A Study on the Meaning and Application of Alternative Leadership in University Libraries (대학도서관에서 대안적 리더십의 의미와 적용에 관한 고찰)

  • In the knowledge society, alternative leadership induces voluntary participation by motivating the members through horizontal, emotional approach and responsibility. There is little theoretical discussion about theoretical research on alternative leadership and its applicability in university libraries. In this study, we will discuss the theoretical review of alternative leadership, the change of knowledge management paradigm in university library, the role of manager and librarian, and alternative leadership application. Through this, I would like to suggest the development direction for strengthening the leadership of the librarians who will lead the university library.

  • 정보이용자연구는 정보추구자들이 중심이 되는 이용자 중심으로 패러다임 전환이 이루어졌고 연구과정에 보다 관심을 가지게 되었으며, 정보추구자의 특성과 요구를 알기 위한 많은 시도가 이루어지고 있으며, 개인적인 정보제공자와 더 많은 시간을 보내고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 시도와 노력을 통하여 개발되는 정보이용행태 모형은 이용자를 이해하고 기술하는 깊이가 심화되는 현상을 나타내고 있다. 정보이용자연구는 도서관업무 및 정보서비스의 모든 분야에 걸쳐 이해의 기초가 되는 영역으로, 연구결과 및 지금까지 도출된 많은 모형들이 상황에 맞게 정보 서비스, 정보시스템, 도서관 정책결정 및 경영 등의 영역에서 고려되고 적용되고 있다.

A Study on "Chack DanBi" Library Circulation Service ("책단비" 도서대출서비스에 관한 연구)

  • The library circulation service, which refers to the lending of library material outside of the library, is a basic and essential service provided by the library. However, changes in the library circulation service are being made according to a more management-oriented operation and the development of information technology. Consequently, the library faces a paradigm shift 'from library-centered service' to 'user-oriented service' and experiences changes in library circulation service due to the growth of library networks. Also, each library, in order to respond to the changes, tries to specialize the library circulation service by utilizing available library resources. In that context, this study, through the case study of the "Chack DanBi" library circulation service of Eunpyeong Public Library, investigates and analyzes the changing library circulation service according to the above perspectives; seeks the meaning of the service; and aims at enhancing our understanding of the library circulation service.

A Study of Agility and User Satisfaction with e-Services in Korean University Digital Libraries (국내 대학 디지털도서관 e-서비스의 민첩성 역량과 이용자 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • Rapid changes in information technologies are forcing dramatic shifts in how business are conducted in various industry sectors. This pace of change is increasing all around the world. Accordingly, there is a need for the libraries to provide the information services with agility, which emphasizes on the prompt reaction to the changes, which are almost impossible to predict. Especially, the digital libraries higher education institutions require more agility as their main mission is providing a wide range of cutting edge information for the research and education activities. In this study, the notion of 'agility' is examined then the relationship between the digital library's e-service measure evaluation factors and the capability, which is defined as agility, is explored. In addition, the impact of agility in user satisfaction is analyzed. Based on these analyses, the factors to consider in managing digital libraries in higher education institution, are suggested.
