A description of SGML(Standard Generalized Markup Language) is given together with a detailed description of WIPO Standard ST.32. The benefits of the use of SGML are highlighted-its system Independence and flexibility in building publication systems and full-text databases. A structure of WIPO Standard ST,32 based patent content is defined by DTD(document type definition) written in ST.32, and full-text itself is described with generalized markup depending on DTD. This article explains how to represent a document structure : a hierarchy structure like a entire document, a specific, sub-document, a paragraph, or non-hirarchy structure like a table drawings, or chemical structures. Merits of SGML In patent document processing are also discussed.

Biodiversity informatics applies information technology methods in organizing, accessing, visualizing, and analyzing primary biodiversity data and quantitative data management through the scientific names of accepted names and synonyms. We reviewed the GBIF data published by China, Japan, Taiwan, and internal institutes, such as NIBR, NIE, and KNA of the Republic of Korea, and assessed data in diverse aspects of data quality using BRAHMS software. Most data from four Asian countries have quality problems with the lack of data consistency and missing information on georeferenced data, collectors, collection date, and place names (gazetteers) or other invalid data forms. The major problem is that biodiversity management institutions in East Asia are using unstructured databases and simple spreadsheet-type data. Owing to the nature of the biodiversity information, if data relationships are not structured, it would be impossible to secure the data integrity of scientific names, human names, geographical names, literature, and ecological information. For data quality, it is essential to build data integrity for database management and training systems for taxonomists who are continuous data managers to correct errors. Thus, publishers in East Asia play an essential role not only in using specialized software to manage biodiversity data but also in developing structured databases and ensuring their integration and value within biodiversity publishing platforms.

Recent research on integrated and peer-to-peer databases has produced new methods for handling various types of shared-group and process data. This paper with data publishing, where the publisher needs to specify certain sensitive information that should be protected. The proposed method cannot infer the user's sensitive information is leaked by XML constraints. In addition, the proposed secure framework uses encrypt to prevent the leakage of sensitive information from authorized users. In this framework, each node of sensitive data in an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) document is encrypted separately. All of the encrypted data are moved from their original document, and are bundled with an encrypted structure index. Our experiments show that the proposed framework prevents information being leaked via data inference.

A marketing platform based on the legal deposit system was designed. It is an e-book distribution platform that systematically binds library networks nationwide by linking with the National Library's deposit system to complete the existing paper that the library should become a publishing platform. The purpose is to bundle e-books into a distribution space and naturally assemble readers to serve as virtual platforms for domestic publishers, authors, bookstores, and platforms running various publishing / subscribing services. The premise is not a sale of e-books, but a rental concept, but the platform is valid regardless. In addition, the platform takes the form of social cooperatives to represent the interests of all members involved in publishing services. The lead-based distribution platform is the most ideal business model to compromise with reality. Conceptually, the service of the publishing content-related industry is a model in which all content is supplied from the lead-bone system, which is a collaborative space, and technically, the central e-book database controls the flow of all content, but the publishing content-related industry takes the form of controlling its flow through virtual.

This study attempts to compare the National Library of Korea (NLK)'s cataloging in publication(CIP) records with their permanent records in the National Library of Korea(NLK)'s online public access catalogue(OPAC) database. This study compares the description of records in the NLK CIP versus NLK OPAC in terms of similarities and differences in the bibliographic elements for each record. The study selected the NLK's CIP records from November to December 2008, allowing to publish the registered CIP titles and also the NLK to make the records avaliable in their OPAC database. The finding indicate that libraries that use NLK's CIP records in their copy cataloging activity should not rely 100 per cent on the records. Verifications and modifications need to be carried out to ensure accuracy and quality of their catalogue records.

XML has already been settled down as a standard for the exchange of commercial data on the web. Though most institutions have a wish to use XML document as an EDI form for all sorts of document exchange, it is unfortune that previous commercial data is still saved in the relational form of data base. Therefore, it is necessary that data saved in the relational form of data base be transformed into XML document form for the better use of document exchange. In order to transform relational form of data base to XML, one solution is to publish XML document by way of mapping each field of the relational form of data base table onto XML. However, in the case of building one XML document out of more i~km two data base tables, a join should be performed since a mere mapping associated with DTD tan not solve the problem. In this paper, we build the view for the XML in which alignments generated from the join are presented. and then through this view the contents with the relational form of data base should be transformed into XML. Briefly speaking, This paper aims to propose algorithm concerned with this transformation and to realize it.

This paper considers the nature of a digital library in terms of definitions and its technical environment It also explores some of the problems and issues involved in demanding and supplying information So current publishing systems and the library resources were investigated. The relative advantages of both electronic and paper journals are also briefly considered and it is suggested that research relating to build the full text database is required. Finally it considers the innovative management technology such as TQM, Business Process Reengineering to innovative library itself.

본 연구에서는 학술정보의 효율적 관리 및 서비스 체제를 수립하고 활용성을 강화하기 위해 논문 자동 수집 및 구축, 논문 투고 및 심사, 전자출판, XML 자동 구축에 이르기까지 전주기 기능 구현에 방안을 제시하고 이를 구현한 사례를 소개하고자 한다. 기존 Peer-Review 시스템은 데이터 수집 및 변환파트와 투고 및 심사, 전자출판 파트, XML 구축 파트 등으로 분리되거나 별도로 운영되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 기능을 통합적으로 구현하기 위해 KISTI의 Peer-Review 시스템인 ACOMS와 XML 기반 학술정보서비스 시스템(KpubS) 기능 및 프로세스를 통합한 구현 방안을 제시하고 이를 시스템으로 구현하였다. 그러나 아직까지 원문 PDF를 XML로 완전 자동 변환할 수 있는 기술은 없는 상태로써 반자동 변환 기능을 탑재하였다. 본 연구 내용은 다양한 수집 채널을 통해 입수된 학술정보 및 XML 자료에 대한 입력체계를 제공하고, XML 본문으로부터 메타데이터를 자동 식별 및 추출하여 학술정보 DB를 구축 저장하며, 구축된 DB 및 XML 기반의 전자출판 기능 제공과 함께 웹서비스 단계까지의 전주기 공정에 대한 프로세스 모델 및 시스템에 관한 것이다. 이에 데이터베이스 구축을 위한 시간 및 비용을 절감할 수 있을뿐만 아니라, 시맨틱 태깅 및 수식, 표, 그림 정보 제공 등 이용자에게 다양한 형태의 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 되었다.

본 연구는 사용자들이 이동시에도 유무선 인터넷을 통해 모바일 단말기를 통해 데이터베이스에 접근할 수 있도록 제공한다. 이를 위해 별도의 노력 없이 유선 인터넷과 무선 인터넷간에 일관된 정보들이 제공되므로 이동시에도 관련 업무 정보들을 즉시 접근할 수 있다. 본 시스템은 XML 생성기, ML 생성기와 출판기 세 가지 부시스템으로 구성된다. 본 연구의 견과는 기업간 m-커머스로부터 보험, 영업, 판매, 택배 등 다양한 서비스 분야에서 기업이나 기관들의 생산성을 높이는데 중요한 역할을 담당할 것으로 기대된다.
