The feature models representing the common and variable concepts among the software products and the feature configurations generated by selecting the features to be included in the target product are the essential components in the software product lines methodology. Although the researches on the formal semantics and reasoning of the feature models and feature configurations are in progress, the researches on feature model ontologies and feature configuration validation using the semantic web technologies are yet insufficient. This paper defines the formal semantics of the feature models and proposes a feature configuration validation technique based on ontology and semantic web technologies. OWL(Web Ontology Language), a semantic web standard language, is used to represent the knowledge in the feature models and the feature configurations. SWRL(Semantic Web Rule Language), a semantic web rule languages, is used to define the rules to validate the feature configurations. The approach in this paper provides the formal semantic of the feature models, automates the validation of feature configurations, and enables the application of various semantic web technologies, such as SQWRL.
Currently various techniques for efficiently developing sensor network applications are developed. However, these techniques provide the method for developing only single sensor network application easily and rapidly. Since sensor network applications control various sensor nodes based on core components of operating system, the technique to develop applications by defining common functionalities of various applications and selecting variable functionalities according to the work flow of specific application is efficient. Accordingly, this paper presents an experimental study that identifies commonality of sensor network application domain and supports optional development according to the variability of application by applying product line approach to developing sensor network application. Through the experimental study, we describe the characteristics of sensor network application domain compared with general business domain for product line development. Also, we show the effectiveness of the proposed approach by presenting that core assets designed using the proposed variability feature model and VEADL are reused according to the functionalities of each sensor node.
Recently a lot of researches on the component-based software product lines and on applying generative programming into software product lines are being performed actively. This paper proposes an automatic component reconfiguration tool that could be applied in constructing the component-based software product lines. Our tool accepts the reuser's requirement via a feature model which is the main result of the domain engineering, and makes the feature configuration from this requirement. Then it generates the source code of the reconfigured component according to this feature configuration. To accomplish this process, the component family in our tool should have the architecture of GenVoca that is one of the most influential generative programming approaches. In addition, XSLT scripts provide the code templates for implementation elements which are the ingredients of the target component. Taking the ‘Bank Account' component family as our example, we showed that our component reconfiguration tool produced automatically the component source code that the reuser wants to create. The result of this paper would be applied extensively for creasing the productivity of building the software product lines.
Business entities with which most service components interact are kind of cross-cutting concerns in a multi-layered distributed application architecture. When business entities are modified, service components related to them should also be modified, even though they implement common functions of the application framework. This paper proposes what we call DTT (Data Type-Tolerant) component model to process the variability of business entities, or externalized data, which feature modern application architectures. The DTT component model expresses the data variability of product lines at the implementation level by means of SCDTs (Self-Contained Data Types) and variation point interfaces. The model improves the efficiency of application engineering through data type converters which support type conversion between SCDTs and business entities of particular applications. The value of this model lies in that data and functions are coupled locally in each component again by allowing service components to deal with SCDTs only instead of externalized business eutities.

The surface roughness and heat transfer enhancement devices are known to increase the performance of a flat plate soar collector. This study includes the experiments on the effect of the several heat transfer enhancement devices inserted in duct to simulate the flat-plate solar collector. Experiment was basically at a constant heat flux on the upper duct wall. Inserted heat transfer enhancement devices are Chamfered rib $10^{\circ}$, Chamfered rib $20^{\circ}$, Rib & Groove and Rib & Dimple. Reynolds number is in the range of 2,300 to 22,000 which corresponds to turbulent regime. With the heat transfer enhancement devices, heat transfer would increase by the secondary flow and the increase of the heat transfer area. Pressure drop also increases with the insertion of the enhancement devices. Rib & Dimple model is the best in heat transfer enhancement, however, Chamfered rib $10^{\circ}$ model is the lowest in the pressure drop. Considering the heat transfer enhancement simultaneously with low pressure drop increase, performance factor was the best for the Chamfered rib $10^{\circ}$.

In this paper, the effect of interconnected boundary between journal and thrust bearings on the performance of self-acting air-lubricated bearings is investigated. When journal and thrust bearings have common boundary, conventional boundary condition which assumes that the boundary pressure is equal to atmosphere is no more valid. Instead, new boundary condition by mass conservation at interconnected boundary is needed. To do this, a duct model satisfying mass conservation at interconnected boundary is developed. Using this model, pressure distribution at interconnected boundary is numerically analyzed with changing the volume of interconnecting part. As a result, it is shown that load capacity of thrust bearing can be greatly increased when journal and thrust have a common boundary.

In this study, gas turbine engine inlet duct was designed to satisfy uniform flow at aerodynamic interface plane (AIP). Haack-series was selected as nose cone profile and duct outer radius($r_o$) was designed to satisfy to match with area change rate between the nose cone and outer duct wall by the 1-D sizing. The design object of the inlet duct wall profile which has the gradual area change rate was uniform Mach number in the core flow region and minimum boundary later thickness at the both inner nose wall and outer duct wall. The flow characteristics inside the inlet duct was evaluated using CFD. The static pressure distribution at the AIP showed uniform pattern within 0.16%. Based on Mach number profile, the boundary layer thickness was 2% of channel height. Kiel temperature rake location was decided less than 100 mm in front of nose cone where the Mach number is less than 0.1 in order to maximize the temperature probe recovery rate.
