Hawthorne's control of the reader represented in his prefaces (호손의 독자 조종: '머리말'을 중심으로)

  • Nathaniel Hawthorne seems to realize the reader's role in bringing his creation of fiction to completion. Almost all of Hawthorne's prefaces may be considered in terms of their contribution to the writer's narrative strategy. When he refers to the audience in the prefatory essay, "The Custom-House" and other prefaces to his major works as "the Reader," Hawthorne is establishing a mutual complicity that will continue throughout the following narratives. According to this rhetorical alliance, the writer's obligation is to get the story into the reader's imagination by any means possible, while the reader's share is to believe the story as much as possible while it is being told. The ultimate issue is thus not whether any event actually happened as Hawthorne reports it but whether readers are willing to grant the event credence while they are reading. Hawthorne's relationship with his audience is not congenial. In his prefaces, Hawthorne sometimes reveals a narrator who evades a fixed identity. The introduction of an unreliable narrator helps illuminate the unresolved, elusive ambiguity in Hawthorne's stories. Hawthorne seeks to make his narrative ambiguous frequently utilizing the very same indeterminacy so often cherished by poststructuralists. No critical term may be more firmly associated with the works of Hawthorne than ambiguity. Looking for new readers with more fresh eyes, Hawthorne's narratives always remain open to reinterpretation. After all, Hawthorne's prefaces (sometimes including unreliable narrators) help him become one of the most frustrating and fascinating novelists.

  • 최근 들어서는 지구환경보호와 에너지자원 고갈의 위기감 속에 에너지절약기기의 니즈가 급속하게 가속화되고 있다. 산업분야에서의 에너지절약기기로서는 고효율모터나 인버터가 사용되고 있는데 아직 이들 기기의 보급률은 낮은 실정이다. 점차 에너지절약기기에 대한 관심이 높아 가는 가운데, 한편 산업용전력 사용량의 약 70$\%$를 모터가 차지하고 있다고 알려지고 있으며 모터 유닛의 손실 삭감으로 큰 에너지절약 효과를 기대할 수 있기 때문에 3상모터의 고효율화 요구와 인버터구동에 의한 에너지절약니즈가 급속히 퍼지고 있다. 3상모터의 에너지절약 니즈에는 위험지구(폭발성 분위기) 안에서 사용되는 용도도 많아 이와 같은 위험장소에서 사용되는 방폭전기기기에서는 1993년의 국제규격(IEC 규격)에 정합(整合)된 신JIS 방폭규격의 발행으로 정전의 일본독자적인 방폭규격은 폐지되고 이 새로운 JIS 방폭규격에의 통합 움직임이 있었다. 미쓰비시전기는 이와 같은 동향에 대응하기 위하여 고성능$\cdot$에너지절약 모터 ''수퍼라인 에코시리즈''로서 고효율 시리즈, 인버터구동 전용토크 시리즈, 신JIS방폭규격대응 안전증(安全增) 방폭형 시리즈를 제품화하였다. 수퍼라인 에코시리즈는 동사 독자의 강판프레임을 사용하여 철저한 저손실 설계의 채택으로 업계 톱클래스의 고효율$\cdot$에너지절약을 실현하였다. 인버터구동에 최적한 특성, 내환경성의 강화와 베어링의 장수명화에 의한 장기(長期) 메인터넌스프리화 및 저소음$\cdot$저진동화를 실현한 고성능모터이다.

  • Aristotle said 'Poet is that from who can give happiness, therapeutic effects to the reader.' He say to 'mimoumenon' it means a native Image restored. However, Kant said that Aesthetic is requested not only reappearance but freedom. This result is that between joyful freedom and reason of the judgement of tasted feeling. Because Art ever created is the spirit of the moral ideals, and those who combine the best of the joy. I think need to more communication and joy than their theories. For poet is replaced to be communicated and joyful for our happiness and freedom.

  • Early photography history of Daegu, Gyeongbuk Province, Gyebok Choi were taken a lots of prizes of famous contest and known to the nationwide in 1930's and then his photos became an example of salon photography. And his documents of Mt. Baekdu & Dokdo in 1940's was the outcome of self-consciousness. Wangsam Koo proposed the realism of the photo. He saw, the base of photos should be reflected the lives of people of the times and the characteristics of the period, and he had great influence to the history of Korea photography with his own unique vision. These photos and theories accomplished a photo aesthetic to Korea photo history in 1940's. Besides it had been the national spirit at Youngnam province in the early 20th century.

