Dual-Mode Balanced Filter in Symmetric Composite Right/Left-Handed Transmission Line Structure (CRLH 전송선로 대칭구조의 이중모드 평형 필터)

  • In this paper, a dual-mode balanced filter with symmetric coupled composite right/left-handed transmission line is introduced. Unlike the other symmetric structure, this configuration has the ability to operate under both common- and differential-mode excitation. These properties are achievable through providing physical short circuit by means of ground vias at the center of each unit-cell along the symmetry plane of the structure. Because the CRLH unit-cells are operated under both common- and differential-mode excitation, we implemented a balanced filter using these properties. To validity these features, a five-cell four port coupled CRLH-TL is simulated, fabricated and measured and the obtained performances agree with the simulation results under both common- and differential-mode excitation.

  • 두개의 유니모프 진동자를 이용한 새로운 형상의 마이크로 초음파 리니어 모터를 제안하였다. 유니모프 진동자는 금속판에 판상의 압전소자가 접착되어 있으며, 두개의 유니모프 진동자가 삼각형상의 진동 커플러에 의해 연결되어 스테이터를 구성한다. 스테이터는 두 가지 진동모드(대칭모드와 비 대칭모드)를 가지고 있으며, 이 두 진동모드가 축퇴되도록 설계하였다. 스테이터의 대칭모드와 비 대칭모드를 위상차 $90^{\circ}$로 여진시킴으로써 이동체의 직선(또는 회전) 운동을 발생시킬 수 있다. 시작기 모터는 놀이 0.9 mm, 폭 1 mm, 길이 7.5 mm이며, 구동전압 $100V_{op}$, 구동주파수 300 kHz로 구동되어, 모터 최대속도 0.3 m/s, 최대 추력 6 mN을 달성하였다.

  • This paper was conducted on analytical solution using superposition and FEM analysis in the free vibration analysis of rectangular plates under uniform thermal loadings. Materials of three rectangular plates were aluminum, steel and stainless-steel respectively. Applied temperature conditions were from room temperature to $300^{\circ}C$ and boundary condition was free-free condition. Fully symmetric mode(FSM), fully antisymmetric mode(FASM) and symmetric-antisymmetric mode(SAM) were analyzed.

  • Hybrid rocket combustion displays low frequency instability(LFI, 10~30Hz) at a certain condition. Vortex shedding in the post-chamber is suspected to cause the occurrence of LFI. This study focused on the visualization of flow image using light emissions from high temperature combustion gas. Results shows that combustion pressure oscillates at a frequency of about 18 Hz, which is in phase with oscillations of light emission. Since LFI is not a property of thermo-acoustic instability, this result suggested there exists a physical coupling of pressure fluctuations with light emissions proportional to chemical reaction. Also POD analysis shows that dominant symmetric spatial modes in the stable combustion shift suddenly into asymmetric spatial pattern with the appearance of LFI. Especially, the appearance of mode 3 is a typical change of flow dynamics in unstable combustion representing a rotational fluid motions associated with vortex shedding.

  • According to longer and longer span, dynamic instability of stay cable should be prevented. Dynamic instability occurs mainly symmetric 1st mode and antisymmetric 1st mode in stay cable. Especially symmetric 1st mode has a lot of influence on sag. Therefore fundamental frequency of stay cable is different from that of taut sting. Irvine, Triantafyllou, Ahn etc. analyzed dynamic behavior of taut cable with sag through analytical technical and their researches give important results for large bounds of Irvine parameter. But each research shows mutually different values out of characteristic (cross-over or mode-coupled) point and each solution of frequency equations of all researchers can be very difficultly found because of their very high non-linearity. Presented study focuses on fundamental frequency of stay cable. Generalized mechanical energy with symmetric 1st mode vibration shape satisfied boundary conditions is evolved by Rayleigh-Ritz method. It is possible to give linear analytic solution within characteristic point. Error by this approach shows only below 3% at characteristic point against existing researches. And taut cable don't exceed characteristic point. I.e. high accuracy, easy solving techniques, and a little bit limitations. Therefore presented study can be announced that it is good study ergonomically.

