A study on the evaluation of dangerous roads under heavy rain (집중호우에 의한 위험도로 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Navigation or Portal sites is providing real-time information of roads according to heavy rain in guide services for finding a path recently. Especially "e-traffic alerts" is providing traffic information according to the presence of road flooding and accidents. This research is goal to provide drivers to real-time status information of roads which have the connected its information to support the real-time rainfall information of meteorological office and portal sites. We suggest the evaluation method of risk roads combined the real-time rainfall information and portal information.

Development of Korean Life Cycle Cost Analysis Model for Road Pavement Asset Management (도로포장자산관리를 위한 한국형 생애주기비용 모형 개발)

  • Road pavement management is an important activity that affects to national economy, movement and safety of people, and also demands huge amount of budget. Therefore, its management strategy must be established under objective information. In addition, decision support system that produces the management strategy needs to consider practical benefits from various aspects. Considering these aspects, this paper aimed to develop a customized Korean life cycle cost analysis model estimating various effects on road users and socio-environmental costs based on pavement condition. The suggested LCCA model focused on Korean national highway, and tried to adopt a national guideline recommended by Korean government for securing credibility of estimation results. In the development processes, some of the suggestions that do not fit well in the situations of pavement management field were added, altered, or partially modified. These attempts to develop customized asset management system would be an important step to break away from passive attitudes relying on ready-made software, but also to improve awareness about the social benefits from the better maintenance strategy.

Estimation of Urban Traffic State Using Black Box Camera (차량 블랙박스 카메라를 이용한 도시부 교통상태 추정)

  • Traffic states in urban areas are essential to implement effective traffic operation and traffic control. However, installing traffic sensors on numerous road sections is extremely expensive. Accordingly, estimating the traffic state using a vehicle-mounted camera, which shows a high penetration rate, is a more effective solution. However, the previously proposed methodology using object tracking or optical flow has a high computational cost and requires consecutive frames to obtain traffic states. Accordingly, we propose a method to detect vehicles and lanes by object detection networks and set the region between lanes as a region of interest to estimate the traffic density of the corresponding area. The proposed method only uses less computationally expensive object detection models and can estimate traffic states from sampled frames rather than consecutive frames. In addition, the traffic density estimation accuracy was over 90% on the black box videos collected from two buses having different characteristics.

The Land Use-Transportation Model with Taste Heterogeneity (행태의 다양성을 고려한 토지이용 - 교통모형의 개발)

  • 1960년 초부터 토지이용과 교통의 상관관계를 계량적으로 설명하고자 하는 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 이러한 연구는 경제이론을 배경으로 하여 개발된 McKinnon-Type 모형과 Mills-Type 모형, 그리고 경제학이 반영되어있지 않은 Lowry-Type 모형으로 크게 대별할 수 있다. 이제까지의 이러한 연구는 각 가정의 주거입지선정과 직장선정에 있어서 취향의 다양성(taste heterogeneity)을 고려하여 있지않고 있어 본 연구에서는 로짓모형을 이용하여 Alonso(1964) 모형을 더욱 발전시켜 토지이용-교통의 일반균형 모형(general equilibrium model)을 개발하였다. 이 통계적 토지이용-교통모형은 완전 경쟁하의 일반균형상태에서 주택임대료, 노동력임금, 상품가격이 내생적으로 산출되어지며, 동시에 효율적인 교통체계하에서 일반균형상태의 생산량과 생산부지 그리고 주거수와 주거부지가 어떻게 분배되는지를 내생적으로 결정한다. 이논문에서 효율적인 교통체계라함은 해당 죤에서 도로에 사용된 토지의 임대료가 교통체증비용의 전통행량에 대한 합과 동일하도록 하는 최적교통체증정도(optimal congestion level)을 유지할 수 있는 도로체계를 뜻한다. 또한 비효율적 교통체계하에서는 토지 이용에 왜곡이 생겨서 전체적 비용의 상승으로 각 국민 혹은 각 주민이 생활에서 얻을 수 있는 효용가치가 떨어짐을 분석할 수도 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 교통사고 데이터베이스 구축을 통해 교통사교 현황과 사고 당시의 여러 정황들을 파악할 수 있는 정보를 제공한다. 이 정보들에는 사고 당시의 기상상태, 도로형태, 차종, 연령, 성별 등의 데이터들이 포함되고 이러한 정보들을 바탕으로 데이터베이스 사용자들은 각 사고 별 종합적인 정보를 얻을 수 있다. 이를 통해 정부 당국 외에 보험사 등에 교통사고 관련 정책을 위한 유용한 정보들을 제공할 수 있다. 또한 운전자 개인들에게도 정보들을 제공해 교통사고를 보다 효율적으로 예방할 수 있다.