  • 수사구조는 텍스트의 각 구성 성분이 맺고 있는 관계를 의미하며, 필자의 의도는 논리적인 구조를 통해서 독자에게 더 잘 전달될 수 있다. 따라서 독자의 인지적 효과를 극대화할 수 있도록 수사구조를 고려하여 단락과 문장 구조를 구성하는 것이 필요하다. 그럼에도 불구하고 지금까지 수사구조에 기초한 한국어 분류체계를 만들거나 주석 코퍼스를 설계하려는 시도가 없었다. 본 연구에서는 기존 수사구조 이론을 기반으로, 한국어 보도문 형식에 적합한 30개 유형의 분류체계를 정제하고 최소 담화 단위별로 태깅한 코퍼스를 구축하였다. 또한 구축한 코퍼스를 토대로 중심문장을 비롯한 문장 구조의 특징과 분포 비율, 신문기사의 장르적 특성 등을 살펴봄으로써 텍스트에서 응집성의 실현 양상과 구문상의 특징을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 한국어 담화 구문에 적합한 수사구조 분류체계를 설계하고 이를 이용한 주석 코퍼스를 최초로 구축하였다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.

A Success Prediction Model for Debut Webtoon Based on Reader reaction Using Deep Learning and Machine Learning (딥러닝과 머신러닝을 활용한 독자 반응 기반 웹툰 데뷔작 성공 예측 모델)

  • 본 논문에서는 매년 성장하는 웹툰 시장 속에서 신인 작가들이 성공할 수 있는 성공 요인을 밝히고자 하였다. 국내 1위 웹툰 플랫폼인 네이버 웹툰 중 데뷔작을 기준으로 완결 웹툰 212개, 연재 중인 웹툰 112개, 총 324개의 웹툰을 수집하여 연구를 진행하였다. 기존 선행연구와의 차별화를 두기 위해 독자의 직접적인 반응 중 하나인 댓글을 성공 요인에 포함하였다. 댓글에 담긴 긍정, 부정을 나타내는 주관을 탐지하기 위해 딥러닝을 이용하여 감성 분석을 실시하였다. 각 웹툰에 대한 댓글 반응을 포함하여 평균, '좋아요' 수, 장르 그리고 첫 화 댓글 수와 5화까지 평균 댓글 수를 흥행에 영향을 미치는 독립변수로 사용했다. 댓글 반응이 중요 요인인지를 확인하기 위해 각 모델 생성 시 댓글 반응을 포함한 모델과 포함하지 않은 모델을 생성하여 성능 평가를 실시하였다. 로지스틱 회귀분석, 아다 부스트, 그리고 서포트 벡터 머신 모델을 정확도와 ROC 그래프를 이용해 효율성을 비교하고, 이를 통해 댓글 반응을 활용한 로지스틱 회귀 모델이 가장 적합하다고 판단하였다. 모델 생성 결과 '좋아요' 수, 1화 댓글 수, 댓글 반응 순으로 성공 요인에 많은 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 오늘날 인터넷의 발달과 전자 책(e-Book) 시장규모가 커짐에 따라 온라인을 통한 도서 정보 제공이 증가하고 있다. 하지만 현재 도서 정보나 도서 추천을 제공하는 온라인 사이트들은 기본 서지 정보만을 위주로 제공하고 있어 도서 본문을 활용한 정보 제공 및 추천 시스템의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 도서 본문을 활용한 정보 제공 및 개인 맞춤형 추천을 위해 '도서 정보 본문텍스트 통합 마이닝 기반 사용자 참여형 시각화 및 추천 큐레이션 플랫폼'을 제안하고, 이를 구축하였다. 제안한 서비스 플랫폼은 독자에게 다양한 방법으로 도서 정보를 제공하며, 독자는 적은 시간으로 많은 정보를 얻을 수 있도록 하여 사용자의 도서 선택의 폭을 넓혀줄 것이다.

