The purpose of this study is to explain information usage behavior of researchers in the field of ocean science and technology. The study mainly collected primary data for advancement of special library services as well as establishment of personalized information services based on personal characteristics such as age, education level, and area of research. The data collection was conducted for two weeks during January 2014, through a web survey to 348 researchers in national ocean research institutions in South Korea. Total of 115 researchers replied. The analysis showed that the most preferred type of information medium was a scholarly journal. Researchers used more foreign published journals compared to Korean ones, while favoring digital formats rather than printed ones. The top channels for information collection were 'web search' and 'affiliated libraries.' Most pointed out difficulties of data collection were 'lack of variety of digital resources in affiliated libraries' and 'reluctance to use charged information.' Key elements for satisfactory user experience were ranked in the order of 'digital library system,' 'library staff,' and 'library collection' and so on;which proves the close relationship between library service and information usage service satisfaction. The result of an assessment for demands in special libraries showed that 'personalized information search service,' 'project support service,' and 'research direction analysis service' should be implemented in the future.

도서관은 공공서비스 중에서도 강제적인 서비스가 아니고 임의적인 또는 생활의 질과 관련되는 서비스이기 때문에 서비스 수요는 접근용이성이나 주변환경 등의 영향을 받게 된다. 그러나 지금까지 우리나라의 공공도서관의 입지결정은 정책결정자의 의지나 경험이 크게 작용하여 이용자의 이용측면을 고려하지 않고 설립되었다. 본 연구는 공공도서관의 입지와 이용과의 관련성을 밝히기 위하여 이용자가 인지하는 접근용이성과 주변환경의 주관적 인지도를 측정하고 이용이 높은 도서관과 이용이 낮은 도서관간의 차이를 밝힘으로써 앞으로의 공공도서관의 입지선장에 유용한 자료를 제시하는 데 그 목적을 두었다.

법치주의 사회에서는 개인적으로 혹은 단체의 입장에서 모두 법률정보를 필요로 하지만, 특히 법률전문직에 종사하는 사람들은 그들의 사회적 임무와 역할이 법률과 관련되어 있으므로 더욱 강하게 법률정보를 필요로 한다. 이들에게 보다 효율적으로 법률정보를 제공하기 위하여는 정보시스템을 구축하는 것이 필요하고, 이 시스템은 이용자의 정보요구와 이용행태에 적합하도록 즉 이용자의 요구를 충분히 반영할 수 있는 내용을 수록하며, 이용자의 연구습관 및 연구행태 등을 고려하여 마련하여야 하므로, 법률전문직 종사자의 정보요구와 이용행태에 관한 조사는 적절한 시스템의 구축을 위한 선결조건이다. 따라서 본고에서는 법률전문직을 두 집단 즉 실무가 (판사, 검사, 변호사)와 학자(법학교수)로 나누어, 각 집단의 법률정보에 대한 태도, 정보요구와 이용행태의 패턴 및 법률정보원에 대한 태도에 관하여 조사한후, 두 집단의 정보에 관한 특성을 비교하였다. 그 조사결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 실무가와 학자 모두 그들의 연구를 위하여 주로 사용하는 것은 인쇄 자료로서의 판례집과 법령집이다. 그러나 이들 자료중에서 주로 이용되는 자료는 두 집단간에 차이를 보이고 있다. 2) 실무가와 학자 모두 일차자료들의 수록범위, 수록내용, 검색방법 등에 관하여 만족을 못하지만, 특히 검색방법에 대한 불만이 가장 크게 나타나고 있다. 이용자는 일반적으로 특정 주제어에 의하여 필요한 법률정보에 접근하기를 원하지만 이러한 요구를 충족시켜 주지 못한다. 3) 두 집단은 그들의 역할이 각기 다르므로 따라서 선호되는 법률정보의 종류에 대한 순서에 있어서 차이가 있다. 4) 도서관에 대한 태도에 있어서 두 집단은 상이한 입장을 보이고 있다. 학자들의 과반수는 중요 정보원으로서 자신의 개인장서를 활용하며, 도서관의 장서 및 그 조직방법에 대해서도 별로 만족하지를 못하고 있다. 반면에, 실무가들은 도서관에 대하여 비교적 만족하며 따라서 도서관에 대한 이용도도 높다. 5) 두 집단 모두 보조인을 적극적으로 활용하지 않으며 사서의 도움을 받는 경우도 극소수에 불과하다. 이러한 조사결과를 기초로 하여 볼 때 법률전문직을 둘러싼 정보환경을 개선하기 위하여는, 인쇄된 일차적 정보자료의 검색방법등을 개선하고, 나아가서는 법령과 판례정보를 위한 효율적인 시스템을 구축하며, 뿐만 아니라 이용자의 요구에 충분히 대처할 수 잇는 도서관으로 변화되는 것이다. 이와 함께 가장 중요한 것은 법과대학과 사법연수원에서 법학 연구방법에 관한 강좌를 개설하여 각종 법률정보원의 활용 내지 도서관 이용방법에 관하여 교육하는 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the usage patterns of document delivery services of domestic users based on usage transaction data about photocopying services of KISTI-DDS that the most important document delivery organization in Korea.. For the purpose of this study, it was investigated the number of processed document, type of favorite documents, ordering coverage for photocopying, delivery methods of photocopying documents for users in DDS(document delivery service) through transaction data of DDS during the past 4 years from 2000 to 2003.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the characteristics of a cooperative storage facility for academic libraries in Korea. For this facility, discussed are how to select a site, build physical facilities, recruit participating organizations, prepare for selection criteria and ownership of resources, confirm service policies, and implement a integrated library management and access system. It is emphasized that a cooperative storage facility for academic libraries in Korea should ensure the optimum use of space on campus, preserve "the last copy" which is not frequently used, but still has scholarly values, and extend the effective and efficient resource sharing among participating libraries.

