Synthesis of Ocean Wave Models and Simulation Using GPU (바다물결 모형의 합성 및 GPU를 이용한 시뮬레이션)

  • Among many other CG generated natural scenes, the representation of ocean surfaces is one of the most complicated and time-consuming problem because of its large extent and complex surface movement. We present a hybrid method to represent and animate unbound deep-water ocean surfaces by utilizing graphics processor as both simulation and rendering core. Our technique is mainly based on spectral approaches that generate a high-detailed height field using Fourier transform on a 2D regular grid. Additionally, we incorporate Gerstner model and generate low-detailed height field on a 2D projected grid in order to represent large waves and main structure of ocean surface. There is no interruption between CPU and GPU, and no need to transfer simulation results from the system memory to graphics hardware because the entire simulation and rending processes are done on graphics processor. As a result we can synthesize and render realistic water surfaces in real-time. Proposed techniques are readily adoptable to real-time applications such as computer games that have heavy work load on CPU but still demand plausible natural scenes.

  • In this paper, we propose applying differential techniques for 2D/3D video conversion to the objects grouped by depth information. One of the problems converting 2D images to 3D images using the technique tracking the motion of pixels is that objects not moving between adjacent frames do not give any depth information. This problem can be solved by applying relative height cue only to the objects which have no moving information between frames, after the process of splitting the background and objects and extracting depth information using motion vectors between objects. Using this technique all the background and object can have their own depth information. This proposed method is used to generate depth map to generate 3D images using DIBR(Depth Image Based Rendering) and verified that the objects which have no movement between frames also had depth information.

Usability and Accessibility Evaluation of South Korean and American Health-Related Websites for the Elderly (노인들을 위한 건강관련 웹사이트의 사용성과 접근성 평가)

  • 연구목적: 노인을 위한 건강정보 웹사이트들이 사용성과 접근성을 높이기 위해 지켜야 할 디자인 요소를 어떻게 반영하고 있는지 평가·비교함으로써 개선 방향을 제언하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 국내 및 미국에서 개발된 노인 대상의 건강정보 웹사이트를 각각 9개씩 선정하였다. 근거 기반의 웹디자인 지침서인 Make Your Website Senior Friendly: Checklist와 Research-based Web Design & Usability Guideline을 통합 수정하여 얻은 4개 영역의 평가 항목 48개를 적용해 두 명의 평가자가 선정된 총 18개 웹사이트를 평가하였다. 연구결과: '가독성' 영역 중 서체 선택, 줄 간격, 배경색과 글자색 선택 등은 양호하였으나 국내 웹사이트들 중에는 글자 크기가 조절되지 않는 경우가 빈번하였다. '정보의 표현과 구성' 영역에서 다수의 웹사이트들은 정보 배치 등이 우수하고 소비자 용어를 사용하는 노력을 보였다. 그러나 일부 국내 웹사이트들은 프린트 기능을 제공하지 않거나, 노인들의 저하된 인지 능력을 배려하려는 노력이 부족하였다. '미디어 사용' 영역에서 국내 웹사이트들은 글자 외에 다른 매체를 사용하는 빈도가 미국 웹사이트들에 비해 낮았고, 시청각 매체를 사용할 때는 동일한 내용을 문자로도 볼 수 있도록 하라는 권고안을 준수하지 않았다. '내비게이션과 검색의 용이성'에서는 메뉴나 링크의 명칭이 명확하며, 이용 중에도 쉽게 홈페이지로 돌아갈 수 있도록 구성되었다. 그러나 다수의 국내 사이트들이 사이트맵을 제공하지 않거나, 검색어의 철자오류 등에 대한 배려가 부족하였다. 결론: 국내 웹사이트들은 미국 웹사이트들에 비해 노인들의 사용성과 접근성을 높이는 것으로 밝혀진 연구 근거들을 제대로 반영하지 못하고 있었다. 노인 대상의 인터넷과 웹을 활용한 교육이 지속적으로 증가할 것이므로, 그 효과성을 높이기 위해 간호사들은 정보의 질 뿐만 아니라 디자인 측면의 중요성을 인식하고 실천할 수 있어야겠다.

Development of an Strategic Model for the Selection of a National IT R&D Strategic Project (국가 IT R&D 전략과제 선정 모형개발)

  • In this paper, we offer a new strategic Portfolio Model for national IT R&D project selection in Korea. A risk and return (R-R) Portfolio Model was developed using an objectively quantified index on the two axes of risk and return, in order to select a strategic project and allocate resources in compliance with a national IT R&D strategy. We strategize using the R-R Portfolio Model to solve the non-strategy and subjectivity problems of the existing national R&D project selection Model. We also use the quantified evaluation index of the IT technology road map (TRM) and the technology level Survey (TLS) for the subjectivity of project selection, and try to discover the weights using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). In addition, we intend to maximize the chance for a successful national IT R&D project, by selecting a strategic Portfolio project and balancing the allocation of resources effectively and objectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the accuracy of service satisfaction by utilizing KSC (Kano, Score Model, Concept Position) analysis methods in order to present various fitness center service models for healthy new silver generation centered on P fitness center which runs six branches in Busan. Double Diamond-based methods led to a case study focused on the P fitness center's Yeon-san branch which well leading in a wide variety of leisure infrastructures for the senior citizens. Throughout this study, based on the insights extracted from the customers were culminating in nine service design models from the perspective of administrators and trainers. The final derived nine models have been evaluated by Kano's satisfaction evaluation, Concept score, and Concept position evaluation. All of the nine models results indicated as valid except for models 3 and 6. Finally, an implementation roadmap was proposed by dividing it into investment cost and effectiveness.

