미국과 일본 등 해외 각국들은 정부가 주도적으로 나서 각 대학 디지틀 라이브러리를 하나의 네트워크로 구축하는 디지틀 도서관 망 설치 작업을 진행중이다. 이는 사용자가 어디서나 필요한 자료를 연결된 대학 도서관을 검색해 쉽게 획득할 수 있도록 하기 위해서이다. 미국과 일본의 사례를 살펴봤다.

편집자 주; 아직도 경제적 자립을 제대로 이룩하지 못한 우리 한국의 현실을 감안할 때 다른 선진국과 같이 국제도서발전기구를 설치한다는 일이 그리 용역한 일이 아닌 줄 알지만 세계 각국이 상호간에 지식 내지 정보의 원활한 소통의 모색을 위한 노력을 계속하는 오늘 날 교육수준에서 비교적 상위권에 속한 우리로서는 지식, 정보를 창출해내는 도서산업이나 그것을 보관, 이용에 공케 해주는 도서관에 대한 당국의 보다 적극적인 지원방안이 마련되어야 할 필요성에서 우리도 정부주도하에 국가도서발전 추진기구와 같은 것을 설치하여 도서유관분야를 총망라하여 운영하는 일이 바람직스럽다. ㄷ우기 아시아 각국대표가 한곳에 모여 당해국의 도서발전에 대한 문제점과 해결방안에 관하여 상호의견을 나눈 것은 실로 의의 깊은 일이었다. 따라서 이와 같은 세미나의 결과를 본지에 게재하여 도서관발전과 밀접한 관련을 갖이는 도서발전을 위한 문제해결방안의 내용과 유관 문화 분야의 새로운 발전방향을 알아 보고자 한다.

"정보과학입문(情報科學入門)"이라는 과목(科目)은 자연과학(自然科學)에 대한 학문적(學問的) 배경(背景)이 없거나 정보과학분야(情報科學分野)의 다른 과목(科目)을 이수(履修)하지 않은 도서관학과(圖書館學科) 학생(學生)을 위해서 교재(敎材)로서 설치(設置)되었다. 본고(本稿)는 이 과목(科目)이 발전(發展)되어온 과정(過程)과, 도서관학과(圖書館學科) 교과과정(敎科課程)에 정보과학입문(情報科學入門)이라는 교과목(敎科目)을 설치(設置)하게 된 동기(動機) 및 그 타당성(妥當性), 그리고 그 교과(敎科)의 목적(目的), 방향(方向) 및 중요(重要)한 주제분야(主題分野), 교과구조(敎科構造) 및 중요(重要)한 내용(內容), 사용(使用)된 교수방법(敎授方法) 및 이 과목(科目)에 대한 개인적(個人的) 평가(評價) 등을 취급하고 있다. 특별(特別)히 교수방법(敎授方法)은 학생(學生)들이 원전(原典)을 읽을 수 있도록 하였다. 학생(學生)들은 복잡(複雜)한 연구논문(硏究論文)은 물론(勿論) 정보과학(情報科學)의 업무(業務)를 도서관업무(圖書館業務)와 성공적(成功的)으로 관련(關聯)시켜 처리(處理)할 수 있다는 사실(事實)을 알게 되었다.

With the spread of the maker movement and matching of the standards for the 21st century learners and the maker competencies, there is a social and temporal need for makerspaces building and maker education in school libraries, Prior to the establishment of the school library makerspaces, we intended to investigate the awareness of the school librarian on the creation and operation of the school library makerspaces. For this purpose, a questionnaire was constructed based on the theoretical review and the response data of 171 school librarians were collected through a web survey. Technical statistics, cross-analysis, and ANOVA were conducted using SPSS window 19.0 and content analysis was conducted on open-ended questions. The Questionnaires consisted of questions about whether the school library makerspace was installed or not and necessity, reason, and difficulty in creating and operating the makerspace. As a result of the study, it was found that the establishment of the school library makerspace was very low at 2.3%, and the recognition of the makerspace of the school librarian was below the normal level. On the other hand, the perception of necessity appeared to be more than normal, and the school library was generally considered to be a suitable place for the makerspace installation. However, negative opinions about the school library makerspaces were also raised in various aspects.

제34회 전국도서관주간(한국도서관협회 주관, 문화관광부 후원)이 4월 12일부터 18일까지 전국의 공공도서관을 비롯하여 각급도서관별로 다양하게 개최되었다. 우리 협회는 도서관에 대한 국민적 관심과 이해도를 높이고자 지난 ‘65년부터 매년 4월 12일에서 18일까지 1주일 간을 ’도서관주간‘으로 정하고 우리협회에 주관하에 전국 각급도서관이 중심이 되어 다양한 도서관문화 행사를 전개해오고 있다. “도서관에 가서보면 길이 보인다”라는 주제로 개최된 이번 도서관주간 행사에는 ’특별강좌. 강연‘ ’모범이용자표창‘ ’작가와의 만남‘ ’도서관 알기‘ ’동화구연‘ ’독서토론‘ 등과 같은 행사뿐만 아니라 경제위기로 인한 고실업사회의 대응책으로 ’창업 및 구직정보 관련코너‘설치 ’자녀 논술 및 독서지도 강좌‘등이 많은 공공도서관에서 실시된 것이 눈에 띄었으며 ’정보찾기대회‘ 컴퓨터강좌’ ‘영어동화들려주기’ 등의 다양한 프로그램도 정보화, 국제화 시대에 맞춰 개최되었다. 이번 행사에서 특히 눈길을 모은 것은 제주도 한수풀도서관에서 ‘창간호 특별전시회’로서, 이는 고병률 사서의 개인소장자료 전시회로 한 사서의 자료보존에 대한 애착을 엿볼 수 있었으며, 대구광역시립동부도서관의 ‘도서관주간 음악회’와 대학도서관에서는 드물게 개최된 계명대학교동산도서관의 초청강연회 ‘미국대학도서관의 업무처리와 정보 서비스: 연사 박혜옥(캘리포니아대학도서관사서)’등도 돋보였다. 이번 도서관주간에 개최된 각급 도서관별 행사 내역을 아래의 표는 정리한 것임.