  • The higher mode cutoff frequencies in Crawford TEM cells computed by the Galerkin method(GM) describe in this paper. The authors also report the half mode boundaries to solve not only the cut-off frequencies of symmetric TEM cells and those of asymmetric TEM cells. It is shown that the measured resonant frequencies of the present symmetric TEM cells and a designed asymmetric TEM cell are agreed with the calculated results.

  • The cut-off frequencies of higher order modes in a symmetrical stripline are calculated using the variational finite element method combined with the conformal mapping. The conformal mapping is used to Improve the modeling of the infinite transverse extents of a stripline. And then the finite element method is employed to solve the variational equation in the transformed finite region. Comparisons with numerical results found in the literature validate the presented method.

  • In this paper, the spectral domain approach is employed to investigate the characteristics of symmetrical and asymmetrical broadside-coupleed coplanar waveguides(BSC-CPW). These structures have large even(c)-odd(.pi.) mode-velocity ratio, suitable for wide-band and tight-coupling microwave circuit design. Efficient design parameters can be obtained from the effective dielectric constants and characteristic impedances calculated by varying the strip widths and slot widths in the BSC-CPW structure.

  • 2차원 슬랩 형태의 단일 결함 레이저는 낮은 발진 문턱값과 작은 모드 부피로 인해 문턱 없는 레이저의 동작 가능성, 광자 집적 회로에서의 광원 소자 등으로 각광을 받고 있다. 광결정은 결정 구조에 따라 삼각격자와 사각격자로 나눌 수 있는데, 특히 삼각격자의 경우 사각격자에 비해 밴드갭이 보다 넓은 주파수 영역에 걸쳐 나타나므로, 공진기와 도파로서의 응용에 더 적합한 소재로 연구되고 있다. 2차원 삼각구조 단일 결함 광결정은 60$^{\circ}$회전에 대하여 대칭성을 가지므로, 군론에 따라 기본적으로 60$^{\circ}$,120$^{\circ}$,180$^{\circ}$,360$^{\circ}$의 회전 대칭성을 가지고 있는 네 종류의 모드가 존재한다.   • 이중층 그래핀(graphene)의 한쪽 표면에 전하를 주입하면 반전 대칭(inversion symmetry)이 깨지며 라만-비활성 진동모드가 활성화되면서 라만 G-봉우리 부근에 새로운 봉우리가 나타난다고 알려져 있다. 삼중층 그래핀은 그래핀이 적층되는 방식에 따라 ABA (Bernal), ABC (rhombohedral) 그래핀으로 나뉘며, ABC 그래핀은 ABA와는 달리 반전 대칭성을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 화학적인 방법을 이용하여 ABC 그래핀의 반전 대칭을 제어하고 그에 따른 라만 스펙트럼의 변화를 탐구하였다. ABA 그래핀과는 달리 이중층 그래핀과 ABC 그래핀에서는 저진공 열처리 또는 요오드 흡착반응을 한 후에 G-봉우리 부근에서 새로운 봉우리가 나타나는 것을 관찰하였고, 전하밀도 정도가 증가 할수록 G-봉우리와 새로운 봉우리의 위치 차이는 증가하는 것을 관찰하였다. 물과 메탄올에 의한 세척 반응으로부터 열처리는 복층 그래핀과 기판 계면에 그리고 요오드 흡착은 그래핀의 상단표면에 잉여 전하를 유발하여 반전 대칭을 깨트린다는 사실을 확인하였다. 또한 G-봉우리와 새로운 봉우리의 진동수 차이가 반전 대칭을 유발한 전하밀도의 그래디언트에 대한 척도가 될 가능성을 제시하였다.