  • 하천법 개정 및 수자원의 조사·계획 및 관리에 관한 법률 제정으로 하상변동조사를 정기적으로 실시하는 것이 의무화 되었고, 지자체가 계획적으로 수자원을 관리할 수 있도록 제도가 마련되고 있다. 하상의 지형측량은 직접 측량할 수 없기 때문에 수심 측량을 통해 간접적으로 이루어지고 있으며, 그 방법은 레벨측량이나 음향측심기를 활용한 접촉식으로 이루어지고 있다. 접촉식 수심측량법은 자료수집이 제한적이기 때문에 공간해상도가 낮고 연속적인 측량이 불가능하다는 한계가 있어 최근에는 LiDAR나 초분광영상을 이용한 원격탐사를 이용한 수심측정 기술이 개발되고있다. 개발된 초분광영상을 이용한 수심측정 기술은 접촉식 조사보다 넓은 지역을 조사할 수 있고, 잦은 빈도로 자료취득이 용이한 드론에 경량 초분광센서를 탑재하여 초분광영상을 취득하고, 최적 밴드비 탐색 알고리즘을 적용해 수심맵 산정이 가능하다. 기존의 초분광 원격탐사 기법은 드론의 경로비행으로 획득한 초분광영상을 면단위의 영상으로 정합한 후 특정 물리량에 대한 분석이 수행되었으며, 수심측정의 경우 모래하천을 대상으로 한 연구가 주를 이루었으며, 하상재료에 대한 평가는 이루어지지 않았었다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 초분광영상을 활용한 수심산정 기법을 식생이 있는 하천에 적용하고, 동일지역에서 식생을 제거한 후의 2가지 케이스에 대해서 시공간(Spatio-temporal)초분광영상과 단면초분광영상에 모두 적용해 보았다. 연구결과, 식생이 없는 경우의 수심산정이 더 높은 정확도를 보였으며, 식생이 있는 경우에는 식생의 높이를 바닥으로 인식한 수심이 산정되었다. 또한, 기존의 단면초분광영상을 이용한 수심산정뿐만 아니라 시공간 초분광영상에서도 수심산정의 높은 정확도를 보여 시공간 초분광영상을 활용한 하상변동(수심변동) 추적의 가능성을 확인하였다.

General Treatment Strategy for Intervention in Lower Extremity Arterial Disease (하지동맥 질환의 인터벤션: 전반적 치료 계획 수립)

  • The prevalence of lower extremity disease is increasing with age. With recent technological advancements, endovascular treatment is being performed more frequently. The treatment goal of intermittent claudication is to improve walking and reduce claudication. To achieve these goals, anatomical durability and patency are important. In patients with critical limb ischemia, the lesions are diffuse and particularly severe in below-the-knee arteries. The treatment goal of critical limb ischemia is to promote wound healing and to prevent major amputation, which is evaluated by the limb salvage rate. Primary stenting using covered or bare metal stents is a widely accepted endovascular treatment. While drug-eluting technologies with or without atherectomy are widely used in the treatment of femoropopliteal disease, balloon angioplasty is the mainstay treatment for below-the-knee intervention. CT angiography provides a road map for planning endovascular treatment in patients without absolute contraindications.

A 3D Terrain Reconstruction System using Navigation Information and Realtime-Updated Terrain Data (항법정보와 실시간 업데이트 지형 데이터를 사용한 3D 지형 재구축 시스템)

  • A terrain is an essential element for constructing a virtual world in which game characters and objects make various interactions with one another. Creating a terrain requires a great deal of time and repetitive editing processes. This paper presents a 3D terrain reconstruction system to create 3D terrain in virtual space based on real terrain data. In this system, it converts the coordinate system of the height maps which are generated from a stereo camera and a laser scanner from global GPS into 3D world using the x and z axis vectors of the global GPS coordinate system. It calculates the movement vectors and the rotation matrices frame by frame. Terrain meshes are dynamically generated and rendered in the virtual areas which are represented in an undirected graph. The rendering meshes are exactly created and updated by correcting terrain data errors. In our experiments, the FPS of the system was regularly checked until the terrain was reconstructed by our system, and the visualization quality of the terrain was reviewed. As a result, our system shows that it has 3 times higher FPS than other terrain management systems with Quadtree for small area, improves 40% than others for large area. The visualization of terrain data maintains the same shape as the contour of real terrain. This system could be used for the terrain system of realtime 3D games to generate terrain on real time, and for the terrain design work of CG Movies.

Ensemble Deep Network for Dense Vehicle Detection in Large Image

  • This paper has proposed an algorithm that detecting for dense small vehicle in large image efficiently. It is consisted of two Ensemble Deep-Learning Network algorithms based on Coarse to Fine method. The system can detect vehicle exactly on selected sub image. In the Coarse step, it can make Voting Space using the result of various Deep-Learning Network individually. To select sub-region, it makes Voting Map by to combine each Voting Space. In the Fine step, the sub-region selected in the Coarse step is transferred to final Deep-Learning Network. The sub-region can be defined by using dynamic windows. In this paper, pre-defined mapping table has used to define dynamic windows for perspective road image. Identity judgment of vehicle moving on each sub-region is determined by closest center point of bottom of the detected vehicle's box information. And it is tracked by vehicle's box information on the continuous images. The proposed algorithm has evaluated for performance of detection and cost in real time using day and night images captured by CCTV on the road.
