The recent interest in historic protection of rural landscape concentrates on the cultural landscape. Historic rural landscape properties in the United States America have protected in the national historic preservation system as National Register of Historic Places to contribute to the enhancement of the national identity and economy. This Paper focuses on research of the National Register of historic rural landscape and applicability to Korea. The work reviews published research report, related regulations and related Bulletins. Some works were conducted by online research including a review of related webpage. The Historic Rural Landscapes in U.S.A are identified and evaluated as historically significant districts, sites, structure, objects, and buildings according to the National Resister Criteria. Those were managed as National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmarks in National Resister. Government provides national preservation system and tax incentive for historic preservation of rural historic Landscapes.

This study is on landscape design of existing rural village focused on for improvement of community. It's so one of serious problems in landscape in almost rural area of the nation. For the finding clue of landscape design of village view through this study, we surveyed 1 village located in Sangju city. By surveying landscape design factor of village, we can propose design method and a few results as follow; Firstly, the structure of village landscape has five principle factors. The five factors of landscape are history and culture, housing and building, nature, agriculture, and environment design. Secondly, color existing of housings is to contain a primary color on roof which is not in harmony. Nevertheless, we can also find the reform measure and the possibility because of the knowledge of village people.

본 연구는 "농어업인 삶의 질 향상 및 농어촌지역 개발촉진에 관한 특별법" 제20조, 동법 시행령 제12조에 의거, 농촌중심지활성화를 위한 경관계획 수립을 위해 전라남도 병영면 농촌중심지 지역민들을 대상으로 의견을 조사·분석하였다. 조사내용은 경관 장소적 선호도, 대표 경관자원 및 인물, 개선사항 등의 내용으로 진행하였으며, 조사·분석결과를 기반으로 향후 농촌지역민 삶의 질 개선을 위해 공간 구조적, 관련계획 및 사업적, 자연 경관적, 역사문화경관적, 공공/민간경관적 측면 등 각 요소별 디자인가이드라인 방안을 제언하였다. 이러한 조사·분석결과와 더불어, 향후 농촌지역민 삶의 질 개선을 위한 디자인가이드 라인을 제언하였으며 주요내용은 다음과 같다. 외부에서 많은 관광객이 찾아와서 머물고 갈수 있는 체류형 관광프로그램 개발이 필요하고, 역사보전 사업 및 하멜촌 조성사업과 연계, 등산로 및 친수공간 조성을 통해 접근성을 높이고 다른 자원과 연계방안을 마련해야 할 것이다. 다양한 관광자원을 보유하고 있음에 따라, 거시적인 방향설정 등 각 요소별 디자인가이드 라인을 작성하여 체계적인 경관관리가 될 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다.

Historical and cultural heritage provides a clue to reflect on the life of the era. Views of traditional village are the thing which can show us the life style and value of our ancestors and must be conserved as the values and traditional culture. Traditional village that has the historical value and descended to this day by adapting to environmental and social changes with the strong continuity is a part of the value of the residents' life and should be conserved with the physical environment, community and quality of the inhabitants' life. Therefore, this study is to analysis the difference of perception and the cause regarding conservation of the historical landscape and how the landscape influences on the residents and visitors. Based on those things, this study is to ultimately introspect importance of the residents' participation and meaning of the difference of perception about conservation of the historical landscape.

The purpose of this study is to find out the application plan for the landscape planning after grasping the current situation of the historical and cultural resources in Cheongju city and closely examining their conservation and use state. Concerning the method of the study, I considered the resources related concepts and came up with the characteristics of the historical and cultural resources and the application planning as landscape factors after the research on the actual condition and their present situation. Regarding the study or research, I studied the cultural assets, historical and cultural resources, historical and cultural planning, and further examined the historical and cultural resources by dividing them diversely and further, studied the current situation of their system and the related law. For the current situation of the historical and cultural landscape resource in Cheongju city I conducted the assessment of the landscape resources by areas, types, locations. On the basis of this study I came up with the basic direction for the application plan and the solution to the management of the landscape and think that these plans or suggestions will make a contribution to the establishment of their identity by regions.

The objective of this study is to provide a townscape design guideline that harmonized with a historic landscape via condition investigation and landscape analysis of the cultural /commercial environment district where an improvement is a necessity. The followings are the conclusions: 1.To enhance the identity of Gyeongju, should pursue diversity in unity by making the image of architectural landscape a similar peculiarity. 2.The central commercial district where the tradition is valued and contemporary figures meet the tradition needs a landscape formation by CONTEXT. 3.Since a characteristic of the target area is a regional commercial center, to reduce its congestion, reforming the area to simple environment is required. 4.Induce buildings located on the streets with cultural properties to have Korean traditional tiled roof in order to fit in with their surroundings. 5.Make it a rule to partition a wall into tripartition, the wall surface exposed should be the same finishing materials. 6.Consider the visual aspect of pedestrians and a building's width, the recommendable height of the facade should be 3~3.6m. 7.For the design archetype of cornice, four traditional types based on Korean traditional eaves are suggested. 8.The design of signboards should break existing square-shapes, and seek a design to take advantage of icons that historicity and traditionalist of the city are expressed.

