Monitoring/Modeling of Hydrology, Water Quality, and Agroecological Environment at Small Watersheds : A Pilot Study Program (농업유역의 수문.수질.생태환경 모니터링/모델링 연구)

  • 지난 20여년 동안 급격한 도시화, 산업화를 추진하는 과정에서 대기와 물의 오염, 쓰레기 공해 등 자연환경의 훼손과 피폐화가 심각한 상태에 이르렀다. 또한, 과다한 농약. 비료의 투입과 농사료에 의한 축산으로 높은 농업 생산성을 이룩하였으나, 이로 인하여 토양오염과 하천과 지하수 수질오염, 식생, 곤충 등 생태계 파괴 등의 문제가 대두되고 있다. 최근, 수자원 함양, 수질 정화 등의 순기능으로 농업의 환경 기여 효과가 큰 것으로 발표되었다. 논으로 부터의 오염부하는 생활 오수나 공장폐수 등에 비하여 정성적으로는 미미한 것이 사실이며, 실제로 관개수로 유입되는 영양물질이 작물에 의하여 흡수되므로 물질 수지적 측면에서 수질정화 효과를 나타낸다는 개념이다. 그러나, 오염된 관개수와 함께 유입되는 물질과 영농 목적으로 투입되는 다량의 비료와 농약, 제초제 등의 독성 물질 등에 의한 생태 환경의 변화 등에 대한 영향 등에 관한 종합적 관점에서의 효과는 불분명한 것이 현실이다. 특히, 폭우시 농경지로부터 유출에 의한 토사유실과 영양 물질이 손실 등에 대한 정량적 평가가 부족하며, 이로 인한 유역에서의 수문, 수질, 생태환경 등을 정량적 분석이 부족한 것이 현실이다. 따라서, 농업유역에서의 수문과 물질순환과정을 정량적으로 분석하고, 이를 통하여 주요 오염원을 파악하고, 효과적인 조절방법 등을 위한 유역수질관리 기술개발과 함께, 경지와 주변 생태계에 미치는 영향 등을 극소화할 수 있는 종합적인 연구가 필요하다. 특히, 관개시설 등 농업기반조성사업에 따른 인위적인 수문환경으로 인한 농경지내에서의 수문.물질순환 기작의 변화 등을 고려한 수질 및 생태환경에 판한 종합적인 모니터링, 모델링 등의 접근이 필요한 것이다. 본 논문에서는 $.$95 농림수산특정연구 중 첨단연구과제로 추진 중인 농업생태환경 및 종합적 환경관리 시스템 개발연구의 목표와 내용, 범위 등을 소개하고, 농촌지역에서의 건전한 환경관리를 위한 유역관리기술 개발의 방향 등을 정리하도록 한다.

Flora of crop lands in Ulleungdo Island (울릉도 농경지의 식물상)

  • Ulleungdo, a volcanic island, has different climate, soil, and topography characteristics from inland of the Korean Peninsula. Its agriculture also exhibits distinctive features. This study focused on floristic compositions and characteristics of crop lands in Ulleungdo. Flora surveys were conducted for 37 areas three times, one in May of 2016, one in July of 2020, and one in August of 2020. Results showed that vascular plants of crop lands in Ulleungdo included 186 taxa of 53 families, 132 genera, 160 species, 14 varieties, five subspecies, and five hybrids. Asteraceae had the most diverse species (33 taxa), followed by Poaceae (25 taxa), Fabaceae (12 taxa), Polygonaceae (11 taxa), and Liliaceae (nine taxa). The biological type of crop lands in Ulleungdo island was determined to be Th-R5-D4-e type. Rare plants were found for nine taxa: Athyrium acutipinnulum Kodama ex Nakai, Sedum takasimense Nakai, Rubus takesimensis Nakai, Dystaenia takesimana (Nakai) Kitag., Ligustrum foliosum Nakai, Aster pseudoglehni Y.Lim, Cirsium nipponicum (Maxim.) Makino, Lilium hansonii Leichtlin ex D.D.T.Moore, and Polygonatum robustum (Korsh.) Nakai. In addition, 45 taxa contained naturalized plants of 13 families, 33 genera, 44 species, and one variety. Urbanization and naturalization indices were 13.9%, and 24.2%, respectively.

