This study aimed at analyzing the influence factors of the academic library on college's education and research performances. The researched subject was 144 colleges targeted for information disclosure by Center for Higher Education Information Disclosure. The conclusion of the present study is as follows. First, the educational performance in college showed the positive relation with 'library environment' variables except 'seating capacity per capita'. Second, the educational performance in college was positively related to the variable of 'library outcome' and particularly, it was directly influenced by circulation, visit, and interlibrary loan. Third, the research performance in college showed a positive correlation with 'library environment' variables except facility scale of library. Fourth, the research performance in college showed a positive relation with the variable of 'library outcome' and research performance excluding 'publication in domestic journals per capita' was positively influenced by 'document delivery services usage per capita' and 'commercial DB usage per capita' in common.

The purpose of this paper is to provide values and effectiveness to libraries making a new social network service marketing model and strategy. According to study, when libraries entice library users with social network services, the users become loyal customers who give libraries long-term supports. For method of study, it establishes 15 hypotheses and proves those hypotheses with 157 responders. After inspecting hypotheses, 13 hypotheses are adopted and 3 hypotheses are dismissed. During the research, it is verified that usefulness perceived by library users is the most important factor of user satisfaction and continuous use intention which increased library users' intention to continue visiting the library. In addition, effectivness of marketing and cause are found in order of system quality, information quality, reliability, interactivity, subjective norms. In other words, the study found that library users found their information for using social network services and this attribute affects user satisfaction and ultimately continuous use intention in a positive way.

최근 급속한 정보량의 증가와 함께 정보 통신 기술의 발달 및 인터넷의 보급의 확산에 따라 정보의 배포와 이응 방법도 크게 변화하고 있다. 즉, 기하급수적으로 증가하는 정보에 비해 산술적 증가 혹은 고정적인 공간 때문에 모든 도서관은 공간적인 문제에 직면하게 되었다. 과거로부터 정보커뮤니케이션, 특히 학문 연구분야의 주류매체로서 입지를 유지하였던 인쇄형 학술지는 연구활동의 가장 중요한 정보원으로써 연구자들의 연구동향과 함께 최신의 연구내용을 전달하는 매체이다. 도서관 및 정보센터는 학술지를 최대한 수집해야 하는데 학술지의 가격급등과 한정된 도서관 공간문제는 난제로 대두되고 있다. 이 연구는 국내외에서 이루어지고 있는 인쇄매체, 디지털매체에 담긴 학술정보자원의 아카이빙에 대한 연구동향 중 인쇄매체 또는 디지털매체로 학계에서 가장 활발하게 이용되고 있는 학술지를 디지털화하여 도서관 상호이용방식으로 서비스할 수 있는 방안을 고찰한 것이다.

The purpose of this study is (1) to ascertain the common trends In establishing the branch library of university libraries in Korea and (2) to Investigate Into Its effect upon the use of university libraries as a whole. In order to achieve this purpose. this study focused on the relationship of branch libraries with the size of library collections. the number of students, history of universities, the number of academic departments, the space of main libraries and the budget of the libraries. Seventy-three branch libraries established within the twenty-six university libraries were chosen for the first purpose of this study. In order to achieve this second purpose. 6 university libraries are chosen two libraries with six branch libraries. two libraries with three branch libraries. and two libraries without a branch library The number of visitors were counted at the doors of the six libraries at indifferent time periods.

The purpose of this study is to enhance the understanding of the provisions for library exceptions in copyright laws and to suggest the direction for the revision of provision in the Copyright Act of Korea. This study compares and analyzes the provisions for library exceptions in several countries' copyright law including Korea, Japan, UK, Australia and USA. This study found that the most common issues in library exception provisions are providing reproduction for users, reproduction for preservation, reproduction for interlibrary loan and digitization of library collections but the conditions for each issue are quite different. The suggestions for the revision of the library exceptions in the Copyright Act of Korea are as follows: changing the amount of reproduction of unpublished works, of works which cannot be obtained at a fair price and of periodicals for users, the transmitting digital reproduction to the user under limited conditions, preparing conditions for reproduction for preservation in libraries, preparing the applicable provisions for reproductions for interlibrary loans and for the limitation of works to be digitized and extending their use at the same time.

There are many systematic approaches to manage Interlibrary loan (ILL) efficiently. In this paper, we propose an operating method reducing user-waiting in ILL. Users are usually informed to wait around two to three days in a regional ILL service. The reason of the waiting is that there is inefficiency in running material-delivery vehicles. A mixed integer programming is employed to resolve this issue. It provides an optimal vehicle-route maximizing material-deliveries subject to time availability. We used an actual data of a regional ILL system to provide optimal vehicle routes under different time settings.

Libraries have been made effect to satisfy customer by reflecting information need of customer on libraries. They have considered introducing the data mining techniques to analyze complicated and massive data of libraries and the Customer Relationship Management(CRM) to produce suitable services to each customer segmentation. The purpose of this study is to apply the CRM and data mining techniques to a library, ultimately intends to suggest rules for the collection management and the customer management.

국내 대학도서관 및 연구기관에서는 컨소시엄에 가입해 전자정보를 구독하고 있다. 저렴한 비용으로 많은 자료를 구독해 예산 절감효과는 있으나 이용 및 활용면에서는 극히 미비한 실정이다. 지역간 전자정보를 공동 활용하는 방안으로는 전자정보를 공동 수서해 근거리에 위치해 있는 대학도서관에서는 상호대차 및 정보공유 협정을 맺어 이용시키는 것이 효율적이며, 이용성활화 방안에 대해서는 천안의 C대학교 홈페이지를 사례로 하여 살펴보았다. 전자정보의 이용활성화는 이용자 편의형 통합 인터페이스를 추축하여 전자정보 원문에 대한 다양한 접근점을 이용할 수 있는 홈페이지를 구현하는 것이 효과적인 방안인 것으로 밝혀졌다.

This study measured whether web-based library user education represent web-based instruction theories in education. 9 criteria used were course-related instruction, collaborative learning, evaluation of tutorials, education of information retrieval, contents tables, multimedia interaction between users and librarians, navigational aids, variation of menus. The result showed that both contents and design of web sites were important for good web-based library user education.
