Impact of IT Education on Organizational Performance in the Agricultural Sector (정보화 교육이 농업 경영 조직에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to clarify the effect of information technology (IT) education on the efficiency and effectiveness of working processes among agriculture corporations. Survey data on information levels from 222 agriculture corporations were collected from the Korean Agency of Education, Promotion, and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (EPIS) for a governmental white paper. Structural equation modeling was used for analysis. This study found that IT education increases the ratio of the use of information systems in working processes, especially given the use of data accumulated through information and communications technologies (ICT). The findings of this study suggest that the use of ICT data as an aspect of IT education is beneficial for the agricultural sector.

Investigation on the Effect of Abnormal Climate in High Value Added Crops Utilizing Agrophotovoltaic Structures (영농형 태양광 구조물 활용 고부가가치 작물의 이상기후 영향 분석)

  • Agrovoltaic system is a concept that combines agriculture and photovoltaic (PV) system by applying a PV system to the upper part of farmland. In this study, we developed a folding drive system for an agrophotovoltaic (agroPV) module (150 Wp/4×9 cell) exclusively for pear farming with 10 kW capacity. The system was installed in 2018, and the growth characteristics and quantity of pears under the agroPV folding system have been investigated for 2 years. We found that thare is no differences of the characteristics of pears grown under the agroPV system compared to the pears grown without the system (control) except the percutaneous color L of pear. However, the weight and sugar content of the pear grown under the agroPV system were decreased by 4.5% and 1.3°Bx compared to that of the control, respectively. We assume that this is mainly due to the influenced of the delay in flowering as upper PV module block some of sunlight. However, interestingly, when we deleyed the pear harvesting by 2 weeks, the weight of pears increased by 8.5% and they became nearly the sample as the control pears harvested 2 week earlier. In addition, we also found that the agroPV modules decrease the fall rate of pear when the typoon struck, also it mitigates cold damage by 38% during April by protecting from frost. In conclusion, it can be said that the agroPV system help to protect target crops from the environmental conditions and the quality of the crops are similar to the that of control.

Development and Validation of Digital Twin for Analysis of Plant Factory Airflow (식물공장 기류해석을 위한 디지털트윈 개발 및 실증)

  • As one of the alternatives to solve the problem of unstable food supply and demand imbalance caused by abnormal climate change, the need for plant factories is increasing. Airflow in plant factory is recognized as one of important factor of plant which influence transpiration and heat transfer. On the other hand, Digital Twin (DT) is getting attention as a means of providing various services that are impossible only with the real system by replicating the real system in the virtual world. This study aimed to develop a digital twin model for airflow prediction that can predict airflow in various situations by applying the concept of digital twin to a plant factory in operation. To this end, first, the mathematical formalism of the digital twin model for airflow analysis in plant factories is presented, and based on this, the information necessary for airflow prediction modeling of a plant factory in operation is specified. Then, the shape of the plant factory is implemented in CAD and the DT model is developed by combining the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) components for airflow behavior analysis. Finally, the DT model for high-accuracy airflow prediction is completed through the validation of the model and the machine learning-based calibration process by comparing the simulation analysis result of the DT model with the actual airflow value collected from the plant factory.

  • 최근 중국으로부터 구운계란이 수입되어 원산지 표시가 되지 않은 채 국내 시장을 잠식하고 있어 계란가공업계가 긴장하고 있는 가운데, 계란 가공산업에 뛰어들어 소비확대에 앞장서고 있는 난가공업체들의 피해가 우려되고 있는 실정이다. 국내 난가공소비 비율은 전체 계란 소비의 $15\%$를 차지하고 있으며, 이는 일본 $60\%$, 유럽 $30\%$에 비해 크게 뒤져있는 실정이다. 과거부터 많은 업체들이 계란가공 산업에 뛰어들어 소비확대를 꾀했으나 맛과 안전성, 유통, 소비 분야에 충족하지 못하고 실패를 거듭해왔다. 또한 가공원료로 사용되는 난황분, 난백분 등은 단가면에서 외국산과 경쟁력을 잃어 수입산물로 대체되면서 가공란 산업의 저해요인으로 작용하고 있다. 더욱이 최근 식품에 대한 위생문제가 크게 부각되고 있는 가운데 기존의 가공란 업계도 소비자를 배제할 수는 없는 시대에 돌입하게 되었다. 이런 어려운 여건속에서 국내 난가공 산업의 발전과 활로를 찾기 위해 농업회사법인 충의(주)(대표 조규석)가 기존의 난가공 마인드를 깨고 맛과 안전성에 초점을 맞춰 신상품개발로 소비자들로부터 큰 호응을 불러오면서 큰 기대를 모으고 있다.