This study Performed five weeks' education on library use as a regular cultural subject at the target on university students and analyzed the difference in their library anxiety between Pre-education and Post-education as well as the difference in educational effectiveness based on the frequency of library use. The result intends to Present the result for basic materials which aye necessary for promoting the education on library use. The object of study selected the university freshmen. located in Gyeonggi-do, taking a lessen of cultural essential subjects. The education contents on library use were the understanding of library organization and function, the structure of library materials, the kind and use of academic information, the citation of materials, the description of bibliography, and the copyright in a library. The study methods applied in the study, were literature researches and two-times' questionnaire surveys in the first week of the education and the last week of that. Total 92 materials were applied for this study. This study performed faired t-test and independent t-test. As a result, four factors of six ones on library anxiety were selected in the verification of hypotheses after performing an education on university students' library use. In addition, the difference in education effectiveness based on university students' library use frequency was excluded in the course of hypothesis verification on six factors or library anxiety.

The researcher conducts the survey through questioner method and analyzed the data in detail about E-resources available at SRM University library. The objectives of the study are to find out the awareness of use and purposes and their level of satisfaction of users. Further the researcher identifies the barrier and the ways and means of improvement of the use of E-resources. A total of 1,205 respondent was participating in this survey.

The research purpose for this paper is adopt the European Customer Satisfaction Index(ECSI) on a survey performed on library users to measure users' satisfaction and loyalty factors. A questionnaire is designed to integrate measurement into the library's management system for visual analysis of what users expect from library. Results from the survey show that users expect more improvement in the library environment and collection of printed publications section. Conclusion from the survey. we were able to make the following suggestions to satisfy user expectations: (1) improve library environment (2) increase collections of printed publications and periodical to meet readers' demands (3) offer more fiendly and helpful user service.

In 2nd chapter; thesis of conceptive model of children's library digital material room. In 3rd Chapter: Present status analysis of N. W. Children's library digital material room operation, and analysis of using and demand of public school 100 pupils. In 4th Chapter : Suggesting conclusion of revitalization of children's library digital material room based on utilization and demand appeared through this study.

It's getting popularized to collect information connecting web sites with massive information through the internet and advanced search engines. Users can handle digital materials like E-book wherever the internet is available and they will demand digital information increasingly. This study analyzes literature investigation, statistics analyses of the attached library of Kyushu University, drawings and field investigation to suggest a new model of a library which handles traditional paper-formed materials and digital-formed materials at one place with growing importance of digital materials. It results that a library performs a important role like a learning space and functions as a sociocultural communication space. Also it shows that it is required to basically reinvestigate the role of 'space' in the library with a great importance of digital materials. In the hybrid library combined with subjects and reorganized at one place, One-stop services like library materials and manpower can be provided for users staying at the same area.