They also have represented the social meaning of urban space, and have expanded 'their political space' This filmic challenge showed diverse negative factors which were the poor's economical difficulties, the relative robbery of their education and job, and adhered class in city through developing the urban space with were hidden beyond modernity's splendor.

A Study on the Patterns of Eating and Cooking Spaces Usage of the Residence in an Urbanizing Rural Community (도시화되는 농촌지역 주택의 식사.취사공간 사용방식에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to investigate the patterns of eating and cooking spaces usage of the residence in an urbanizing rural community and suggests planning data to help plan which reflect the residents` housing needs. For the purpose of this study, Sam ga-3ri village and Yoo bang-2ri village in Yong-in, Kyungki-do, which showed a changed living pattern by urbanization, was chosen and the field survey method was used. As a results of this study, I have shown that although rural housing needs to modernized it should not simply duplicate the organization of the urban kitchen. The residents of rural communities need for modernized their cooking facilites, but they need to do this in a way that fits their lifestyle.

  • 전통사회가 근대화 되면서 정치 경제 사회 문화 등의 전반적인 발전이 이루어졌다. 농촌지역들이 도시화 되면서 새로운 건물들이 지어지고 기존의 건물들이 증축되면서 건물은 점점 높아지고 대형화 되었다. 또한 건물들이 밀집되면서 한 곳에서 발생한 화재가 건물 내에서 번지거나 또는 주변 건물 등에 옮겨 붙어 대형화재로 이어질 수 있는 위험이 증가되고 있다. 대형 화재를 예방 하고 화재사고의 인명 및 재산 피해를 최소화하기 위해서 화재를 조기에 감지하는 화재감지 기술에 대한 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 화재가 발생 될 때 나타나는 화재의 특징들을 살펴보고 이를 통해 화재를 조기에 판단하기 위한 조건을 알아본다. 또한 이러한 조건들에 부합되는 최근의 연기 및 화염 감지 시스템의 연구 동향에 대해 알아본다.

Distribution Pattern of the Naturalized Plants in the Biotope Types in the Jeonju Area (전주지역 비오톱 유형별 귀화식물의 분포특성)

  • This study was conducted to provide a database for biotope conservation and restoration of the Jeonju region in North Cheolla Province. To accomplish this task, investigations were made on the characteristics of the distribution pattern of naturalized plants in the region. From May to June 2008, the flora and lists of naturalized plants were investigated and, based on these data the ratio of naturalization was calculated. The results of this investigation areas follows: a total of 113 families and 54 species were found in the flora. The naturalized plants among them amounted to 19 families and 54 species. The ratio of naturalization was most high in the biotope type of rural dried stream(36.4%). The biotype that showed the lowest ratio of naturalization was coniferous natural forest type, which had no naturalized plants in it. The average naturalization ration of the Jeonju region turned out to be 18.9%, which is similar to that of other mid-size cities in Korea.

The Change of Economic Space and the Classification of Urban-Rural Consolidated Cities in Gyeonggi-do (경기도 도농복합시의 경제공간 변화와 유형 분류)

  • The urban-rural consolidated city has emerged in order to promote the balanced development of urban region and rural region. Targeted 11 urban-rural consolidated cities in Gyeonggi Province, this paper investigated the changes of economic space in accordance with the location of industrial activities. The number of establishments has increased in all cities. From the analysis of the changes in the economic space divided into urban regions and rural regions, concentration phenomenon of economic activities in urban regions was strengthened in 9 cities with the exception of Icheon-si and Anseong-si. Concentration of economic activities in urban region was noticeable in Namyangju-si, Pocheon-si, and Yongin-si. 5 types were derived from the classification on the basis of locational changes of economic activities in urban region and rural region. They are 1) urban-rural gap deepen type, 2) urban region growth slowdown type, 3) rural region growth type, 4) urban-rural balanced growth type, and 5) urban region-led growth type. While urban-rural gap of the cities close to highly urbanized city or metropolis has intensified, the growth of urban region was weakened in the cities located away from the metropolis.

