The Role and Function of Academic Library to Support Cyber Education Successfully (가상교육의 성공적 지원을 위한 대학도서관의 역할 및 기능)

  • Academic libraries need to support effectively cyber education which should be managed successfully. When the information materials and library services for distance learners are supported efficiently, they can maximize learning effects. This study explored the role and function of academic libraries that seek to support cyber education successfully through previous foreign studies and presented the elements of the librarian, library service, digital library, library administration and policy that academic libraries must consider to support cyber education successfully.

  • 21세기 지식기반사회에서 뿐만 아니라, 대학은 어느 나라 어느 시대이건 간에 그 국가의 중추적 역할을 담당해 왔다. 대학의 역할은 존재하지 않는 것을 창조할 수 있어야 한다는 전제하에, 이 역할의 실현을 위해서 대학구성원은 자신이 맡은 바 책무성을 보다 강화하여야 할 것이고, 국가는 대학운영의 자율권을 적극 보장해 주어야 할 것이며, 사회나 기업은 대학의 판단을 존중하고 우리 대학이 선진대학이 될 수 있도록 적극 지원해 주어야 할 것이다. 여기서는 우리가 고등교육 강국으로 거듭나기 위해 새 정부에 바라는 정책을 제언하도록 한다.

An Analysis on the Effect of the University in Area Development (대학이 지역발전에 미치는 영향 -천안시를 중심으로-)

  • This study dealt with the effect of the university in area development to Cheonan city. This study ran parallel literature investigation and actual proof investigation. Questionnaires 394 enforce frequency analysis in SPSS 15.0 versions. University positive effect on local community is smooth supply of human capital in local community, increase of regional income, improvement of area image by expanded education opportunities, supply of various university facilities in local communities etc. Contradictory effect is expansion of gap for areas that young persons in local community taken to education of good quality leave other local community, occurrence of conflict by collision of new culture and culture of area characteristic. Role of university for area development is role of help consultation, symbolic role, educational role etc. But the weighed role is leading role which university leads area development. Finally, the prompting methods of university for local community development .must accomplish interchange of operational mode with high quality human resources activating removal of manpower between arithmetic.

A Study on the Roles of Entrepreneurial Universities in Science Park Development: A Case Study on Zhongguancun in Beijing (사이언스파크에서 기업가적 대학의 역할에 대한 연구: 북경 중관촌 지역 사례)

  • The cases of entrepreneurial universities who conduct enterprisers like activities are increasing continuously in these days. Entrepreneurial activities by universities include university enterprises establishment and management, direct and indirect investment, incubating startup businesses, and diverse university-industry cooperation. In this study, the roles and contributions of universities in the development of science parks are explored with a case of Zhongguancun in Beijing. In particular, the roles of four universities such as Peking, Tsinghua, Renmin, and Chinese Academy of Science were intensively focused and investigated. Interpretive case research methodology was adopted for this study and in-depth interview and secondary data analysis methods were used for the investigation. The result of this study suggests that universities can do essential roles in the development of science parks and can contribute to the development and growth of science parks through proactive and direct economic activities as well as traditional and defensive university-industry cooperation.
