A Study on Planning for Leased-line Bandwidth based-on web Traffic (Web 트래픽 기반의 전용 회선 대여곡 결정에 관한 연구)

  • 이 논문에서는 Web 사이트를 설계할 때 응답시간과 관련해서 고려되어야 할 요수 중[10,15,16], 인터넷 연결 회선의 대역폭 결정에 참조될 수 있는 자료를 제시한다. 이를 위해 다양한 환경에서 Web 세션 도착율에 따른 응답시간과 회선 이용율의 변화를 관찰하고, 이를 통해 특정 대역폭의 회선에 대해 Web 서비스가 한계 응답시간 내에 보장될 수 있는 Web 세션 도착율의 임계치를 구한다. [15,16]. 이 논문에서는 데이터 수집을 위해 실험 네트워크를 구성하고, 자체적으로 구현한 패킷 생성기를 이용하여 세션 도착율의 변화에 따른 Web 트래픽을 시뮬레이션한다. 응답시간은 패킷 생성기가 생성한 각각의 HTTP(Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol)요청 패킷이 전송되는 시점부터 HTTP응답 메시지가 도착하는 시점까지의 경과된 시간으로 구하고, 회선 이용율은 SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol)를 이용해 자체 구현한 데이터 수집기로 구한다[3]. 이 실험의 결과는, Web 사이트를 설계할 때 네트워크 전문가가 아니더라도 인터넷 연결 회선의 대역폭 결정 문제를 해결하는데 쉽고 유용하게 참조될 수 있다.

Analysis of an M/G/1/K Queueing System with Queue-Length Dependent Service and Arrival Rates (시스템 내 고객 수에 따라 서비스율과 도착율을 조절하는 M/G/1/K 대기행렬의 분석)

  • We analyze an M/G/1/K queueing system with queue-length dependent service and arrival rates. There are a single server and a buffer with finite capacity K including a customer in service. The customers are served by a first-come-first-service basis. We put two thresholds $L_1$ and $L_2$($${\geq_-}L_1$$ ) on the buffer. If the queue length at the service initiation epoch is less than the threshold $L_1$, the service time of customers follows $S_1$ with a mean of ${\mu}_1$ and the arrival of customers follows a Poisson process with a rate of ${\lambda}_1$. When the queue length at the service initiation epoch is equal to or greater than $L_1$ and less than $L_2$, the service time is changed to $S_2$ with a mean of $${\mu}_2{\geq_-}{\mu}_1$$. The arrival rate is still ${\lambda}_1$. Finally, if the queue length at the service initiation epoch is greater than $L_2$, the arrival rate of customers are also changed to a value of $${\lambda}_2({\leq_-}{\lambda}_1)$$ and the mean of the service times is ${\mu}_2$. By using the embedded Markov chain method, we derive queue length distribution at departure epochs. We also obtain the queue length distribution at an arbitrary time by the supplementary variable method. Finally, performance measures such as loss probability and mean waiting time are presented.

  • In a multi-hop wireless ad hoc network broadcasting is an elementary operation to support route discovery, address resolution and other application tasks. Broadcasting by flooding may cause serious redundancy, contention, and collision in the network which is referred to as the broadcast storm problem. Many broadcasting schemes have been proposed to give better performance than simple flooding in wireless ad hoc network. How to decide whether re-broadcast or not also poses a dilemma between reachability and efficiency under different host densities. In this paper, we propose enhanced broadcasting schemes, which can reduce re-broadcast packets without loss of reachability. Simulation results show that proposed schemes can offer better reachability as well as efficiency as compared to other previous schemes.

  • In this paper, we proposed the fuzzy control algorithm for efficient buffer control about traffic that is connected in ATM networks. The proposed Fuzzy control algorithm has total traffic arrival ratio, buffer occupancy ratio and Fuzzy set to search for dynamic service rates in server. That is, is based on Fuzzy logic according to the arrival ratio of total traffic and buffer occupancy ratio that is happened and reasoning. Then, made reasoning result control service rates in server about traffic that is connected with defuzzification value. Performance analysis result: it was confirmed that with the proposed scheme, performance improves at cell loss rate, when compared with the existing PBS scheme.

  • In this thesis, we created a Fuzzy rule in a Fuzzy logic that are fuzzy logic which is composed of linguistic rules and Fuzzy inference engine for effective traffic control in ATM networks. The parameters of the Fuzzy rules are adapted to minimize the given performance index in both cases. In other words, the difuzzification value controls the service rate in the server to total traffic arrival ratio and buffer occupancy ratio using fuzzy set theory for traffic connected after reasoning. Also, show experiment result about rule by MATLAB6.5 and on-line bulid-up to verify validity of created Fuzzy rule. As a result, we can verify that service ratio in server is efficiently controlled by the total traffic arrival ratio and buffer occupancy ratio.