The Spatial Mismatch between Population Ageing and the Level of Public Welfare Service (인구 고령화와 공공서비스 수준 간의 공간적 불일치에 관한 연구)

  • The increase of elderly population is inevitable a universal trend in developed countries. The Korea also followed this tendency. Especially the elderly population in Korea has been rapidly increasing since the 1990s. The rural population is aging more rapidly than the urban one because younger generations move into the urban area, due to better jobs and children education's opportunities. However, the majority of studies on population ageing are focused on the urban area rather than the rural ones. Rural areas also have been excluded as a priority of the national welfare policy for the elderly people. This paper tries to analyze the population ageing among regions and to identify the regional disparity between the elderly people and the level of public services in the rural area. Based upon these results, this study notes some policy alternatives for the improvement of quality of life of the rural elderly. It also suggests on the suitable location of public service facilities in the rural areas.

The Dilemma of Rural Development and Agricultural Market Opening in Korea: The Perspective of Farmers (한국의 농촌개발과 농업시장개방 문제: 농민의 관점)

  • Based on a survey sample of farm households in three provinces of Korea, this article reports the perspectives of fuel-time farmers regarding trade liberalization, its effects on their lives, and the future of small-scale farming. While the agricultural sector is being transformed under neoliberal policies, farmers, with life or no preparation for a global market order, are forced to modernize their farming operations. The findings from the survey indicate that farmers accede to terms of global integration in principle while disapproving state rural policies in practice. The survey data also confirm that intra-regional differences in farmers'perceived satisfaction with living conditions, government farm policies, and socio-economic/labor issues. Disparities in the degree of discontent with government policies and socio-economic well-being are explicit between the relatively diversified region of Kyonggi Province and the farming-dependent regions of Chunbuk and Kyongbuk Provinces. The overall findings uphold that most farmers who have not been fully exposed to free market mechanisms are confronted by increased uncertainties and economic hardships. The findings propound that agricultural/rural policies need to reflect long-term, macroeconomic changes, and regionally/locally-based agricultural structure.

Flora and Restoration Plan of Hanon Paddy Fields Made in Maar Crater, Jeju Island, South Korea (제주도 마르형 분화구 내에 형성된 하논의 식물상과 복원 방안)

  • Hanon made in the largest maar crater in Korea, is the only paddy field ecosystem in Jeju Island that has been conducting rice farming, for the past 500 years. Flora surveys were conducted eight times, 2015-2018, to understand floristic characteristics and a restoration plan of the study area. As a result, vascular plants of Hanon paddy fields were listed 225 taxa that consist of 55 families, 151 genera, 194 species, 1 subspecies, 25 varieties, and 4 forms. The taxonomic group including the most species, was Gramineae (36 taxa). The next families were Compositae (29 taxa), Cyperaceae (20), Leguminosae (13), and Polygonaceae (11). Biological type of the Hanon was $Th-R_5-D_4-t$ type. The rare plants revealed 3 taxa; Ottelia alismoides(L.) Pers., Acorus calamus L., Pseudoraphis ukishiba Ohwi. Endemic plant revealed 1 taxon; Saururus chinensis(Lour.) Baill. Forty three taxa were naturalized plants composed of 15 families, 24 genera, 41 species, and 2 varieties. The urbanization index and naturalized index were 13.3% and 16.9%, respectively. The Hanon has high plant diversity, including endemic plant and rare plants, and is the only rice paddy in Jeju Island. So, the Hanon has sufficient values in ecological and socio-cultural aspects, so it should be maintained continuously in the future.