A Study on the Basis and Formation Process of Kimchi's Uniqueness (김치 독자성의 근거와 형성 과정에 대한 고찰)

  • The Chinese Sigyeong records the foods of the Primitive Pickling Period, pickling being a universal vegetable storage method, but does not indicate the origin of the pickled vegetables or the location of the source of transmission. Kimchi mainly used salt and sauce-based soaking materials at the beginning of the Fermented Pickling Period (beginning in the 1st to 3rd centuries A.D.), and it differed from the Chinese method, which used alcohol and vinegar. In the Umami-Flavored Pickling Period (beginning in the 14th and 15th centuries A.D.), jeotgal, fermented seafoods, were added, and pickles with a completely new identity were created, one different from any other pickles in the world. Lastly, entering the Complex Fermentation and Pickling Period (beginning in the 17th and 18th centuries), the technical process evolved using a separate special seasoning containing red pepper as the secondary immersion source after pickling in brine, the primary immersion source. As a result of this, kimchi was transformed into a food with a unique form and taste not found anywhere else. The unique characteristic of kimchi is that the composition of original materials, a combination of salted marine life and vegetable ingredients, is its core identity, and there is a methodological difference in that it is completed through a second process called saesaengchae (生菜)-chimchae (沈菜).

Characteristics and Meanings of the Hwanghae-do Gutchum (황해도굿춤의 특성과 의미)

  • The purpose of this article is to understand the characteristics and meanings of the Hwanghae-do Gutchum, or shamanic ritual dance. First, the characteristics of the Hwanghae-do Gutchum are summarized as follows. The regular dances that appear in all pieces of Gutgeori or the tune of Gut of the Hwanghae-do Gutchum feature Geosangchum, followed by domu and heojeonmu in the sequential order. The accompaniment rhythms are Geosang rhythm, Chum rhythm, and Yeonpung rhythm. The dance featuring mugu, or shaman implements held on shaman's hand as part of the Hwanghae-do Gutchum, which symbolizes the characteristics of deities, is the same as domu aligned with the dance rhythm and the whirling dance aligned with the Yeonpung rhythm. The name of mugu, mubok (shaman clothing) and/or deities may be used as the name of Gutchum but there is no originality of Gutchum. The Beokgu Chum and Samhyeon Chum as part of the Hwanghae-do Gutchum use Beockgu Jangdan and Samhyeon Jangdan, which deserves to have their originality acknowledged. Hwanghae-do Gutchum is closely related to the rhythm. The harmony of janggu player and a female shaman is essential in practicing the Hwanghae-do Gut. If a janggu player fails to perform to properly support the gut practice of a female shaman, the shaman is not able to proceed with a smooth practice and causes confusion. On the other hand, if the gut performance of a female shaman fails to catch up with the performance of janggu, the gut becomes plain and simple at best. Janggu is the single most important element that determines the success or failure of the Hwanghae-do Gutchum. A female shaman takes the harmony and collaboration with a janggu player so seriously that she is willing to reschedule the practice of gut if its schedule does not match that of the janggu player. The Hwanghae-do Gutchum is largely dependent on gyeolrye. However, the difference between the chum and the rhythm caused by gyeolrye has disappeared due to the intangible cultural assets. That is, designating an intangible cultural asset has resulted in eliminating all distinctive characteristics of Hwanghae-do Gutchum. With the distinction of gyeolrye becoming vague, they have lost interest in the genealogy of gut they have learned. It is no longer gyeolrye but the intangible cultural property system that serves as an important factor to distinguish chums.

A Comparative Study Concerning the Idea of 'Conscience' in Daesoon Thought and Heidegger: Focusing on the Tendency of 'Conscience' to Return to Itself (대순사상과 하이데거의 '양심' 개념에 대한 비교연구 - 근원을 향한 '양심'의 회귀적 특성에 대한 논의를 중심으로 -)

  • In this research, I define 'conscience' in Daesoon thought as the 'Restorative capability of returning to one's roots.' The notion of conscience forms a structure of separation and return, and it is connected to the ascetic aim of realizing human perfection. The conscience opens up potential possibilities and leads realization of potential possibilities by returning to the the point of origin. In the middle of separation and return, the conscience acts as the power of subjectivity possessed by human beings which is known as 'In jon (Human Nobility)' in Daesoon thought. The concept of conscience in Daesoon thought is connected with the subjectivity of In jon and free will as well as the character of subjectivity. This shares commonalities with critical thinking, modern characteristics, and the subjectivity of Heidegger's existentialism. Heidegger describes human fate from an existentialist vantage point using terms such as dasein, Geworfenheit, and Entwurf, and establishes human existence as an act of self-recovery from within in a lonely existential establishment. Daesoon thought implies that humanity is the root of ultimate reality, and this description is in sharp contrast with the thrownness (Geworfenheit) of Heidegger's subjectivity. Therefore, Daesoon thought can be seen as unique in its characterization of humanity as being connected to the root of ultimate reality, autonomy, and independent existence.
