  • In this paper, a new image compression algorithm using the generality of the multilaryer perceptron is proposed. Proposed algorithm classifies image into some classes, and trains them through the multilayer perceptron. Multilayer perceptron which trained by the above method can do compression and reconstruction of the nontrained image by the generality. Also, it reduces memory size of the side of receiver and quantization error. For the experiment, we divide Lena image into 16 classes and train them through one multilayer perceptron. The experimental results show that we can get excellent reconstruction images by doing compression and reconstruction for Lena image, Dollar image and Statue image.

  • This study was presented how to interpret a laminated cylindrical shell having both ends supported condition are simple, and by identifying the three-dimensional stress characteristics. The governing equations were using the concept of finite element assuming the conversion into ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations by numerical analysis using the finite strip method. In particular, a function performed for the three-dimensional laminated cylindrical shell having a simple support condition were analyzed for the case composed of a specific function of the beam consisting of a trigonometric function. Layer material and layer thickness of a steel or concrete, the cylindrical length and the like by varying the parameters variously examine the effects of multi-layer cylindrical shell.

  • We investigated the magnetoresistance of perpendicularly magnetized magnetic tunnel junction composed of Co/Pd multilayers. The magnetoresistance was maximized with Co electrodes of about 5 nm thickness, which evidenced the important role of the interface in tunneling process. Both the change in perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and improvement of junction resistance were observed with changing Co sublayers, while the spin scattering became dominant with increasing Pd sublayers.

  • Dependence of the exchange bias and coercivity as surface magnetic anisotropy and ferromagnet materials for $[Pd/Co]_N$ and $[Pd/Co,(CoFe)]_N$/FeMn multilayers with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy were investigated. The coercivity was proportionally increased to 670 Oe by increasing stack number N in Ta(2.1 nm)/[Pd(3.1/N)/$Co(1.2/N)]_N$/Ta(2.1) multilayers with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. Also, the coercivity in exchange biased multilayer was tend to increased by increasing stack number N. But coercivity of each materials have been in order of Co (600 Oe), $Co_5Fe_5$ (520 Oe) and $Co_8Fe_2$ (320 Oe) as function of the ferromagnet materials. The other side, exchange force of each materials is 300 Oe when the reiteration layer number N is 3. In over number of reiteration layer 3, they maintained coercivity between 200 Oe and 300 Oe.

  • We investigated how the magnetic anisotropy in $[Co(2\;{\AA})/Ni(8\;{\AA})]{\times}N$ multilayers varied with the type and thickness of an underlayer. The magnetic measurements clearly showed that the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy could be developed in the Co/Ni multilayer by adopting an underlayer with [111] texture. The coercivity of the Co/Ni multilayer increased from 99 Oe to 430 Oe as the thickness of an Au underlayer increased from $50\;{\AA}$ to $500\;{\AA}$. The increase in coercivity is ascribed to the development of the stronger [111] texture in the Co/Ni multilayer as an Au underlayer gets thicker.