The 31th Korean Package Design Award (제31회 대한민국패키지디자인대전)

  • (사)한국패키지디자인협회(회장 강부연)가 '2022 제31회 대한민국패키지디자인대전'의 수상작을 발표했다. 이 공모전은 국내 유일의 포장디자인 공모전으로 대학생부문과 일반부문으로 나뉘어 독창성, 상품의 외관, 기능, 소재, 경제성 등을 심사하여 선정했다. 이번 공모전은 포장디자인 분야 디자이너들의 많은 관심과 호응으로 대학생부문은 10개 대학 177점, 일반부문은 30개 업체 71점이 우수 포장디자인 제품으로 선정되어 포장 디자인의 중요성을 통해 위상을 다시 한 번 드높였다. 출품작들의 주목할 점으로는 친환경 트렌드를 반영한 다수의 제품들이 출품되었다는 것이다. 특히, 코로나19 장기화로 인한 소비패턴과 생활의 변화에 따른 트렌드를 반영한 포장디자인 제품이 대거 출품되어 이목을 끌었다. 올해 '대상'은 서울우유협동조합 골든저지밀크 제품이 선정되었으며, 이외 은상으로 업사이클링에 포커스를 맞춘, (주)신원인팩/페어플레이파머스 농업회사법인 사과 부산물을 활용한 친환경 사과트레이 [업사이클링 : APPLE CLAM(애플클램), 화이트와 메탈릭 컬러 매치를 통한 고급화 이미지를 극대화시킨 디자인 (주)아워홈 AMORIS Charcutrie 등 우수 포장디자인으로 선정되었다. 본지에서는 공모전 일반부문 본상 수상작들을 통해 패키지디자인의 최신 동향을 살펴보도록 한다.

  • This study analyze factors influencing business performance by types of agricultural corporation for improving performance. The number of agricultural corporations have been increasing but their profitability has been decreasing. In this situation, it is important to analyze factors influencing business performance for improving their profitability. We estimate a model including financial indexes and corporation's characters using ordinary least square. We use agricultural corporations survey data for 10years(2005~2014) of Statistics Korea. This study analyze bookkeeping recorded agricultural corporations for the same period. As a result, we find factors to influence Return on Assets(ROA). Additionally, we calculate optimized current ratio and debt ratio for ROA maximization. Operation period and the number of full-time workers also have a positive effect on ROA. Agricultural production, processing and distribution variables by business types have a positive effect on ROA, but some of their interaction terms have a negative effect on ROA. We expect that this result will help for improving corporation's business performance.

Effects of Drying Methods on the Quality and Physiological Activities of Blueberry(Vaccinium ashei) (건조방법에 따른 블루베리의 품질 및 생리활성)

  • This study was performed to determine the effects of drying methods on the quality and physiological activities of blueberry. Blueberries(Vaccinium ashei) were dried by hot-air ($60^{\circ}C$), cyclic low pressure ($50^{\circ}C$), and freeze drying methods. They contained high properties of carbohydrates(68.48~80.00%), crude protein(1.63~5.41%), crude fat(0.58~1.25%), and ash(0.71~1.11%) regardless of the drying methods. There were no differences in pH according to the drying methods. Browning index increased as the drying temperature increased. The L, a values of the freeze-dried sample were higher than those of the other dried samples, whereas the b value of the cyclic low pressure dried sample was higher than that of the other samples. The free sugar contents of the hot-air sample were higher than those of the other samples. Vitamin C content of the freeze dried sample was higher than that of either the hot-air or cyclic low pressure dried sample. The contents of total polyphenols and anthocyanins were higher in the freeze dried sample. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of freeze drying sample was higher than that of either the hot-air or cyclic low pressure dried sample. The result indicated that there were no differences in product quality depending on the freeze-drying and cyclic low pressure drying methods.

Changes in morphological characteristics of common mushroom fruiting bodies in different harvest flush (양송이 재배주기에 따른 형태적 특성 변화)

  • Five varieties of mushrooms, including Sae-do, were examined using farm field tests to determine their morphological characteristics and quality by performing harvest flush. Considering the cultivation characteristics of the varieties studied, the parts related to mushroom generation and production showed almost similar characteristics. Overall, the mycelial forces were similar; however, in the evaluation of plantation tests performed by farmers, "saedo" was found to be the strongest and "saehan" was considered to be the weakest. Weights of fruiting bodies were related more for compost status and regimen of use than for breeding, and it was difficult to distinguish between the weights of fruiting bodies of the varieties studied. Regardless of the variety, pileus diameter, pileus thickness, and stem length of Dalseong-gun, Yongin-si, and Boryeong-si decreased as the harvest flush progressed. However, stem thickness tended to increase in the second and third flush compared to that in the first flush, regardless of the variety. However, the Gyeongju-si farms could not identify any trends attributable to varieties and harvest flushes. The pileus size and stem length of the fruiting bodies of varieties from Buyeo farms decreased with the progression of the harvest flush. However, pileus thickness and stem thickness did not show any specific tendency of growth among the varieties studied. The differences in the morphological characteristics of mushroom varieties in each harvest cycle are expected to be caused by differences in the supply of nutrients in the medium, the quality of the compost used, and the cultivation environment rather than the variety.