  • 건설산업은 국가발전의 초기 단계에서 유통망의 확보 및 제조시설의 확보과정에서 대단히 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 현재 우리나라는 국가 도로망의 정비가 일정수준이상 진행된 상태이며, 제조시설 역시 IMF이후 시설 투자가 감소하면서 건설경기가 침체되어 있는 것이 사실이다. 따라서 대규모의 건설현장은 감소하고 소규모의 도로망 확장공사 및 공동주택 재개발등이 건설경기의 맥을 겨우 잇고 있는 것이 현실이다. 건설경기의 침체와 더불어 안전시설 투자와 안전관리의 공동화현상이 빚어지고 있으며 이로 인해 안전사고가 급증하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 안전시설투자에 대한 부담을 줄이고 안전교육의 효율을 극대화함으로써 안전사고를 예방할 수 있는 방법을 연구 하고자 한다.(중략)

Formalization of Productivity Metrics for Equipment in Multi-sectioned Road Construction Projects (다(多)공구 도로 공사 현장 장비들의 운영 실태 파악을 위한 생산성 지표 정립에 관한 연구)

  • Large road construction projects are typically partitioned into sections that are then contracted individually to contractors. Each section requires using similar heavy equipment including excavators, dump trucks and pavers, which constitute the highest cost. Normally the equipment is not shared between them, as each contractor wishes to have their equipment readily available. However, such practices result in very low utilization of these equipment. The goal of this research is to develop a programmatic resource sharing system in which contractors can share equipment depending on the changing needs of a multi-sectioned road project. This paper introduces the results of a survey performed to investigate how contractors currently manage the supply and demand of equipment and the equipment that are practical for sharing across a project. More importantly, the paper describes a set of metrics (DPR, nDPR, SDI) needed to quantify the amount of supply/demand variance occurring in each section. The metrics were used on an actual road construction project, and the results show that each section suffers from an imbalance between its monthly planned and actual utilization of equipment. The results also indicate that the sharing of the equipment can lead to potentially large savings as equipment requirements can be met within a project as to short leasing from outside vendors.

Analyses on the Impact of Plastic Deformation on Change of the Road Surface Condition (소성변형 정도를 고려한 시간전개에 따른 노면상태 변화 분석)

  • In this study analyzed the ponding changing of plastic deformation section follwed time development to apply weather, geometry and traffic data in additon to time development to improve road management service and safety of roads during or after rain. After We selected an 8.3km section of old national highway the Seongnam-Janghowon section and created a three-demensional surface of terrain through the numerical transformantion of design drawing data, with reflection the linear data of the same coordinate system in order to describe more realistic roads, we design additional structures with shading above roads. The altitude and azimuth of the sun were calculated and set based on the longitude and latitude data of the survey line for the analysis of the sun rate, and the daylight impact zone was visualized by setting the shaded time to an interval of 1 hour and the shade rate of the corresponding section. In addition, the evaporation volume calculated from weather data such as temperature, humidity, radiant energy, and road temperature analyzes together, it will use the way of a safer and more efficient road management as grasping the ponding changing more efficent in time development.

  • According to the economic growth, many highways are constructed for increasing need of better life style. Especially roads and roadside facilities are used for accident prevention and offering mobility for drivers. For these purpose, roads and roadside facilities should be well maintained and managed. Now, many roads and roadside facilities are constructed in many areas. Because of traditional surveying method requires much time and surveying efforts, we designed and developed mobile mapping system for highway maintenance and management purpose using multi sensors. We tested our mobile mapping system and data management process. Using developed database, road managers can easily check the information of facility conditions, positions, and attributes. We are expecting low cost and efficient road maintenance process by using our system.
