At the present study, it was aimed to explore the states of antimicrobial resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolates from 1,360 chickens, pigs and cattle carcass (400 chickens, 480 pigs and 480 cattle) in Daegu province from January 2022 to December 2022. Among 1,360 samples, 81 of S. aureus were isolated cattle (1.4%), pigs (7.7%) and chickens (9.2%). In antimicrobial susceptibility test, all of the isolates were demonstrated susceptibility to rifampin. But the isolates were showed resistance other antibiotics in order of tetracycline (62.9%), ciprofloxacin (62.9%), tobramycin (58.0%), gentamicin (51.8%), amikacin (40.7%), penicillin (39.5%), clindamycin (35.8%), enrofloxacin (33.3%), trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (30.8%), oxacillin (30.8%), minocycline (29.6%), erythromycin (25.9%), quinupristin/dalfopristin (20.9%), chloramphenicol (12.3%), cefoxitin (9.8%). Among the 81 S. aureus isolates, 25 (30.8%) methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were observed. Seven (28.0%) of 25 MRSA harbored mecA gene. About 96% of MRSA were multidrug resistance to at least 3 more drugs. A continuous monitoring and surveillance program to prevent antimicrobial resistance in livestock products is demanded.

Objectives: The hazardous heavy metal contents of cosmetics were investigated and the resulting values were compared by type of cosmetics: skin care preparations (SCP), hair preparations (HP), makeup preparations (MP), and eye makeup preparations (EMP). Methods: The hazardous heavy metal contents (Pb, As, Cd, Sb, Ni and Hg) were analyzed for 358 cosmetics products (187 SCP, 82 HP, 56 MP, and 33 EMP). Hg was measured by the amalgamation method, and other hazardous heavy metals were measured by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) after decomposition using the microwave method. Results: The mean contents of Pb, As, Cd, Sb, Ni, and Hg in cosmetics were 0.424, 0.068, 0.024, 0.398, $0.567{\mu}/g$, and Not Detected, respectively. All of the hazardous heavy metals were detected in most products, but below the recommended maximums of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The level of Cd was the lowest at 14.8%, and Sb was the highest at 41.2%. Pb, Sb and Ni showed the highest mean value and detection rate in EMP. As, Cd, and Hg showed the highest in SCP, HP, and MP, respectively. Conclusion: Hazardous heavy metals were detected in most products. In particular, Pb, Sb, and Ni were broadly detected in EMP, meaning more stringent quality control is required.

Objectives: This study evaluated the odor around an industrial complex area (#1-#5) and the operational effects of the Odor Monitoring System in Seo-gu in Daegu City. Methods: Samples were collected from November 2012 to December 2018 and were analyzed for complex odor. The odor occurrence rate and the odor reduction rate were calculated. Results: In 2018, the mean concentration of complex odor decreased 20.9% and the odor occurrence rate decreased from 65.0 to 27.5% around the industrial complex area (#1-#5) in Seo-gu compared to 2013. After the operation of the Odor Monitoring System, the standard excess rate (3.0%→40.8%) and the excess concentration of complex odor (1,442→4,304) increased at odor-emitting workplaces. In addition, the mean concentration of complex odor (15.9%) and the odor occurrence rate (60.6%→32.9%) around the industrial complex area (#1-#5) and the number of odor complaints (23.4%) in Seo-gu decreased. Conclusion: In order to reduce the odor around the industrial complex area, it is important to improve the odor emitting facilities. The Odor Monitoring System uses scientific and systematic monitoring methods that can help control and manage the odor emission facilities.

The purpose of this study was to determine a suitable site using GIS for solar energy harvesting for an administrative district in Daegu, which aims at becoming a solar-powered city. From this result, the ecological housing complex was planned on a solar theme in the real site. For this analysis, various indicators and standards were selected based on previous studies and the indicators were divided into the location, exclusion, and class condition. The results showed that the suitable area was $153.95km^2$ and 17.6% for Daegu area, and the highest suitable area appeared to Dalseong-gun. Finally, using suitable site analysis results, we selected the site of Sinseo housing area in Dong-gu and we planned the ecological housing complex for solar energy. This study can be used as base data for the Daegu solar business and its establishment by considering various indicators for analysis of suitable areas in solar energy. Also, the result of the ecological housing complex plan would be helpful in promoting Daegu as a solar-powered city.

대구광역시 문희갑 시장은, 특별한 경우를 제외하고는 걸어서 출퇴근하기를 좋아한다. 건강에도 도움이 되고 교통난 해소에도 조금이나마 보탬이 되기를 바라는 마음에서다. 그는 그렇게 작은 일에도 솔선수범하는 자세로 평생을 걸어왔다. 그 덕분인지, 그의 경력 중에는 타의 모범이 되어야 하는 ‘대표’, ‘단장’이라는 단어가 많이 등장한다. 경제 · 정치 · 교육 등 모든 분야에서 탁원할 능력을 가진 문시장은, 최소한 먹고 입는 문제, 자녀 교육, 의료만큼은 보장되는, 그래서 서민 모두가 더불어 사는 공동체로서의 대구광역시를 만들기 위해 각 분야에서 다각적인 정책을 수립 · 추진하고 있다.

This study analyzes the regional industrial policies of Daegu based on previous discussions on the concepts and characteristics of regional industrial policies in Korea. Because of the institutional limitations of regional industrial policies in Korea, the industrial policies of Daegu are more government-led in planning and promoting industrial development. In addition, regional industrial policies have been established and executed not as regional policies but as part of sectional policies, and are not properly connected to other regional development policies. What is more, the step-by-step objectives of industrial policies are not defined clearly and, as a result, the means of the policies are not specific. In order to overcome these problems, there should be a paradigmatic transition in making regional industrial policies, which reflects not only economic factors but also the social and cultural factors of the region. Moreover, place-based policies should be planned and promoted that categorize areas subject to the policies through comprehended analysis of regional industrial environment and combine means by section.