  • This paper introduces an adaptive time-based location update scheme that dynamically determines when to perform location update based on moving distance of mobile station and incoming call arrival probability using fuzzy logic. Comparison with other schemes demonstrate that proposed scheme adapts well to the environment where the characteristics of mobility pattern of mobile station is changed all the time, and reveals better performance in the aspect of network signaling load.

  • 본 논문에서는 스위치의 운용 알고리즘에 따라 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 이용하여 입/출력 버퍼의 셀 손실율을 측정하였다. 그 결과 셀 손실에 영향을 주는 요소로서, 셀 도착 간격 시간(k(a))과 SPEEDUP FACTOR(SF) en 가지 요소에 따라 셀손실을 평가할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셀 도착 간격 시간 혹은 주기성은 비트가 셀로 모이는데 걸리는 시간을 의미하며 스위치 속도 SF는 임의의 한 슬롯내에서 한 입력단에서 출력단으로 서비스 가능한 셀의 수를 나타내고 있다. 시뮬레이션의 결과에서 보면 입력 버퍼에서는 주지성에 따라, 출력 버퍼에서는 SF의 크기에 따라 셀손실율이 커진다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 보다 정확한 고속 스위칭 향상을 위해서는 입/출력 버퍼의 크기 결정이 중요하다. 본 논문의 시뮬레이션 결과에서는 입력 버퍼가 100x셀 일 때 출력 버퍼가 40x셀 정도의 크기가 적합하다는 것을 얻어내었다. 물론 입/출력 버퍼를 크게 한다면 셀 손실이 작아지지만, 하드웨어를 구성하는데 문제점이 발생될 것이기 때문이다. 그리고 본 논문 결과치중 셀 도착 분포 상황은 변동계수 모델링 성정에 따라 SF가 처리하는 서비스의 셀 도착 분포에 의 \ulcorner달라지지만, 변동계수가 전혀 없는 이상적인 경우(CV=1)를 제외한 경우의 SF값을 만족한다고 하겠다. 끝으로 입/출력 버퍼를 가진 스위치 구조는 단지 출력 버퍼를 갖는 스위치 보다 지연이 크지만, VLSI의 발달로 셀의 처리 속도가 증가하므로 더 많은 장점을 갖게 될 것이다.

A study on location planning of the on-street loading/unloading bays in the central business district (도심상업지역의 노상 하역공간 최적배치계획에 대한 연구)

  • Loading zone is necessary to central business district(CBD) due to freight trucks coming into inner city. Currently truck drivers in metropolitan area are forced to illegally park their freight trucks on the roads close to the business facilities because there is no or few loading zones available in the CBD. This situation would bring into traffic congestion and even might block local roads in the CBD. This study reviews the existing improvement plans in city logistics, and examines delivery characteristics related to freight trucks and drivers in Seomyeon, the central downtown of Busan. Also it conducts a location planning for on-street loading/unloading bay using a technical method for arranging loading space. This research estimated the number of parking and stop bays for truck's operation using queueing theory based on truck-service rate and arrival rate, and found locations with the minimum resistance function values for freight movement in arranging on-street loading/unloading bays.

  • This paper analyzes transmissiondelays of a message and a packet in a time-varying and packet-based radio link. The paper assumes that thearrivals of messages have a Bernoulli process and the lengths of the messages a exponential distribution. To reflect the feature of the time-varying radio link, we use a two-state Markov model. From the model the mean transmission delay of and the mean queue length of the packet are analyzed in terms of the packet distribution function, the packet transmission service time, and the PER of the radio link. And the mean message transmission delay time and the mean queue length are derived using the performance indices of the packet. Numerical results show that the message arrival rate and the message length have some bounds to keep the transmission of the message steady and to improve the performance indices of the message. It can be known that the PER of the state influences on the performance indices more than the sojourn time of the state.

  • In this paper, we propose the modeling of a wireless communication system using CSMA protocol, present analytical evalution and simulation as a function of arrival rate and mean END-to-END delay in the distributed packet radio network. Asynchronous 1-persistent CSMA protocol is used in wireless communication system with half duplex. We assume that all terminals are to be in the close range of each other, suitably located in the local area. The traffic presented to a common channel is assumed to be poisson distribution. Analytical model is based on a M/D/1 with breakdown. In conclusion for wireless network model proposed in this paper is suitable for packet arrival rate of 2 packet/sec with mean packet delay time less than 2 times the packet transmission time.