This study aims to examine residents' satisfaction and behavioral condition at the commercial street of Historic and Cultural Environmental Districts in Gyeongju. To achieve this, the study relied on empirical study method and additionally, present condition survey was performed with a user interview. residents' satisfaction and preferences analysis was conducted to figure out present conditions and improvements. This work has completed a total analysis of the architectural characteristics and street factors among various factors which influence residents' satisfaction level including physical street equipments and street view factors which are main contents of previous studies and street improvement project. Using statistical analysis, each factor's significance was verified quantitatively. Accordingly, this study presents prior consideration points before planning the commercial street improvement project and the region development project.

The aim of this study is to provide a conservational and practical using of traditional elements and actual conditions of Taketomi village design as specified Machinami Conservational District in far south Okinawa of Japanese Islands. It was comprised in main contents that this study surveyed historical and cultural elements, dwelling area and housing, and environmental elements designed by participation in Taketomi village people. It was surveyed on from July 5th to 6th in 2006. As a results of this study, I could suggest a conclusions as follows; firstly, it was necessary for them to conceive historical and cultural elements as they designed traditional tourism village. Secondly, Machinami District of Taketomi village has a traditional identity that conserves landscapes of red roof house and coralline street by original form. Thirdly, the form and spatial organization of traditional house keep cultural heritage in Taketomi style. Lastly, they, by themselves, build a rules and ideas of green tourism for managements with experts and NPO.

이 연구의 목적은 지자체의 계획수립 정책과 마을주민의 요구를 분석하여 농촌마을 재개발을 위한 지역계획 방향을 제시하는 데 있다. 마을재개발 주요 내용으로는 생활편의성 향상 뿐만 아니라 자연환경, 역사문화와 같은 어메니티 자원과 경관자원 등의 보전과 활용이 포함되어야 한다는 관점을 취하였다. 마을주민에 대한 설문조사와 마을재개발 계획수립 과정 및 결과에 분석을 토대로, 농촌마을재개발 계획의 특징을 파악한 후, 향후 발전을 위한 과제를 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 마을재개발시 국토이용계획과 농촌특성을 반영할 수 있도록 토지이용 및 농촌개발 관련법을 보완해야 한다. 둘째, 농촌지역에 주거 및 취락지구를 도입하여 체계적인 마을정비가 이루어질 수 있도록 유도해 나갈 필요가 있다. 셋째, 지역계획수립 체계를 토지이용계획과 마을재개발 추진에 적합한 형태로 확립, 운영토록 한다. 넷째, 마을개발 부지 확보를 원활하게 할 수 있는 방향으로 농지교환분합 제도를 활성화해 나가도록 한다. 다섯째, 지역계획과 마을재개발이 유기적으로 연계되어 추진될 수 있도록 우선 개발 마을을 선정하고, 마을주민의 요구를 반영한 마을발전계획을 수립하며, 농촌취락지구와 같은 농촌토지 용도지구를 도입, 운영할 필요가 있다. 여섯째, 마을재개발 시범사업의 추진 및 평가를 토대로 체계적인 본 사업을 확대, 시행해 나가는 방안 마련이 필요하다. 일곱째, 농촌지역의 낙후도를 고려한 사업지원 및 추진에 차등화 방안을 마련할 필요가 있다.

이 연구는 농업유산으로서 남원시 신기리 당산숲의 경관 특성을 조사한 것으로서, 관리 개선방안 고찰을 통해 농촌마을 신기리의 활력을 제고하고자 하였다. 국제연합식량농업기구는 각 나라의 농지, 독특한 농업경관, 문화다양성 보호 등을 위해 '세계중요농업유산' 개념을 정립하였다. 농림축산식품부는 농촌발전을 위한 새로운 목표와 수단을 만들어 나가는 데 있어서, 농업유산이 핵심전략 자원이라고 평가하고 있다. 수 백년 이상의 당산제 역사를 갖고 있으며 농지와 연결되어 있는 농어촌 전통마을숲, 당산숲은 한국을 대표하는 '농업유산'이라고 할 수 있다. 신기리 당산숲은 두 개의 당산숲과 하나의 비보숲으로 이루어져 있다. 특히 395m 길이에 15m 폭을 가진 두 번째 당산숲은 조산 위에 조성되어 있다. 대부분의 당산숲은 조성 내력에 대한 기록이 없으나, 신기리 당산숲은 두 번째 당산숲 안에 조성 내력이 기록된 '토성축성기념비'가 보존되어 있는 것이 가장 큰 특징이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 신기리 당산숲은 이러한 특징에도 불구하고 관심을 받지 못한 채 방치되어 있다. 가치 있는 경관 특성을 지닌 신기리 당산숲은 일반 대중에게 널리 인식될 필요가 있다. 신기리 당산숲이 '지리산 둘레길'과 연계되면 신기리의 농업경관, 농업유산을 접할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 수 있고, 마을 활력 증진에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
