  • 대학도서관 웹사이트는 도서관의 이용을 원활하게 하고 정보자료에의 접근을 용이하게 하기 위해서 구성된다. 따라서, 웹사이트를 통해 도서관 서비스에 대한 안내, 이용자의 편의를 위한 온라인 참고봉사 서비스, 과거 수동적인 자세가 아닌 능동적인 정보제공서비스 뿐만 아니라 다양한 이용자의 사용행태를 파악하여 이를 통해서 서비스의 질을 높이고, 이용자의 요구사항을 파악하여 도서관 서비스를 개선해나가는 것이 중요한 화두가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 충남대학교 도서관 웹사이트를 대상으로 설문조사(Questionnaire)와 발견적 평가(Heuristic Evaluation)를 통해서 대학도서관 웹사이트의 사용성에 있어서의 문제점을 발견하고 개선점을 제시한다.

A Study on Faceted Navigation of the Public Libraries (공공도서관의 패싯 내비게이션에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to construct faceted navigation useful for domestic users through analyzing English and North American public libraries' faceted navigations. The 19 domestic libraries and the 12 foreign libraries has been chosen for analyzing their unique facets. Although the domestic libraries' facets had no differences to the domestic universities' facets, the North American libraries have their unique facets. Those facets are target audience, genre, library list, user tags, and availability related facets and the facets are mainly to improve user's usability in using library catalog. Adopting the facets in domestic public libraries by using Fixed-Length data elements of KORMARC, domestic public libraries will enhance usability of library users in retrieving library materials.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 도서관 이용자들의 일상생활에서 공간들이 어떠한 관계성을 가지고 이용되는지를 분석하는 것이다. 관계성을 파악하기 위한 데이터로 미국 Puget Sound Region Transportation Department에서 수집한 Household Travel Survey 데이터를 이용하였다. 데이터 분석을 위한 도구로 소셜 네트워크 분석도구 중의 하나인 NodeXL을 사용하였다. 분석결과 선행연구에서와 유사하게 슈퍼마켓, 레스토랑, 쇼핑몰 등이 도서관 이용과 공간적으로 연관성이 있음이 나타났다. 또한 전체 이용자의 분석결과와 비교하여 도서관 이용자만이 가지고 사회적 공간이용의 특성을 발견되었고 도서관 정책개발에 이러한 특성이 반영될 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.

  • This study implements library toolbar in order to improve the accessibility of OPAC in the library. The toolbar elements are extracted on the basis of the importance of functionality for OPAC. After comparing the toolbar implementation approaches, this study develops the library toolbar with these elements as the client-based application that can fully realized the functionality of the toolbar. The librarians evaluate the usability of toolbar very affirmatively. This study also summarizes the further functionalities to upgrade toolbar proposed by the librarian. Through deploying the upgraded toolbar, the user requirements have to be analyzed and realized with the user survey.

The study on User Requirements for Virtual Reality (VR) Content Services in Library Using the Technology Acceptance Model (기술수용모델을 활용한 도서관 가상현실(VR) 콘텐츠 서비스 이용자 요구에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to identify the current usage patterns of VR content among users and their demands for VR content services in libraries. An online survey was conducted, receiving responses from 229 individuals with experience using VR content. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) analysis revealed a good model fit, indicating that users' perceptions of the usefulness and ease of use of VR content are significantly related to their satisfaction and intention to reuse VR content. These findings suggest that to enhance satisfaction with VR content services in libraries, it is essential to improve user convenience and create an immersive environment. Additionally, respondents indicated that VR content services could increase library user satisfaction and the intention to revisit the library. The most preferred VR content themes were games (action, strategy, etc.), travel, and space/ocean, in that order. While the overall feedback on providing VR content services in libraries was positive and filled with anticipation, some respondents expressed concerns about the potential lack of utility and the possibility of poor equipment management.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the user satisfaction, royalty and compliant of a children's library Website. To achieve the aim of this study a modified Kim and Park's model of the user satisfaction index which consists of information quality, service quality, and system quality dimension is adopted. A total of 130 valid responses to the questionnaire were analysed using SPSS 18. It is found that the higher the user satisfaction gives the higher the royalty and the lower the compliant. For the contents quality dimension, the items of Usability, Accuracy, Easy of understand, Reliability and Up-to-date; for the service quality dimension, the items of Interface design, Reliability, Responsiveness, and Empathy; for the system quality dimension, the items of Response time, Interactive, Easy to access, and Easy to use show a significant relationships to the users' satisfaction.

The Need for Information Literacy Instruction for Public Library Internet Service Users (공공도서관의 인터넷서비스 이용자를 위한 정보이용능력 지도의 필요성에 관한 연구)

  • This research is a study designed to identify the needs for information literacy instruction for the U.S. public library Internet service users. The levels and needs of Internet service users as well as the development and effectiveness of the Internet services at the U.S. public libraries were investigated. The survey was administered to the Internet service users at four public libraries in the upper Midwest region of the U.S.A total of 386 surveys were collected and analyzed. The result showed that as the years of Internet use experience and the level of expertise increases, user satisfaction decreases. However, the users who had taken any Internet class showed more satisfaction than who had not. This research offers a new direction and need for information literacy instruction for public library Internet service users.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the user's perception and usability of the unmanned smart library and to derive the improvements. After reviewing the literature on smart technology and smart equipment, we surveyed users who use unmanned smart library installed in Sejong City and Pohang City, and questioned the use, operation and service satisfaction of unmanned smart library. Based on the results of the analysis, we suggested ways to improve the unmanned smart library and draw users to the library. Unattended smart library users varied in age and educational background, and they were most interested in borrowing books and were satisfied with their overall use.

  • This study aims to evaluate the usability for improving quality of Hoseo university digital library website. Compatibility of web browser and loading speed are analyzed in using Doctor HTML and Web Site Garage, and seven major attributes of website. that is navigation, functionality, user control language and contents. system and user feedback, consistency, architectural and visual clarify, are analyzed and evaluated in using online questionnaire method. Finally this paper was suggested some problems and improvements of that website mentioned above, and general guidelines of website construction based on usability in university digital library in korea.

A Study on User Satisfaction with Public Library Websites (공공도서관 웹사이트 이용자 만족도 연구)

  • 공공도서관 웹사이트의 이용자 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 설문조사를 통해 실질적으로 조사하였고, 이용자와의 면담을 통해 만족스러운 점과 불만족스러운 점을 조사하였다. 이를 위해 서울시의 15개의 공공도서관의 294명 이용자를 대상으로 설문조사와 면담조사를 실시하였다. 공공도서관 웹사이트의 이용자 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 시스템 품질과 정보 품질, 서비스 품질로 크게 나누고, 각각의 세부요인을 들었다. 연구 결과, 이용자 만족에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 정보의 범위였고, 두 번째는 정보 표현의 심미성, 세 번째는 서비스의 응답성이었다. 네 번째는 시스템 품질의 사용용이성, 다섯 번째는 상호작용성이고, 여섯 번째는 정보의 정확성이었다. 접속은 이용자 만족에 영향을 미치는 요인에서 제외되었다.
