  • The construction of shield tunnels is being expanded from the small-bore tunnels such as power, telecommunications, water supply, and sewerage pipes to the large bore tunnels such as road and railway tunnels with the advancement of the shield TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) manufacturing technology. Accordingly, the construction of twin shield tunnels is increasing. Peck (1969) reported that the surface settlement trough is well described by a Gaussian distribution on a single shield tunnel. Hereafter, many studies about the surface settlement trough were performed by the field measurement, laboratory model test, and numerical analysis. This study confirmed that the additional surface settlement trough induced by the 2nd tunneling were well described by using each Gaussian curve for the right and left sides of the settlement trough.

  • The undergrounding of diverse ground facilities has led to a decrease in issues, such as foul smell of water supply systems and wastewater, a fall of telephone poles, electromagnetic waves and breaking of wires caused by a railway work. On the other hand, there are new issues, including a fall accident, explosion affected by flammable gas, a choking accident by harmful gas and a lack of oxygen concentration, a fire coming from high-tension wire heating and flooding in the manhole. Besides, these issues damage the civil society and are an anxiety to public safety. Therefore, this paper is focused on a smart manhole device for stable communication environments inside and outside the manhole and wireless communication with various devices for managing facilities in the manhole, and aims to make a contribution to public safety by suggesting a direction of future underground facility management.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to contribute to improvement of measurement management level of construction structure and technology development of monitoring sensor by presenting the detailed causes and improvement plans of construction monitoring sensor's decline in durability. Method: The causes and improvement plans of the durability degradation of the construction monitoring sensor were divided into the construction field and the electric, electronic field. The detailed status was reviewed. Results: In the field of construction, approval and inspection, inspection and testing, verification and calibration, and minimization of loss and damage ratio were reviewed. In the field of electric and electronics, sensor package and sealing, disconnection of stress concentration area, damage caused by lightning and corrosion were reviewed. Conclusion: It is expected that the durability of monitoring sensors applied to the construction site will become longer than the present status based on the study that analyzed causes and improvement plans of construction monitoring sensor's decline in durability in the field of construction and electric, electronic devices.

  • In this paper, we present a nondestructive analysis using X-ray and microscopic investigation to detect the structure, manufacturing technique and preservation status of the Goryeo lacquered box Inlaid with Mother-of-pearl Chrysanthemum and Scroll Design (Goryeo Lacquered Box). We confirm that the Goryeo Lacquered Box consists of the soft wood as the basic material. The soft wood was coated with textile and then lacquered. The box structure of the Goryeo Lacquered Box was formed of wooden boards with wood plants added to the side, after processing into a trefoil-shaped. The wooden sides of the Goryeo Lacquered Box were cut at regular intervals for easier processing into a curved shape. Moter-of-pearl, tortoiseshell, and metal wire were used to decorate the surface. mother-of pearl was the cutting processing, and tortoiseshell was used for back coloring. The metal line was constructed using one line and twist line.

  • Non-fire activated fire alarms caused by such actions as cigarette smoke, cooking, and high humidity are fire safety risk factors. In such instances, it is important to quickly locate and replace the actuated detector. However, it is difficult to locate those detectors because most do not have an address function. While new apartments can incorporate addressable fire alarm detectors, in existing apartments there are limitations in converting over to addressable detectors due to cost and power line issues. This study developed an efficient address function for fire alarms in existing apartments. The newly developed system consists of the existing receiver, and a proposed addressable repeater and detector. Utilizing an experimental setup, the performance of the proposed address monitoring system was confirmed to be stable and compatible with the receiver and existing detectors.

  • This study noted that the social support and service satisfaction in care services consist of a continuous process of realizing children's rights beyond a single-line effect on children's happiness. This study was to examine the effects of Caregiver' social support on happiness among children using Community Child Center and mediating the effects of service satisfaction. For this, the questionnaire survey was made on targeting 4, 5, 6th grade students using 185 Community Child Centers located Jeonbuk. To this end, survey data were collected 1,241 data, SPSS 23 and Amos 23 were carried out description statistics, correlation analysis and structure equation analysis. The results were as follows. First, caregiver's social support had a direct effect on happiness. Second, service satisfaction had a significant mediating effect on the relationship between social support and happiness. Based on this, this study suggested the policy and practical implication to promote the children' happiness.

  • This study started with the awareness that the review of the historical origins of Korean broadcasting will be of great significance in exploring the future of Korean broadcasting, and examined the various "origins" of Korean broadcasting - colonial, Cold War, totalitarian, neoliberal. Based on the theoretical background of "media archaeology", the historical 'origin' of Korean broadcasting was applied to track the origin of Hallyu(the Korean Wave) in the 21st century by comprehensively examining the political and economic motives of the time, the state's situational awareness of problems, major broadcasting policies and broadcasting realities. As a result of the study, it came to the tentative conclusion that the historical origin of the Hallyu, which began to be formed in the 1980s, originated from the three origins of Korean broadcasting and the "synthetic mixture" in the subsequent development process.

  • In this paper, accidents in high-voltage overhead distribution lines, which provide stable power supply in the power system, cause inconvenience in life and disruption of production of companies. 22.9 [kV] high-voltage overhead power distribution lines aim to improve reliability and stability, such as damage caused by rain, snow, wind, etc., or electric shock prevention. Therefore, in order to prevent wire disconnection accidents due to deterioration of electrical conductivity or tensile strength due to corrosion of overhead distribution lines, it is necessary to prevent unexpected accidents in the future through regular inspection and repair. In order to diagnose deterioration due to corrosion of distribution lines, a diagnostic system (measuring instrument) is installed on the wires to monitor the condition of the wires. The manager on the ground receives the measured data through ZigBee wireless communication, controls the diagnosis system through the diagnosis system program, and grasps the condition of the overhead distribution line through the measured data and photographed photos, and predicts the life of the wire along with the visual inspection method. developed a program.

  • This study examines the paradigm shift in vocational training with the introduction of remote training, which has been conducted fragmentarily by project, to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. It analyzes the operation's problems and limitations by dividing the remote training process from assessment to budget execution by subject, stage, and procedure. Additionally, it collects various stakeholders' opinions to propose improvement plans for the vocational training support system to effectively respond to the paradigm shift in vocational training in the digital and non-face-to-face era. The study assumes that the assessment of training institutions and the training process should be innovated in a way that can accommodate the direction of vocational training in the digital and non-face-to-face era instead of focusing on traditional collective training. Based on this premise, it suggests ways to enhance the pre-approval screening system and the training institution assessment system.

  • This study aims at examining the concepts that apply in understanding the water cycle, to inquire into the concept related to the unit of earth structure that are taught in the Earth Science I. Analysis of word association, drawing and questionnaires showed that it was difficult for them to understand the water cycle within the earth system, and to put components into one integrated system together. In other words, it showed that they have a low standard of understanding in connection with the water cycle, that their understanding of water cycle are simple thoughts rather than systematic thought. It showed that they had an understanding of the atmosphere and hydrosphere to some extent, but they took no notice of the effect of the lithosphere or biosphere, nor do they have an understanding of its effect. Analysis of questionnaires showed that they have no well understanding of water cycle of cyclic nature, and that they have low standard of understanding of the components of water cycle.
