At the time of operating and studying the subject special librarians of university libraries, an aim of this study is to seek the ways for the users to be aware and make the best use of them, and to receive the necessary assistance from them. To achieve this, I examined carefully the operation and management states, and surveyed and analyzed the actual users' awareness of these operations. Furthermore, I investigated the way to improve the required qualifications to be subject-special librarians and the users' awareness of them. Therefore, I finally examined the way how they reconsidered the actual users in the university libraries.

This study examined whether there is any difference in the public library patrons' library uses depending on their participation in the educational and cultural programs of such libraries. Additional analysis was conducted to determine if the particular educational and cultural program participants' showed any consistent library use patterns. The statistical analysis of such program offerings and the patron survey data resulted in the findings such as that there were statistically significant differences in how the patrons' used the libraries, the number of library resources borrowed, and the frequency of library websites and/or mobile applications used based on their participation in the educational and cultural programs and also the types of programs that they attended.

This study was conducted to explore pending issues as an obstacle factor in the library growth and progress through measurement of Korean and Chinese College undergraduates' perception on the library, and suggest its countermeasure to that the study result showed that their perception to the library's social and cultural function was low, so the library's cultural events need to be consolidated to enhance perception, and the Korean student's study zeal was lower than Chinese, and amny students did not go to the library, but an incentive is needed to escalate the strength of course study or the library availability. Also a countermeasure should be established such as a class link project through continuing specialized librarians' training strengthened, users' group education for the satisfaction enhancement and validity of the information service users.

Export system using artificial intelligence give the technology for the varied library user instruction. Expert system showing problem solving process give educational effectives. In this paper, expert system are reviewed to discuss the application possibility in education and the model of intelligent tutoring system(ITS) applying artificial intelligence is presented.

도서관을 찾는 사람은 늘고 있으나, 읽는 책은 베스트셀러에 한정됐다. <출판저널>이 '독서의 달'을 맞아 전국 도서관 사서들을 대상으로 도서관 이용자의 독서경향에 대해 설문조사한 결과, 교육환경의 개선과 IMF여파로 이용자 수는 증가했으나, 도서구입예산과 독서 프로그램 부족으로 도서관에서 이뤄지는 독서는 문학 등 특정 분야에 편중되고 있다는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 학생들의 대출 건수는 꾸준히 늘어 강화군립도서관만 하더라도 전체 대출의 55%가 학생이다. 다른 도서관도 사정은 같아 학생들이 하교하는 오후 시간대에 가장 이용률이 높다. 최근에는 실직인구가 늘면서 성인 남자의 이용률도 높아졌다. 오미순 사서(해운대도서관)는 "IMF 여파로 취업.창업 관련서의 이용률이 늘고 있으며 그 이용자 대부분은 성인"이라고 밝혔고 성은정 사서(부여도서관) 역시 "IMF사태 이후, 성인 남자들의 이용률이 높다"고 응답했다. 하지만 문제는 도서관이 보유한 책이 베스트셀러에 국한돼 다양한 독서가 이뤄지지 않는다는 점. 조사결과, 이용자들은 <아리랑>, <하늘이여 땅이여>, <남자의 향기>, <토지> 등을 많이 찾는 것으로 집계됐다. 심지어는 로맨스소설이나 무협소설이 청소년들의 읽을거리로 제공되는 실정. 사정은 특수도서관도 마찬가지다. 어린이도서관의 경우, 어린이.성인 모두 문학류를 많이 찾고 점자도서관의 경우, 전체대출 중 80%가 소설류다. 구본일 사서(강화도서관)는 "예산이 부족해 이용자들이 많이 찾는 베스트셀러를 중심으로 구입할 수밖에 없다"고 밝히고 "다양한 책을 갖출 수 있도록 도서구입비 확충이 시급하다"고 주장했다. 또 알맞은 독서 프로그램이 없는 점도 이용자들의 베스트셀러 편중현상에 한몫을 담당했다. 진재호 사서(광주도서관)는 "과거보다 독서생활화가 고조됐지만, 양서를 읽는 독서문화의 부족"을, 김선연 사서(어린이도서관)는 "유아시절부터 성인까지 자연스레 고전을 읽게 하는 제도적 장치의 확충"을 지적했다. 한편 월평균 대출권수는 대도시 지역의 경우 11,000-45,000권, 그 외 지역은 1,600-6,000권, 특수도서관은 어린이도서관이 55,000권, 전화나 우편으로 대출하는 점자도서관이 650권이다. 관내열람만 허용되는 사회과학도서관은 월평균 이용자가 7,676명으로 대학생.대학원생.교수 등이 전체의 68%를 차지한다.