채 10년도 안되는 기간동안 학교도서관은 천국과 지옥을 오가고 있다. 2002년부터 교육인적자원부(현 교육과학기술부) 주도로 시작된 '학교도서관활성화사업'을 통해 낡은 학교도서관 시설은 현대식으로 바뀌었으며, 교원으로서 사서교사는 1998년부터 지속적으로 현장에 배치되었고, 2007년 "학교도서관진흥법"이 제정되면서 나름 학교도서관에 대한 구체적인 법적 관심을 받았다. 먼지 쌓이는 교실 한 칸도 되지 않던 창고같던 학교도서관은 늘어난 장서와 PC를 포함한 다양한 IT 기기, 편안하게 책을 읽을 수 있는 교구 등을 갖추면서 나름 도서관답게 바뀌기 시작했던 시기이다. 학교도서관 운영의 주체성과 자율성을 가질 수 있는, 많지는 않더라도 교사라는 지위로 사서교사가 전국의 초 중등학교에 지속적으로 배치되던 시기이기도 하다. 도서관 관련 법에서 늘 구석에 있던 학교도서관은 "학교도서관진흥법" 및 시행령이라는 단독법안으로 제정되어 법리 상 관심을 받던 시기였다. 여기에 더해 책 읽기에 대한 관심이 커지면서 학교도서관을 중심으로 다양한 책읽기 프로그램 등이 운영되고 나름 학교도서관이 활성화되는 것 같았다. 하지만 화려하게 바뀐 학교도서관은 자격이 있는 인적자원 배치와 지속적인 장서의 공급 등을 통해 유지되기보다는 운영시간 연장 등 시설 자체의 운영에 초점이 맞춰지는 시기로 바뀌었다. 98.6%에 이르는 학교도서관 설치 대비 46% 밖에 되지 않는 인적자원의 배치 현황, 그나마 학교도서관에 배치된 인적자원의 14.7%만이 정규직 사서교사, 사서(직원)이라는 현실은 안정적이고 지속적인 인적자원 배치에 대한 기대를 더 이상 할 수 없는 어려운 시기로 바뀌었음을 보여준다. 단독법안으로 학교도서관의 진흥과 활성화에 기여할 것으로 기대했던 "학교도서관진흥법"은 학교도서관 관련 시설, 인적자원, 운영에 대한 분명하고 명확하지 않은 법조항 때문에 관점에 따라 다양한 해석을 할 수 있어 오히려 학교도서관의 발전을 저해한다는 일부의 비판도 받았다.

어린이들은 독서 활동을 통해 새로운 지식을 얻고, 생활의 즐거움을 얻으며, 사고력을 증진시킬 수 있다. 이 때문에 학교에서는 독서교육을 강조하고 있고 정부에서도 모든 학교에 도서관 설치 운영 계획을 추진하고 있으며 사이버 도서관이 갖추어져 운영되고 있다. 사이버 도서관의 운영은 독서교육에 많은 도움을 주고 있으나 초등학교 어린이들이 즐겨 참여할 수 있고 독서 교육에 효율적인 구조로 운영되는 사이트를 찾기가 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 독서 활동에 자기 주도적으로 참여하면서 독서교육을 할 수 있는 독서활동 관리 시스템을 설계하고 구축한다.

Gannam-gu established 'school digital libraries' in 15 of their elementary schools between September 2001 to October 2002, and now offers library services to both students and residents All expenses and human resources for these libraries are provided by the Gannam-gu and schools provide only their vacant classrooms. This is a good example of combined school-public library The type of combined school-public library can be a useful suggestion for our educational situation. So the purpose of this study is to reveal the actual condition and the efficiency of the library established by Gannam-gu, a well-known case of a combined school-public library.

Based on the current status of use of L-Commerce installed in the Yongsan Public Library and Mapo Lifelong Learning Center, this study suggested the direction of spatial design for the public library's makerspace with L-Commons model. To this end, we investigated the literature research on library makerspaces and the case studies of makerspaces installed in 25 public libraries in Korea and 18 public libraries in the US. And In-depth interviews and user surveys were conducted. The public library makerspace presented through this study should be an open space where everyone in the community can easily enter, break down barriers between all classes in the region, and lead to smooth communication. Second, it should be a learning, cooperation, and creative space where resources can be shared and cooperation for creative activities and projects can be carried out. Third, it should be a creative workspace where community members can turn ideas into physical things that anyone can't do elsewhere or work on something interesting.

The purpose of this study is identify factors influenced of children's library use and management through investigating the use patterns and recognition of children's parents on children's libraries. Questionnaire was used as a research method. Data was collected from the parents who entered library entrance with their child and children on four public libraries. Six factors were identified from four public libraries setting. There were the spatial planning based upon library use patterns, the flexibility and mobile furnishings, the activity area for causing children's Interesting, the guarantee of safety Place for children, the quiet area for emotional stability, and functional place for moving around.
