Compared to previous in-vitro test, FE model showed reliable motion patterns. A finite element model of a 50th percentile male neck was developed to study the mechanics of whiplash injury while the rear impacts. The model was consisted of the whole cervical vertebrae including part of occipital, intervertebral discs. which were modeled using linear viscoelastic materials and posterior elements. The sliding interfaces were defined to simulate contact phenomena in facet joints and in odontoid process. All ligaments and atlanto-occipital membrane were modeled as nonlinear bar elements. Only muscle elements were not considered. Motion of each cervical vertebra was obtained from the dynamic simulation with a MADYMO model for 15 km/h $40\%$ rear end offset impacts. Soft tissue neck injury(STNI) was investigated with a developed FE model. In FE model analysis, the high stress was appeared at C3/C4 disc in offset impact. Further research is still needed in order to improve the developed neck FE model for many different crash patterns.

The purpose of this study is to produce an essential guideline for making costumes for traditional Korean mask plays by doing a comparative analysis between traditional Korean mask plays and Italian 'Commedia dell'arte'. The results of this study are as follow. The costumes of Korea's mask plays were mainly used to show difference in social status. Analysis showed that costume features, such as color, fabric, and silhouette, were not important to the traits of the character. On the other hand, the costumes in the Italian 'Commedia dell'arte' were used to express the characters' traits. The colors, fabric and silhouettes were exaggerated compared to everyday wear. This enhanced the looks of the character, and it kept on developing with the demands of the culture consumer. This study was performed to support further development and success of traditional Korean mask plays.

Scholarly information has increased tremendously according to the development of IT, especially the Internet. However, simultaneously, people have to spend more time and exert more effort because of information overload. There have been many research efforts in the field of expert systems, data mining, and information retrieval, concerning a system that recommends user-expected information items through presumption. Recently, the hybrid system combining a content-based recommendation system and collaborative filtering or combining recommendation systems in other domains has been developed. In this paper we resolved the problem of the current recommendation system and suggested a new system combining collaborative filtering and Naive Bayes Classification. In this way, we resolved the over-specialization problem through collaborative filtering and lack of assessment information or recommendation of new contents through Naive Bayes Classification. For verification, we applied the new model in NDSL's paper service of KISTI, especially papers from journals about Sitology and Electronics, and witnessed high satisfaction from 4 experimental participants.

KBA, 하이델베르그, 만로랜드, 고모리, 미쓰비시 등 유수의 인쇄기 제조회사들이 전용 모뎀이나 인터넷 등의 네트워크를 통한 원격진단(Romote diagnostics) 서비스를 운영하고 있다. 이 서비스는 각 제조사가 보유하고 있는 네트워크를 통해 담당 기술자와 인쇄기 오퍼레이터가 온라인으로 연결, 서비스맨의 방문 없이도 인쇄기 A/S를 구현할 수 있도록 하는 시스템이다. 최근 들어 이 시스템은 발생한 문제를 해결하는 것에 그치지 않고 인쇄기의 상태를 점검함으로써 고장을 사전에 예방을 하는 방법으로 진화하고 있다. 이 시스템이 미국에서 어떻게 활용되고 있는지를 살펴보고, 국내에 진출한 대표적인 업체들의 서비스 준비상황을 점검해 본다.

본 연구에서는 난류모델로는 기존의 K-.epsilon.모델과 LPS방법으로 수정된 K-.epsilon. 모 델을, 수치적 Scheme으로는 Hybrid Difference Scheme과 Skew-upwind Difference Sc- heme을 사용하여 그 결과를 각각 비교하였다.

Hyperthermia를 사용하여 종양세포를 치료하는데 있어서 시간에 따른 동적 온도분포를 추정하 고 또, 그 온도분포에 관계하는 인자들이 동적 온도특성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 것은 실제 치료시에 정확한 온도제어를 위해서 반드시 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 몸속 10cm 깊이에 존재하는 원통형 종양모 델을 설정하고 초음파 동심환 변환기로 열을 집속시켰을 때 동적 온도분포 추정을 위해서 2차원 유한요 소법과 유한차분법을 이용하였다. 결과로서, 동적 온도분포에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 인자는 혈류량이었 고, 추출된 동적 온도분포 특성값을 가지고 간단한 ON/OFF 온도제어에 적용할 수 있음을 보였다.

본논문에서는 Hidden Markov Model 에 기초한 실시간 고립 단어 인식 시스템에서의 Viterbi 알 고리듬을 위한 전용 VLSI 구조를 제안하였다. 제안된 구조는 듀얼포트 레지스터 파일로 입출력 부하를 줄이고 가산-최소/최대 연산부의 병렬 연산 구조를 이용하여 실시간 동작이 가능하도록 설계되었다. 모 델 인자와 상태 변수의 값에 태그들을 덧붙임으로써 이 구조는 대표적인 HMM 구조들을 쉽게 구현할 수 있다.