This research is aimed at contributing to the education related to library space planning by carrying out a questionnaire survey on the recognition of libraries related to the education related to library space planning and supporting libraries in charge of library space planning through the result analysis. The following is a report on the direction and improvement of education based on a survey on the impact on subjects related to library space planning. First of all, education on library space planning should be centered on practical work of space planning. Second, the participation of librarians in the planning process of library space must be considered important for smooth communication with users and experts. Third, it is expected to be necessary to plan education methods and curriculums related to the planning of library space according to the size and budget of the library. Fourth, active public relations regarding library space planning education is necessary. The active promotion of library space education will emphasize the participation and necessity of librarians in space practice, and further contribute to the operation of libraries and the provision of library services to users.

Recently there have been an increase in number of new library buildings and its users due to the demand of lifelong learning and cultural experiences of the local community and also the extension to their opening hours. At the same time there have been a growing number of problem users in local libraries. This seems closely associated with an increase in number of unemployment rates and their mental health issue. This causes a great challenge to the local libraries. in particular, to the front-line librarians. If these challenges are not dealt appropriately at all levels within the library organization the overall quality of services is likely to degrade leaving the general users dissatisfied and the staff adversely affected. Therefore in this study we propose a charter of library service and a library code of conduct to meet the aforementioned challenges and enhance the overall quality of library services.

Recently, countries have recognized the significant to instruct the information literacy to library users so that they can positively and actively use the information. However, among the courses of library and information science in the colleges of South Korea which educate the potential librarians, few courses have the objectives to make the students obtain the abilities to teach the information literacy in the future. Since this lack of appropriate educations is reflected on the fields of library, the librarians have many difficulties in preparing for and performing user instructions. As an alternative solution for this problem, this study suggests opening a course, information user instructions, in the curriculum of library and information science of the colleges in South Korea and concretely demonstrated the curricular model. Also the course syllabus displays when this course would open.

1920년 종로도서관을 시작으로 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관(평생학습관 포함)의 역사는 어언 90여년이 흘렀다. 그간 양적으로나 질적으로 많은 발전을 거듭하였고, 시설, 환경 등 하드웨어적으로나 업무, 이용, 프로그램 등 소프트웨어적으로 과거보다는 효율성, 편의성, 다양성, 복잡성 등이 높아졌다. 또한 과거 관료적 모습도 많이 사라지고 모든 부문에 있어서 이용자 중심으로 변모되었다. 자료조직, 대출 및 열람, 이용자서비스 등 도서관 운영에 있어서도 사회 전반적 발전 및 정보화와 더불어 모든 면에서 격세지감을 느낄 정도로 큰 변화를 가져왔다. 여기에서는 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관 및 평생학습관의 변천 중 자료조직과 이용 부문에 대하여 현재와는 많이 달랐던 그 때 그 시절에 대한 기억들을 더듬어 보고자 한다.

As the ubiquitous society has come, users' demand for information and education from the library has changed and finally the necessity of change in the traditional information literacy that libraries have provided is on the rise. Based on the pre-judgement that women relatively have weak access to information in the knowledge information society and are in more special environment compared to other user groups, this study aimed to suggest u-Learning information literacy service for women. To this end, literature study, case analysis and questionnaire survey were conducted so that female users' demand for information and education was understood. Based on the results of these performances above, the requirements to develop programs for information literacy education service for female and contents in addition to models were suggested.
