An Analysis of the Contents and Make-up of the Page in a News Story of the Internet Newspaper -focusing on Naver, Daum, Nate, Yahoo- (인터넷신문의 뉴스기사 페이지 구성과 콘텐츠에 대한 분석 -네이버, 다음, 네이트, 야후를 중심으로-)

  • This paper has analyzed how the format of the text page and the contents of space surrounding the text in the news stories of the portal sites are made-up. The result of analysis showed that the formats of the text page in Naver news story were more intricate than those of Daum, Nate and Yahoo. Also, Naver was higher in the number of advertising, the type of advertising, the entertainment contents, and various types of contents than other three portals. Especially, the percentage of new story related to entertainers was the highest. It was the portal site Daum that advertised the news story most of all in its text page. In contrast, it was portal site Yahoo that inserted the advertisements least of all. But from the whole sides, it was found that the formats and contents of the text page of the news story in these three portal sites have similarly been made-up. Consequently speaking, for the serviceability of use in news story, it can be evaluated that the news service method in portal sites is higher than that in press dot coms.

  • 스마트 폰에 탑재된 기능들이 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있으며 사용자는 스마트폰의 위치정보 서비스를 통하여 주변의 여러 정보를 손쉽게 접근 할 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 국내에서는 뉴스와 위치 정보 서비스를 결합하여 뉴스 정보를 제공해주는 프로그램이 거의 없는 현실이다. 본 논문에서는 스마트폰과 웹 서버(Web Server)간의 위치 정보와 뉴스 정보를 서로 통신하여 주고받아 스마트폰 사용자에게 주변의 뉴스기사를 제공해주는 어플리케이션 시스템을 제안한다.

  • 현재 사용하는 순차적인 뉴스 비디오 검색 방법은 많은 시간을 소비한다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 , 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 뉴스 비디오를 내용(뉴스 사건)단위별로 검색할수 있는 자동 인덱스 모듈과 원격 검색 브라우저 모듈을 제시한다. 인덱싱 모듈은 기본적으로 이미지 프로세싱을 기반으로 하여 뉴스 앵커를 검출하고 뉴스 아이템을 분할한다. 인덱싱 구성요소는 뉴스 비디오 내용에 대한 대표영상(뉴스아이콘)과 부가적인 정보를 포함하는 뉴스 자막으로 구성하였다. 검색 브라우저 모듈은 추출된 인덱싱 요소를 아이콘하여 뉴스사건 단위로 내용을 검색할수 있도록 설계하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 매일 발생되는 뉴스를 자동 인덱싱하여 사용자에게 뉴스서비스의 효율적인 적용이 기대된다.

  • 최근들어 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS) 시스템들이 많이 등장하고 있다. 아울러 스마트폰 기기에서 사용할 수 있는 다양한 서비스들도 나오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 커뮤니티 및 검색을 바탕으로 스마트폰 기기에서 이동 중에 사용자의 이용성과 편의성을 제공하는 다양한 서비스를 제공하는 SNS에 대하여 논하고자 한다. 커뮤니티 서비스, RSS 뉴스 서비스, 블로그 서비스, 위치 및 약속 서비스, 친구관리 및 채팅 서비스, 검색 서비스 등 다양한 내용을 서비스 할 수 있는 웹기반 시스템으로 구성되어 있다. 본 서비스는 모바일을 통한 커뮤니티 및 친구간의 약속 및 메신저 기능 등의 SNS을 제공한다. 아울러 기본적으로 날씨, 뉴스, 사전 및 정보검색 등의 편리한 기능을 제공한다.

An Analysis of the Hyperlinks of Internet Newspaper Sites: Focused on Chosun.com and the Washington Post (인터넷신문 섹션별 뉴스기사 본문의 하이퍼링크에 대한 분석: 조선닷컴과 워싱턴포스트를 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed the characteristics of hyperlink service from news articles in chosun.com and washington Post sites. The study showed that the Washington Post revealed many hyperlink-related elements and an increase in interactivity while Chosun.com was not established consistent hyperlink service. Also, this study analyzed news distribution based on genre, as a result, the life section was occupied the highest proportion with 32.4% for Chosun.com, while the news sections were evenly distributed for the Washington Post. Finally, as a result of classifying the linked words into 3 categories(Informational, navigational, and transactional), the highest contents category in both Chosun.com and Washington Post turned out to be informational words. Theses results can be used to develop and provide the effective link service of news articles in internet newspaper sites.

