Design and Evaluation of a GNSS Receiver Network For Lane-By-Lane Traffic Monitoring (차선별 교통 모니터링을 위한 위성항법 수신기망 설계 및 성능 평가)

  • For the realization of future intelligent transportation systems, fine-grained lane-by-lane traffic monitoring and control functionalities are among the most important technology barriers to overcome. To satisfy the accuracy requirement for traffic monitoring, a GNSS receiver network is designed. The designed receiver network consists of three different types of entities; reference server, broadcaster, and client. For deployment flexibility, all the entities utilize the international message standard RTCM SC-104 version 3.0. For fine-grained traffic monitoring, the client is designed to utilize position-domain carrier-smoothed-code filters to provide accurate vehicle coordinates in spite of frequent addages and outages of visible satellites. An experiment result is presented to evaluate the positioning accuracy of the proposed method.

Development of Lane Changing Model with regard to Safety Distance of Vehicles (차량간 안전거리를 고려한 차로변경 모형개발)

  • The conventional lane changing model has been developed without acceleration or deceleration of vehicles at target lane. Thus, existing lane changing models have limitation to apply in real world. In this paper, lane changing model considered acceleration or deceleration, and calculated the safety distance between subject vehicle and adjacent vehicles for lane changing as well. Simulation was conducted to verify the validity and the efficiency of the developed lane changing model in this paper. Several scenarios were carefully examined by safety distance between subject vehicle and adjacent vehicles. In the result, it was verified that if gap between subject vehicle and adjacent vehicles is larger than safety distance, lane changing behavior between subject vehicle and adjacent vehicles avoids collision. The suggested lane changing model may be applied at the future driver assistance system and advanced safety vehicle.

Developing a Vehicle Classification Algorithm Based on the Trend Line to Vehicle Lengths and Wheelbases (차량길이와 축거의 추세선을 이용한 차종분류 알고리즘 개발)

  • In order to observe the impact of a type of vehicles for traffic flows and pavement, vehicle classifications is conducted. Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs provides 12-type vehicle classifications on National expressways, National highways, and Provincial roads. Current AVC (Automatic Vehicle Classification) devices decide vehicle types comparing measurements of vehicle lengths, wheelbases, overhangs etc. to a reference table including those of all types of models. This study developed an algorithm for macroscopic vehicle classification which is less sensitive to tuning sensors and updating the reference table. For those characteristics, trend lines in vehicle lengths and wheelbases are employed. To assess the algorithm developed, vehicle lengths and wheelbases were collected from an AVC device. In this experiment, this algorithm showed the accuracy of 88.2 % compared to true values obtained from video replaying. Our efforts in this study are expected to contribute to developing devices for macroscopic vehicle classification.

Digital Mapping Based on Digital Ortho Images (수치정사투영영상을 이용한 수치지도제작)

  • In the recent day, the necessity and the effective usage are increased rapidly, and it is applied in many other fields as well as in the field of ortho-photo map. In this study, we extract each objects on the aerial image and automatically classify graphic information to produce digital map using only digital ortho-image without particular drawing devices for producing digital map. For this purpose, we have applied a lot of the image processing techniques and fuzzy theory, classified outline and lane of road and building, and had each layer according to each feature. Especially, in the case of the building, the outer vector lines extracted by pixel unit at the building were very complex, but we have developed the program to be expressed by I-dimensional linear type between building corners. In the result of this study, we could not extract and recognize all of the object on the image all together, but we have got the error within 50cm using semi-automatic technique. Therefore, this method will be used effectively in producing 1/5,000 digital map.

An Expressway Path Travel Time Estimation Using Hi-pass DSRC Off-Line Travel Data (하이패스 DSRC 자료를 활용한 고속도로 오프라인 경로통행시간 추정기법 개발)

  • Korea Expressway Corporation has been utilizing vehicles equipped with dedicated short range communication (DSRC) based on-board equipment (OBE) for collecting path travel times. A path based method (PBM) estimates the path travel time using probe vehicles traveling whole links on the path, so it is not always possible to obtain sufficient samples for calculating path travel time in the DSRC system. Having this problem in utilizing DSRC for travel time information, this study attempted to estimate path travel time with the help of a link based method (LBM) and examined whether the LBM can be used for obtaining reliable path travel times. Some comparisons were made and identified that the MAPE difference between the LBM and the PBM estimates are less than 3%, signaling that LBM can be used as a proxy for PBM in case of sparse sample conditions. Some limitations and a future research agenda have also been proposed.

