjects preferred IT device was a tablet PCs and IT certification related courses as their IT vocational education curriculum. Also, to link between professional training and job opportunity, subjects will need a IT vocational education courses such as computer intermediate and advanced levels.

  • 저 대역 망에서 동영상을 실시간으로 전송하기 위해서는 높은 압축률을 요구한다. 따라서 복원된 이미지는 화질 저하라는 현상을 낳게 되는데 본 논문에서는 복원 이미지의 화질 보상에 대한 방법으로 디코더에서 블록 아티팩을 제거하고 복원 이미지를 선명하게 하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 여기서 화질 보상은 원본 이미지와 동일하게 만드는 것이 아니라 인간이 더 좋은 영상으로 인식하도록 하는 걸 목적으로 한다.

  • In this paper, the DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform) based watermarking method for authentication and detection of image modification was proposed. The proposed algorithm inserts watermark into high frequency domain after 1-level wavelet transform by exchanging wavelet coefficients and embeds the characteristic values of high frequency domain of original image into the LSB part of watermarked image. Therefore, By extracting LSB values and watermark in the high frequency domain from the watermarked image, we can authenticate the image and detect modified positions.

Effectiveness of Online Learning Tools in College Education: Experiments in Physical Geography (자연지리 강좌를 대상으로 한 온라인 러닝의 효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of learning management systems (LMS) in the physical geography class. The study adopted the experimental design and three classes participated in this study. The first class was controlled using only classroom lectures, the second class used PPT slides along with the classroom lectures, and the third class used online video clips along with the lectures. The experiments were conducted from the Spring Semester 2007 to the Spring Semester 2008 for the introductory physical geography course. The study results showed that online learning tools help students improve academic performance and their attitudes towards the class and the instructor. Compared to simple PowerPoint slides, voice recording attached to the visual lecture slide materials enhanced students' motivation. Class lectures with lecture slides did not improve students' scores. However, when the visual materials were combined with voice recording, the number of internet access to online class materials increased, and class attendance and students' final grades were improved. Based on the results, the instructional design model that combines classroom and online learning was suggested.

Web-based Self-directed Learning System for Multi-contents Service (멀티 콘텐츠 서비스를 위한 웹 기반 자기주도적 학습 시스템)

  • As the subjects of education has been changed from the instructors to learners, a web-based self-directed learning which can accelerate the initiative of learners and can be free from the restriction of time and space has been received attention. In this paper, the web-based self-directed learning system was designed. For the design, to make the learners build their own lecture plan, the service was designed to provide three kinds of lectures of video clip, slide lecture, and e-text lecture that were focused on various lecture contents. In addition, a learner and an assistant was man to man matched to enable the on-line mentoring for mutual communication between learners and assistants. Implementation was carried out by three sets of module - Manager, Learner and Assistant - that were applied to the real educational activities. The survey on satisfaction for the education, efficiency of ability improvement, and educational intelligibility for the attendants on the education showed more than 67.2% of satisfaction in satisfaction for the education. Furthermore, more than 86.9% of attendants replied that their ability were improved after the education of this system. The educational system realized in this paper shows effectiveness for the self-directed learning.

Fluvial Terraces of the Lower Yeongsan River, Southwestern Coastal Region of Korean Peninsula (영산강 하류 지역의 하안단구)

  • The fluvia(thalassostatic) terraces have been developed among the lower Yeongsan river, near the southwestern coastal region of Korean peninsula. These thalassostatic terraces could be classified into 3 surface, i. e., Yeongsan 32m, 18m, and 10m surface, in desending order, according to the relative heights from the river floor. Yeongsan 32m, 18m and 10m surfaces were corresponded to the mMT3, mLT1 and mLT2 surfaces of Choi(2003), respectively. It was revealed that the mLT1 surface was the marine terraces which had been formed in the Last Interglacial culmination period(oxygen isotope stage 5e) in the southeastern coast of Korean peninsula.

  • Flipped learning is generally designed to allow students to learn on their own in advance with the help of scaffolding material such as videos and text, and in the classroom, it is operated with the help of a teacher while the class is being learner-centered. For flipped learning, each of the teachers has to design the class, collect information, and prepare for scaffolding material, so they get to face a lot of difficulties spending much time to reorganize the curriculum and produce a video and so on. Accordingly, this researcher has developed flipped learning textbook models applicable to science class by analyzing Korean and overseas textbooks, conducting an in-depth interview to six science teachers practicing flipped learning, and also developing and applying the science textbook sample model. The elementary, middle, and high school science textbook models developed include not only the textbook-based model with no videos presented in advance but also the lecture-type model, experiment-based model, and inquiry and research-based model to realize flipped learning. This study is expected to present crucial implications to develop textbooks and science class as a class to perform learner-centered inquiry activity.
