In this study, how international diversification of domestic companies increases corporate profits and increases the dividend income of paid-in capital investors, who provided the basis for corporate business activities in the process of distributing profits. I tried to find out if it had an effect. An empirical analysis was conducted using a fixed-effect model for companies with settlements at the end of December listed on the domestic securities market from 2011 to 2018. It was confirmed that the higher the level of international diversification of individual companies, the higher the company's dividend payout ratio and dividend yield. This means that companies can steadily expand corporate profits and dividend yield of shareholders by securing new overseas markets through international diversification, it can be seen that a company's international diversification strategy can contribute to the increase of corporate value by increasing the company's dividend payout ratio by increasing dividendable profit.

The balance between exploration for new possibility and exploitation for existing certainty is an important issue in strategy, innovation, R&D as well as organization learning. Among the convergence trends of technologies, many firms seek to have the wider technological knowledge assets and the deeper technology capabilities for the sustainable competitive advantage at the same time. While firms plan technology portfolio strategies, they should consider the attribute of the technology. Nanotechnology, a cutting-edge technology, is a general purpose technology, unlike conventional product-oriented technologies. This empirical study was focused on how multi-national firms' exploration and exploitation strategies for nanotechnology affect their innovative and financial performance. It uses multiple regression analysis on panel data. This result shows that the more diversified and specialized nanotechnology as platform technology is positively related to their innovative and financial performance, unlike the research results for product-oriented technologies. In addition, exploratory innovation is more effective to firm performance than exploitation. This implies how global firms can manage effectively platform technology strategies under the constraints of resources.

자판기 관련사업의 경기가 말이 아니다. 대외적인 경기침체의 악재와 더불어 "정말 힘드네..."하는 신음소리가 곳곳에서 들린다. 더욱 심각한 문제는 자판기 사업 메리트가 과거보다 점점 떨어진다는 점이다. 돈 될만한 아이템도 드물고, 기존 아이템의 사업성도 점점 떨어지는 현실. 정말 답답하기 그지없는 상황에서 '어떻게 하면 돌파구를 찾을 수 있을까?'에 골몰하지 않을 수 없다. 기존 아이템의 시장이 막히면 어떻게든지 다른 사업모델을 찾는 일이 불황 타파의 좋은 해법이 될 수 있다. 예주테크코리아의 손민호 사장은 이 부분에 주목하고 있는 사람이다. 그는 기존 자사의 주력 사업영역인 껌볼 캔디 자판기 사업이 부진해지는 양상을 보이자 발빠르게 다른 사업 모델을 찾아 나섰다. 도대체 최근 사업에 무슨 일이 있기에 "사업 다각화를 해야 살아남는다"고 주창하고 있는 것일까?

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the controlling shareholding ratio and the business diversification of savings banks The difference in this study is the analysis of the relationship between the controlling shareholding ratio of the savings bank and the business diversification using panel data. In this study, the semi-annual financial statements for the period 2014-2018 were used on the basis of a sample of 79 saving banks. The research model is analyzed using random effects generalized linear square (GLS) model considering the autocorrelation problem. As a result of the empirical analysis, it is estimated that the relationship between the controlling shareholding ratio of the savings bank and the business diversification is significant (+). This is the result of supporting the hedging hypothesis.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the structural relationship of the impact on the business performance when it pursues resource based production strategies, nurtures core competency, develops core product lines and innovate its business models as part of a strategy of value innovation and to validate how the nurturing core competency can have an impact on the execution of the value innovation strategies. This paper confirms that there is a structural relationship, which is logically and conceptually valid, among the core competence, value innovation strategies and business performance of manufacturing companies. In order to maximize the business performance which is the eventual objective of a company, it must strategically nurture its core competence, which will be a main driver of the future competitiveness and diversify its management based on the value innovation strategies.

This study suggests an integrated model composed of factors of industrial environments and technology capacity for corporate diversification decision based on industrial organization theory and resource based perspectives. We examine the proposed model using patents and financial data of 272 applicants for 6 years (2010~2015) in the smart factory ICT convergence technology (application and platform field) sectors. The result of analyzing the fixed effect panel model shows that technological competitiveness has a positive effect on corporate diversification. Also, the additional result of analyzing the two-stage least square fixed effect model indicates that the convergence patent ratio increases technological competitiveness. Based on the results, we provide implications for corporate diversification strategies and government R & D policies for commercialization of corporate convergence technology resources and competencies.

The purpose of this study is to propose the management strategies of libraries through exploring the library environment in ubiquitous era. After the internal and external environment of Korean libraries was investigated by papers related with this study, the comprehensive management strategies of libraries were prepared. Five management strategies for library development in ubiquitous era were proposed. They were the strategies of library hybridization, collecting contents, user service diversification, changing library organization and preparing culture of learning organization, and collecting library fund.

This paper reviews the problems and opportunities of Japanese newspaper industry. In the focus are particularly issues related to causes of the crisis and reacting strategies overcoming the crisis. To answer the questions, we conducted in-depth interviews with top-level managers of major newspaper companies in Japan. Secondary data were gathered to complement the interview. Top managers mainly perceived the causes of the crisis as young readers' alienation from newspaper due to the change of media environment and structural factors such as increasing production/distribution costs and diminishing appeals for advertisers. They are implementing several strategies to overcome this crisis - developing newspaper content for young readers; packaging customized on-off line advertisement; extending news distribution via online and mobile platforms; diversifying business into diverse sectors such as real-estate; enhancing brand equity of newspaper; and collaborating with rival newspaper companies in operating news site and joint printing/distribution. Lessons from the case of Japanese newspaper industry may be useful starting points for the Korean newspaper companies agonizing for diminishing circulation and advertising revenues.