The Effect of Representativeness in News Recommendation Mechanisms on Audience Reactions in Online News Portals (대표성 기반 뉴스 추천 메커니즘이 온라인 뉴스 포탈의 독자 반응에 미치는 영향)

  • News contents has been collected, selected, edited and sometimes distorted by the news recommendation mechanisms of online portals in nowadays. Prior studies had not confirmed the consensus of newsworthiness, and they had not tried to empirically validate the impacts of newsworthiness on audience reactions. This study challenged to summarize the concepts of newsworthiness and validate the impact of representativeness of both editor's and audience's perspective on audience reactions as perceived news quality, trust on news portal, perceived usefulness, service satisfaction, loyalty, continuous usage intention, and word-of-mouth intention by adopting the representativeness heuristics method and information adoption model. 357 valid data had been collected using a scenario survey method. Subjects in each groups are exposed by 3 news recommendation mechanisms: 1) the time-priority news exposure mechanism (control group), 2) the reference-score-based news recommendation mechanism (a single treatment group), and 3) the major-news-priority exposure mechanism sorting by the reference scores made by peer audiences (the mixed treatment group). Data had been analyzed by the MANOVA and PLS method. MANOVA results indicate that only mixed method of both editor and audience recommendation mechanisms impacts on perceived news quality and trust. PLS results indicate that perceived news quality and trust could significantly affect on the perceived usefulness, service satisfaction, loyalty, continuance usage, and word-of-mouth intention. This study would contributions to empathize the role of information technology in media industry, to conceptualize the news value in the balanced views of both editors and audiences, and to empirically validate the benefits of news recommendation mechanisms in academy. For practice, the results of this study suggest that online news portals would be better to make mixed news recommendation mechanisms to attract audiences.

  • With the growth of the internet, news was enlarged from paper to web. News would be going to have a new formality through technical improvement of web. The aim of this study was to needs about the news that would be newly shown with a future growth. News is reputed to be a piece of information which is not known to the general public and coexists in our life. Therefore, news has an its significant in substance when applied to daily-life of the users. This study analyzes based on 16 fields of news-contents. Fashion was a choice for this study after selection of 8 items. Women with an emotional propensity to consume were targeted as an example of the interface of new in the days to come. The user's experience about Fashion news in daily-life was carried out to deduce the elements of design of Fashion news in the days to come. As a result, the needs of user could be classified into classes of interface, flat form.

  • AI-driven news recommendation systems are widely used today, providing personalized news consumption experiences. However, there are significant concerns that these systems might increase users' information bias by mainly showing information from limited perspectives. This lack of diverse information access can prevent users from forming well-rounded viewpoints on specific issues, leading to social problems like Filter bubbles or Echo chambers. These issues can deepen social divides and information inequality. This study aims to explore how AI-based news recommendation services affect users' perceived information bias and to create a foundation for ethical principles in AI services. Specifically, the study looks at the impact of ethical principles like accountability, the right to explanation, the right to choose, and privacy protection on users' perceptions of information bias in AI news systems. The findings emphasize the need for AI service providers to strengthen ethical standards to improve service quality and build user trust for long-term use. By identifying which ethical principles should be prioritized in the design and implementation of AI services, this study aims to help develop corporate ethical frameworks, internal policies, and national AI ethics guidelines.

  • 가짜뉴스는 뉴스 기사 형식을 갖는 날조된 정보를 의미하며, 최근 모바일 인터넷 장치의 보급과 소셜 네트워크 서비스의 대중화로 온라인 확산이 가속화되고 있다. 기존 연구는 가짜뉴스의 탐지를 위해 뉴스의 주제목, 부제목, 리드, 본문 등 뉴스 기사를 이루는 구성요소를 비롯하여 언론사, 기자, 날짜, 확산 경로 등의 메타 데이터를 대상으로 분석하였다. 그러나 뉴스의 제목과 본문 및 메타 데이터 등은 내용 수정이 쉬워, 다량의 데이터를 학습한 모델이라 하더라도 높은 정확도를 장기간 유지하기 어려울 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문은 합성곱 신경망을 이용해 문맥 정보를 분석하고 장단기 메모리 기반의 감성분석을 추가로 수행한다. 문맥 정보와 가짜뉴스 유포자가 쉽게 수정할 수 없는 감성 변화 패턴을 활용하여 성능이 개선된 가짜뉴스 탐지 모델을 제안한다.

Discovering News Keyword Associations Using Association Rule Mining (연관규칙 마이닝을 활용한 뉴스기사 키워드의 연관성 탐사)

  • The current Web portal sites provide significant keywords with high popularity or importance; specifically, user-friendly services such as tag clouds and associated word search are provided. However, in general, since news articles are classified only with their date and categories, it is not easy for users to find other articles related to some articles while reading news articles classified with categories. And the conventional associated keyword service has not satisfied users sufficiently because it depends only upon user queries. This paper proposes a way of searching news articles by utilizing the keywords tightly associated with users' queries. Basically, the proposed method discovers a set of keyword association patterns by using the association rule mining technique that extracts association patterns for keywords by focusing upon sentences containing some keywords. The method enables users to navigate the space of associated keywords hidden in large news articles.
