  • EBLIP seeks to improve library practice by utilizing the best available evidence in conjunction with a pragmatic perspective developed from working experiences in librarianship. The purpose of this study is to apply the evidence-based library and information practice(EBLIP) in Korean librarianship with encouraging the practitioners to publish in their workplace. Content analysis on papers accepted for publication among five LIS journals and focus group interview were performed in order to investigate the contexts and perceptions on the publishing activities of practicing librarians. While the proportion of papers that librarians wrote was calculated at 26 percent among the sample, the percentage of papers with librarians as a single author was only 9.2. Significant obstacles for librarians to publish papers due to organizational level were observed. The author suggests organizational support and better framework for communicating research based on practice such as publication of evidence-based practical journal and the adoption of structural abstract. The findings reinforce the importance of teaching rigorous research methods in workplace.

  • The nuclear knowledge management is now being operated in the KAERI and also actively practiced in other member states of the IAEA. The INIS secretariat leads the knowledge management. As the traditional service areas of librarians are decreasing, the knowledge management is considered as a promising service area replacing the traditional librarian's role. This new area is in Blue Ocean and needs to great concern and understanding. INIS is the world's leading information system on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. INIS is operated by the IAEA in collaboration with its member states and cooperating international organizations. INIS has more than 2.7 million items and provides users a comprehensive information reference service for literature in nuclear science and technology. The input amount ranks fifth in the world and it operates the INIS 2 host site. INIS in Korea is playing a leading role in the IAEA.

  • RFID is application field is very wide. For example, There is parking administration system, bookkeeper administration system etc. Such application system must do priority Carrier wave choice according to application purpose. If in case of Carrier frequency is low, awareness distance is short and Carrier frequency is high, awareness distance is very long. This uses in case awareness object is fast-moving. And it must be Tag's supply and demand's that is smooth. Even if development of system is completed, if Tag's purchase is difficult, developing item is not need. In this paper, we shows RFID system using EM4095 chip that is using 125KHz by carrier wave. EM4095 is high effectiveness chip of the low-power and circuit is very simple. It is possible to read with being write as that connect 4 lines with MCU. MCU used Atmega128. As result, we explained circuit and control programs for each part, and show Tag's ID reception that use Reader by picture.

  • The aim of this study is to identify the research topics and suggest an information literacy curriculum by analyzing research articles on information literacy. For this purpose, we applied the topic modeling technique to 97 scientific articles and identified the core contents of information literacy education, such as media literacy, information literacy instruction, and the use of information resources. Based on the analysis results, we suggested an information literacy curriculum by considering the Big 6 model, information literacy standards of American Association of School Library, and Association of College and Research Libraries's information literacy competencies. This study is significant in that it considered 'use of information resources' and 'information ethics' to suggest information literacy education.

  • This paper reports the results of the analysis on the access points of two bibliographic databases specialized in children's materials: "A" public library's online catalog and "N" children's novel database. The analysis particularly focused on the access points that lead users to discover their own needs and on the ways users search and navigate. The findings showed that the selected bibliographic systems supported many access points that were taken from the materials as well as from other relevant information sources and that browsing and navigating with hyperlinks supported the users' 'recognition' of information through 'interactivity' between the users and the systems, 'information encountering,' and 'serendipity.' The findings of this paper have implications for librarians and systems designers who want to develop user-friendly bibliographic systems that give access to children's materials.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the field experience of collaboration classes for Media and Information Literacy (MIL) and to obtain implications for MIL collaboration classes. To this end, focus group interviews (FGI) were conducted with 11 teachers and 9 students from 5 elementary and secondary schools. The research results are as follows. First, collaboration classes were not commonly operated in educational settings. Second, teachers and students who experienced collaboration classes were found to increase students' class participation. Fourth, despite their satisfaction with collaboration classes, teachers reported that the number of class hours increased or they felt burdened by class preparation. Since the achievement and satisfaction of teachers and students in MIL collaborative classes were high, it is necessary to develop a MIL collaborative class model and guidelines to expand MIL collaborative classes.