수의학강좌 - 환경분쟁(소음.진동.먼지 등)으로 인한 가축피해에 미치는 영향과 최근 배상액 산정기준

  • 최근 국내의 각종 공사장부근에서 일어나는 가축에 대한 환경분쟁(소음, 진동, 먼지 등)피해를 호소하는 농가가 지속적으로 늘고 있으나, 피해 농가의 피해를 입증할 수 있는 객관적인 자료가 부족한데 따라 보고서를 작성하는 데 여간 어려웠던 적이 한, 두번이 아님에 많은 아쉬움을 가졌다. 각종 공사로 인해 가축 사육 장소인 목장(농장)내 도로개설 및 관통으로 인한 목장의 지속여부, 겨울철 수렵시기에 총성으로 인한 한우 성장지연, 육질 저하 등에 미치는 영향, 태양광 발전소가 축사 인근에 있어 사육 한우가 성장지연 등의 피해를 호소하는 농가가 있으나, 이에 대한 관련 연구자들의 많은 연구가 이뤄졌으면 한다. 그런 가운데서 우리 임상수의사들의 관련 자료나 정보를 입수하여 보다 적극적으로 대처하여 피해 축산농가들에 대한 보상에 도움을 줘야 하나, 피해 목장내 사육가축의 진단서나 소견서등 발부요청에 미온적이거나 회피하는 경우들을 적잖게 목도를 하고 실망감을 감출 수가 없었다. 진단서 등의 각 항목의 기재 내용의 누락, 여러 마리를 한 장(1두 1매 원칙)에 작성한다거나 유 사 조산시 정확한 월(일)령의 비기재, 환경분쟁과 관련된 피해사실의 누락이나 전혀 무관한 병명으로 발급하는 경우 및 수의사법 등에서 승인된 양식을 이탈하여 임의로 작성하는 등의 예를 간혹 보아왔는 터라 개선이 시급하다 하겠다. 임상 수의사들이 발급하는 진단서나 소견서 등은 어디까지 관련 전문가나 법원 등의 감정시 어디까지나 참고용으로 활용되고, 발급에 따른 제 비용은 인정될 경우에는 피해농가들에게 되돌려주며, 절대적으로 피해를 주는 일이 없다는 것을 강조해두고 싶다. 따라서 필자는 환경분쟁사건을 현지조사내지는 보고서를 작성하면서 아직도 우리 임상 수의사들은 새로운 분야에 대한 능동적인 대처가 더더욱 요구되는 시기에 수동적이거나 미온적으로 대하는 사례에 안타까움을 호소하며, 환경분쟁시 가축에 미치는 영향과 최근 새로이 제시된 배상액의 산정기준을 소개하여 도움을 주고 싶다.

Landform Classifications and Management Plan in Gwangneung Forest (광릉숲 지역 지형분류와 관리방안)

  • This study was carried out to suggest plan of earth surface erosion by typifying landforms in Gwangeung Forest. Elements of landform were classifyed as hierachical system by scale. Scale for classification set a decision as four categories. We could classify landforms which level zero is 4 levels of elements, level one is 6, level two is twelve, level three is twenty seven. However, micro landforms of valley bottom which is hard to mapping made a categorization as upper valley, middle valley, artificial channel valley. Plan for soil erosion suggested yarding corridor, landform management for surroundings of slope and bridge using rock and gravel, road construction for forest management stable bedrock rather than soil layer, repose angles and piling up rocks for channel walls, and setting up buffer zone when forest thinning be carried out. The result of this research will be expected to provide information for forest management of mountainous areas by landform types.

Shadow Extraction of Urban Area using Building Edge Buffer in Quickbird Image (건물 에지 버퍼를 이용한 Quickbird 영상의 도심지 그림자 추출)

  • High resolution satellite images have been used for building and road system analysis, landscape analysis, and ecological assessment for several years. However, in high resolution satellite images, shadows are necessarily cast by manmade objects such as buildings and over-pass bridges. This paper develops the shadow extraction procedures in urban area including various land-use classes, and the extracted shadow areas are evaluated by a manually digitized shadow map. For the shadow extraction, the Canny edge operator and the dilation filter are applied to make building edge buffer area. Also, the object-based segmentation was performed using Gram-Schmitt fusion image, and spectral and spatial parameters are calculated from the segmentation results. Finally, we proposed appropriate parameters and extraction rules for the shadow extraction. The accuracy of the shadow extraction results from the various assessment indices is 80% to 90%.

The Development of Landslide Predictive System using Measurement Information based on u-IT (u-IT기반 계측정보를 이용한 급경사지붕괴 예측 시스템 개발)

  • This paper has studied about the development and application of landslide collapse prediction real-time monitoring system based on USN to detect and measure the collapse of landslide. The rainfall measuring sensor, gap water pressure sensor, indicator displacement measuring sensor, index inclination sensor, water content sensor and image analysis sensor are selected and these are applied on the test bed. Each sensor's operation and performance for reliability verification is tested by the instrument which is installed in the field. As the result, u-IT based real-time landslide monitoring system which is developed by this research for landslide collapse detection could minimize life and property damages because it makes advance evacuation with collapse risk pre-estimate through real-time monitoring on roadside cut and bedrock slopes. This system is based on the results of this study demonstrate the effect escarpment plan are spread throughout.

Malaysian Vehicle License Plate Recognition in Low Illumination Images (저 조도 영상에서의 말레이시아 차량 번호판 인식)

  • In the Malaysian license plates, alphabets and numerals which are made by plastic, are adhered to a frame as embossing style and occasionally characters in horizontal, vertical directions are aligned with narrow space. So the extraction of character stroke information can be hard in the vehicle images of low illumination intensity. In this paper, Malaysian license plate recognition algorithm for low illumination intensity image is proposed. DoG filtering based character stroke generation method is introduced to derive exact connected components of strokes in the vehicle image of low illumination intensity. After localization of plate by connected component analysis, characters are segmented and recognized. Algorithm is experimented for the 6,046 vehicle images captured in Kuala Lumpur by IR camera without using any special light during day and night. The experimental results show that recognition accuracy of plates is 96.1%.
